"What other choice do we have?"
The man observed Levi's unwavering focus. He displayed a rare sense of admiration, deeply impressed by the extraordinary willpower and grit Levi possessed.
In truth, by observing Levi forge the path of knights, Heavenly Will had gained a rough understanding of where the missing Evolution Stone Plate had vanished when Ultimate CreationKaz was destroyed. He also realized that Sauron's perceived stagnation and timidity after reaching Level 11 was a facade; the wizard had been biding his time, orchestrating a much grander scheme. His travels across the Multidimensional Plane were likely preparations for these very goals.
Looking at the current state of affairs, Heavenly Will felt a flicker of hope for the success of Nora's path, though he remained cautious.
His previous warnings and today's conversation were intended to give Levi an early warning, ensuring he was mentally prepared. He did not want Levi to misread the coming storm and lead the barbarian tribes to ruin by following Nora’s path into a state of complacent indulgence.
In times of success, all thrive; in times of failure, all fall together!
Levi finally looked toward the middle-aged man. Despite this being their first encounter, he gave a respectful salute:
"Thanks, senior!"
"There is no need for such formalities. My primary concern is the well-being of the barbarian tribes. Since it appears likely you will become Nora’s successor, I wished to speak with you. This also serves to establish a bond of friendship. Furthermore, if my memory serves... you came into possession of Sauron’s Chaos Ancient Tower, the one known as the Dark Ancient Tower, correct?"
"Yes."
Levi saw no reason to hide the truth.
He knew that Heavenly Will must have observed him within the Dark Ancient Tower. Back then, when the Winged Tiger Barbarian King utilized a secret technique to call upon the Sky Eye and defeat the Supreme Archmage, Heavenly Will’s gaze had surely fallen upon Levi, who was nearby handling minor affairs.
Levi also remembered using the Ancient Tower Scepter to summon a projection of Sauron, executing Sauron’s Great Disintegration Technique against the Sky Eye’s own power projection.
"I see. Rest easy, I have my own pride and will not steal your treasures. Sauron previously borrowed the barbarian tribes I had placed within that tower, and I have no intention of reclaiming them by force. I was only seeking to confirm my suspicions... Though, should you decide to return those tribes to me, I would be deeply appreciative and remember the favor."
Levi did not give an immediate answer, instead stating:
"Please allow me some time to consider it, senior. Since it was once Sauron’s property, any changes made to its internal structure could have major consequences."
The man gave a nod of understanding.
If the barbarian tribes in the outside world truly failed to survive, those preserved within the tower could serve as the seeds for a future rebirth. Through them, the manifestation of faith known as Heavenly Will could potentially use Sauron’s tower as a vessel for resurrection.
Mention of the tower sparked a memory in Levi. During the refining process Sauron underwent, wasn't the [Primordial Spark] the most vital component? Could that be a type of Primordial Spirit, or perhaps the remains of a fallen deity?
The true nature and power of the Dark Ancient Tower were likely far greater than he had presumed. The Fire Sovereign, who had refined only half of a [Primordial Spark], was almost certainly a Level 11 existence. It simply hid its true strength, knowing that a lone Level 11 could not change the fate of the world.
The tallest tree in the forest is the first to be broken by the wind.
Levi hosted Heavenly Will with great hospitality, engaging in a long dialogue. The man's vast knowledge of history and the cosmos significantly expanded Levi’s perspective. As they grew more comfortable with one another, Levi spoke up:
"Senior, I have a question. I hope you might be able to guide me."
"Ask what you wish."
"Senior, the totem path you established for the barbarian tribes is essentially a path of faith. This system allows barbarian practitioners to draw strength from the giant beast totems and even from your own power.
If I wish to develop a Cultivation method that allows ordinary knights to tap into my power, how should I proceed? I have explored many avenues but have yet to find a viable solution."
The middle-aged man thought for a moment before answering:
"The only path I can suggest for such a dilemma is to utilize the power of faith. Currently, it is the most effective and direct way to transmit power to others."
"Through faith? Via totems or becoming a god?"
"The specific method matters less than the requirement of faith itself. There are various forms of this power. The gods of the astral world represent the traditional path, while my totems are a more specialized approach. I have reached the pinnacle of that specific road. It is possible for you to create a new branch, making yourself the origin point. This is my perspective, at least; there may be other methods, but I am not aware of them."
It was clear that Levi felt a natural resistance toward the path of faith.
Levi then asked, "Senior, is it possible to use the path of faith as a secondary support system rather than the primary focus of Cultivation?"
"Certainly. The barbarian tribes currently focus on faith while using combat techniques as a supplement. Reversing that priority is possible. However, I must warn you: once you begin the path of faith, reaching Level 11 will inevitably bring you face-to-face with that entity from the astral world.
I would suggest caution... my own life is a warning. I reached the peak of Level 10 long ago, nearly touching Level 11 at my height. Yet I never dared to cross that line, for I know the terror that waits beyond that threshold."
Levi fell into deep thought.
He wasn't entirely opposed to the concept of faith anymore; the model used by the Star Gods of the astral world actually seemed quite efficient. He wanted to build something similar.
However, he did not want to be the central figure himself, fearing interference from the astral world entity or that this path might conflict with his other Cultivation goals.
After a moment of inspiration, he asked:
"Senior, could I designate someone else as the source of faith while I remain in the shadows? If I transmit my power to this designated [Transfer Station] through other means, could I establish the power network I envision?"
In short, he would not become a god; he would create one.
A slight smile touched the man's lips as he responded immediately:
"Of course. I have done something very similar myself."
The Beast God of the astral world was a Transfer Station he had once built, though he had slowly moved away from it as his personal power increased.
This gave Levi the clarity he needed. He proceeded to ask Heavenly Will for technical advice on the mechanics of faith.
In his mind, the framework for his knight card system began to solidify. He was ready to begin his experiments.
The two continued their discussion for an entire month. Elena, watching from afar, could only wonder who Levi was talking to with such enthusiasm.
Eventually, Heavenly Will departed, returning to his temple high above the Heaven Continent to continue his recovery.
This ancient being now felt much more optimistic about the future. His immediate goal for the barbarian tribes was to foster the rise of a Dragon God Barbarian Lord. Such an event would strengthen the tribe's influence and allow his own power to recover significantly.
Meanwhile, Levi did not return to the Ancient Banyan Fairyland. He headed into the Six Holy Heavens, balancing his practice of breathing techniques and his study of Holy Realm Power with the development of his new knight system.
