"Created by the primordial spirit, these beings are born with innate strength, making them fundamentally identical to powerful demons or Nether Emperors. They aren't mere constructs of faith, and for them, belief isn't a necessity for survival.
While a lack of belief might cause them to wane, it won't lead to their demise. If a life form truly deserving of the title 'God' exists, it is the Star God. All others are simply True Gods.
In this era, those entities are nothing more than Fake Gods. However, common parlance has relegated the Star God to the status of 'Ancient Gods' or 'Old Gods.' In the eyes of the astral world's orthodox deities, they are even branded as 'outer gods' or 'evil gods.'
Levi’s heart raced as he processed this information. He had long suspected something was wrong with the current pantheon of the astral world, never imagining they weren't its original inhabitants. The entity he reached out to through the 'Rune Language' was the actual True God.
To Levi, this felt like the proper state of belief. I follow your path, and in return, you grant me your blessings.
However, if I choose not to believe, there are no consequences. You won't retaliate. It isn't a matter of coercion or forced faith!
It appeared the now-extinct Starforger Civilization was likely the last to worship star beasts. Throughout Levi’s subsequent investigations and his treks across multidimensional planes, he had never found further evidence of star beasts.
Mastering the 'Rune Language' was perhaps one of the few remaining links to these star beasts. Since it might prove advantageous later, he committed to continuing its cultivation.
If he could establish a connection with these beings and develop a more streamlined method of communication than the 'Rune Language' or 'Language of Stars,' it would greatly benefit Nora.
Essentially, this was a path of choice rather than a requirement. To put it simply: believe or not!
With a sigh, Levi ventured a question:
"Senior, do you have any knowledge regarding the current location of the star beasts?"
The middle-aged man gave a slow shake of his head.
"I am unsure. The universe is vast, and certain entities have unique ways of concealing their presence. Unless they wish to be seen, most will never encounter them. That said, a single star beast remains active within the astral world.
It is known as Creno Ode, or by titles such as the 'Power Star God' and the 'Righteous Charger.' Since its inception, it has supposedly circled the astral world once every ten millennia without fail. It never pauses and never veers from its course.
It is likely the only star beast the gods haven't attacked... those beings essentially use it as the astral world's clock.
A dead serpent, known as the 'Forgotten Snake' or the 'Hidden Giant Snake,' is draped over Creno Ode. It was once a star beast itself but was slain while attempting to cross Creno Ode’s path. Now, it remains tangled on its horn. I suspect a personal grudge was involved."
The realization hit Levi instantly. The astral soul he had previously summoned was the literal manifestation of a star beast's power. The names were a perfect match.
It was no mystery now why the 'Hermit Rune' had stalled at the Third Level. Even the proficiency panel was unable to force a breakthrough past that boundary.
As a path fueled by belief, the cultivation naturally halts when the source of that belief dies. Reaching level 3 was likely only possible due to lingering traces of divine power.
As more time passes and that power fades, even achieving basic entry might become impossible. After reaching the ninth-circle, Levi had dabbled in other rune languages, only to find most were inaccessible. Some, like the Hermit Rune, simply hit a dead end.
Everything was finally clicking into place.
Still puzzled, Levi asked: "Where did these parasitic gods come from? They couldn't have appeared out of thin air."
The middle-aged man gazed upward. Pointing toward the infinite heights, he explained:
"The astral world did not nurture these gods. However, only a primordial spirit could give birth to such twisted belief constructs. My research indicates that shortly after the birth of the astral world, an entity known as the 'Star-devouring Worm' took control. It drained the Power of Star Realm and hunted down most of the star beasts.
Furthermore, it bred servants within the astral world who were loyal to it. They continued to hunt star beasts and harvest the universe's power of belief, leading to a period of rapid growth. These are the gods that rule the astral world today.
I classify the 'Star-devouring Worm' as the 'Conqueror' and these gods as parasites. They are the masters of the current age, meaning the astral world is essentially comprised of two primordial spirits. However, the original 'Star Cluster Brain' has been subjugated.
Even though the arrival of the Star-devouring Seed and these new deities ruined the original plans of the Land of Darkness, it was discovered that these gods were better suited for governing multidimensional planes and resisting the Nightmare World. Consequently, the astral world flourished during the Ancient Era, and many Gods rose to power.
Of the seven early orthodox gods of your Nora, five were born during that time, while the remaining two appeared at the end of the ancient era. They are younger than I am. Do you wish to know their identities?"
Levi replied with composure: "The Lord of the Stars and the King of Ten Thousand Dragons."
The middle-aged man’s slight sense of superiority vanished. He looked at Levi with a hint of astonishment and chuckled:
"It appears you have uncovered some of the hidden truths regarding the Double Dragon Empire."
