Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method Chapter 2805: 573: The 25th Seat of the Supreme Council, God Descends!

Previously on Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method...
The Despair Sovereign, also known as the Snake of the End, has formally requested to defect from the Nightmare World and join the forces of Nora. While Levi remains cautious of the monarch’s true intentions, the Supreme Council has convened to debate the risks of such an unprecedented alliance. To prove its sincerity, the Snake of the End has agreed to descend into the Nora Continent in its true form for a high-stakes interview. The meeting is now underway at the Metal School’s Roger Mountain, where the council members and Levi must determine if this level-10 entity is a genuine ally or a cunning double agent.

The crowd buzzed with conversation. Despite being a Level 10 Strongman, the Snake of the End appeared just as anxious and hesitant as the rest—with the sole exception of Levi.

Ultimately, the legendary wizards and the barbarian warriors traded glances, having clearly established a foundational trust with the Snake of the End.

Reaching out his hand, Edmund said, "Welcome, Despair Sovereign."

The Snake of the End let out a heavy breath and replied, "From now on, just call me Mr. End. As of today, I am no longer the Despair Sovereign."

...

A year passed.

Nora Calendar, Year 1596.

The Nightmare World.

The Despair Domain.

Beneath a sky of crimson and black, the Snake of the End looked down at its lands and the limitless Blood Flesh Forest, eyes filled with determination.

Rumble!

The Flesh and Blood Mountains began to hum and vibrate as it abandoned its title of Nightmare Monarch, causing the true name of Yermund to slowly dissolve into nothingness.

This massive territory would soon transform into a wasteland. Every accomplishment it had achieved over the years within the Nightmare World was about to vanish.

"Yo, Yermund, where are you planning to go?"

A woman’s silhouette materialized high in the air. She stood with her arms crossed, wearing a smile so malevolent it could freeze one's soul.

"Where I’m going? Do I need to report to you?"

The massive serpent looked up, his voice remaining level.

Internally, however, a spike of dread hit him. He realized the inevitable had arrived. The Supreme Will had instinctively picked up on his treason and dispatched these local monarchs to settle the score... Truly, nothing in this world comes without a price.

"Are you trying to dodge the draft and go into hiding?"

The Devouring Sky Demon Lord gave a lazy stretch, her aura of a Level 10 Late Stage radiating terror. Her small mouth parted slightly as a long, crimson tongue licked her lips, leaving a trace of saliva behind.

"What if I do?"

"You really are an ungrateful dog."

Spreading her slender hands, the Swallowing Sky Demon Lord revealed a vortex resembling a black hole in her palm. From within it emerged a mouth filled with rows of sharp teeth, much like a seven-gilled eel.

The Power of Gluttony tore through the sky, shattering the world for a hundred thousand miles like fragile tofu. Everything was sucked into the void, with only the giant snake’s massive frame managing to hold its ground.

Spinning violently, the Snake of the End broke free from the terrifying suction, turning into a streak of dark light as it bolted toward the horizon.

"This is the Nightmare World, where do you think you’re running?"

Two illusory, damp stone walls suddenly rose ahead like a mirage, stretching into infinity to form a bizarre alley leading to nowhere. A pale, thin youth leaned against the entrance of the alley, his hands tucked in his pockets.

"Ghost Alley Dominator, are you going to stop me too?"

The Snake of the End came to a halt, his voice cold.

Though the figure in front of him was only a Level 10 Early Stage, he was a veteran monarch with a foundation far deeper than his own.

"You shouldn’t have betrayed us."

The youth spoke in a soft, mysterious tone.

"Yermund, stay. You’ve already offended the one from the astral world. If you offend us too, is there any place left in the world for you?"

A sound of decomposition echoed as the stench of rot suddenly permeated the air. Greenish-brown, foul liquid leaked from fissures in the crimson and black sky. Bloated corpses tumbled down with the fluid, rising to their feet by the billions.

Mountain-sized yellow pustules began to erupt from the blood-soaked earth. These sickening sores burst with a loud bang, spraying a yellowish-white goo that surged toward the heavens.

The Rotten Sovereign arrived, projecting the aura of a Level 10 Middle Stage.

These former subordinates had been covertly eliminated by Levi. To these monarchs, losing a Level 9 Dominator was trivial, but the insult to their pride was intolerable. Thus, the Devouring Sky Demon Lord had easily convinced them to join the campaign against Nora.

The dark walls expanded instantly, sealing off the area.

A tide of decay rushed forward.

Countless tentacles erupted from the Devouring Sky Demon Lord’s body, each tipped with a blood-red maw, lunging at the giant snake.

Just as despair took hold, a flurry of vibrant butterflies spiraled into existence, creating a gateway of light above the snake's head.

The Snake of the End was filled with joy at the arrival of reinforcements from Nora and immediately dove headfirst into the portal.

"Where do you think you’re going?!"

The tentacles of the Devouring Sky Demon Lord coiled around the serpent's body in a tight grip. With a sudden burst of strength, she yanked the giant snake back out of the gate.

"Let go!"

The Snake of the End fought back desperately, biting at the Devouring Sky Demon Lord, but she simply laughed maniacally and ignored the pain as the suction from her tentacles intensified.

In that desperate moment, an elderly hand reached out from the other side of the light portal, seizing the snake’s head and pulling. Simultaneously, the phantoms of six Mythical level giant beasts let out a roar, shredding the tentacles that held the snake captive.

"Heavenly Will? Since you’re here, why not stay!"

The head of the Devouring Sky Demon Lord swelled until it reached the size of a star. In all her long life, she had never seen anyone bold enough to snatch a prisoner from the Nightmare World.

Suddenly, a figure in crimson robes appeared on the far side of the gateway. A Great Sun rose from his palm, forcing the star-sized head to stop in its tracks. It deflated like a punctured balloon and retreated a great distance before regaining its composure.

"Edmund?"

The Devouring Sky Demon Lord shifted back into her human form, her eyes twitching and her chest heaving with exertion.

That was a close call; she had nearly been pulverized by a Sun.

They had predicted that the Despair Sovereign, being a foreigner, might try to flee the war, but they never imagined the snake would actually defect to Nora.

Was he blind? Or had he lost his mind? To trade the status of a Nightmare Monarch just to side with those who had no future left.
