Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method Chapter 2782: 569: The Origins of the Nine Great Epochs and the Abyss!

Previously on Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method...
The Nora Congress continues its work refining a supreme treasure under Edmund’s leadership, while Levi balances his cultivation with a period of domestic peace alongside Elena. As he approaches his two-thousandth birthday, Levi focuses on mastering high-level nightmare spells, including the potent illusion Dream Wedding. This tranquility is interrupted by the arrival of the barbarian emissary Man Kui, who reveals himself to be the legendary Barbarian Ancestor and a being of god-like status. Man Kui begins to unveil the hidden history of the Multidimensional Plane, detailing a succession of nine ancient epochs stretching back to the Chaos Era. This cosmic revelation sheds light on the origins of Primordial Spirits and the eventual emergence of the Land of Darkness during the Dark Era.

"I have a daring hypothesis, though I lack the proof to back it up. It is possible that the Dark Era was triggered by a truly formidable [Primordial Spirit].

Should this be the case, the Land of Darkness—which contains the Multidimensional Plane and fosters endless worlds and civilizations—might actually be a non-traditional life form that surpasses our wildest fantasies."

Levi fell into deep contemplation upon hearing these words.

He had harbored similar suspicions himself in the past.

These thoughts primarily stemmed from a few specific observations.

First, there were the life forms that endured level 6 Tribulations, particularly the Knight’s [Dark Tribulation]. Second, there was the fact that a tribulation is triggered whenever a world faces destruction.

If the Land of Darkness is indeed a [Primordial Spirit] that birthed all existence, then everything—Levi included, along with all civilizations and life forms—would merely be components of its massive biological system. For instance, if a world functions as one of its cells, then the destruction of that cell would naturally provoke an immune response.

Furthermore, those transcendent beings who plunder resources to empower themselves against the natural order would be seen as "unstable elements" within the system. Consequently, various great tribulations appear at critical moments to purge them. Viewed through this lens, the theory becomes quite logical.

The middle-aged man spoke again:

"Naturally, this is nothing more than my own theory. Since my youth, I have been prone to wandering thoughts, so it may not be the reality."

Levi offered a smile:

"I find Senior’s hypothesis to be quite compelling."

"Hahaha! It truly is a shame that Sauron has perished. Had he not, we could have invited him to participate in this conversation. It would have been fascinating. Given his vast intellect and wisdom, he might have been able to investigate this further and uncover solid proof!"

"Indeed, it is a great pity."

Noticing that Levi seemed unaware of Sauron’s true status, the middle-aged man sighed to himself, impressed by how effectively Sauron had concealed his tracks. He went on:

"Regardless, the Multidimensional Plane we inhabit likely began its initial gestation during the Dark Era, even if it wasn't as vibrant as it is today.

Unlike those who never leave their small corners of the world, I have roamed many lands. Tell me, do you believe the Multidimensional Plane possesses a physical boundary?"

Levi recalled the famous words Sauron had left behind.

The Multidimensional Plane is infinitely magnificent.

"I am unsure. Perhaps not? Even if a boundary exists, it may simply be that our power of observation is too limited to perceive it."

However, the middle-aged man shook his head in disagreement.

"That isn't it. I once journeyed to the very edges of the Multidimensional Plane. There was nothing but obscurity. No matter how far I traveled, I encountered no worlds—only a boundless void and the chaotic elements of Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water.

In the distance, I glimpsed what appeared to be a shimmering light, though it was being overtaken by the encroaching darkness. I am convinced the Multidimensional Plane has limits; the Land of Darkness is constantly growing and pushing outward, much like Nora is doing now.

As for that light, I cannot say for certain what it is.

My suspicion is that it represents other universes. Do you grasp my meaning? Entirely different realms of existence from our own universe."

"I understand."

He understood perfectly. Both he and Sauron originated from a different universe entirely. They were genuine outsiders... transmigrators. It appeared that if one could cross the Land of Darkness to its very edge, there might be a path back to Earth.

Even though Levi had no desire to return, his curiosity prompted him to ask, "Senior, if those truly are other universes, did you ever attempt to enter? It must be an incredible sight."

The man gave a soft chuckle.

"I am no fool. Why would I risk entering such an unknown territory? Furthermore, the edge of the Land of Darkness is a place of absolute space-time chaos. That white light looked close, but I could fly for ten thousand years and never reach it. Forget a level 10; even a level 11 might find it impossible to get there."

"I see."

As if struck by a sudden thought, the man asked, "I recently found out that the Endless Sea suffers from three great disasters: sea beasts, the Wind Disaster Stratum, and... mirages. While the first two are natural occurrences, have you ever actually seen a mirage?"

"Has Senior witnessed one?"

"I have. This phenomenon is not unique to Nora; it also manifests in specific waters of our Heaven Continent, where it is known as... the Returning Ruins. I have come across it in various locations during my travels. I suspect these may be nodes that link to other universes."

Levi’s heart raced at these words.

During a previous tribulation, he had been pulled into a [mirage] by the Dark Tribulation. In that place, he had seen many strange things that felt both real and illusory.

He had even seen his parents, twisted by a monster, and his old home. There had been a door glowing with white light, revealing a familiar city behind it.

At that moment, he felt a powerful intuition that stepping through would return him to his former world. However, his logic told him it was likely a mental trap or an illusion created by the mirage. Besides, he had no intention of going back.

But now, when considered alongside the words of the Heavenly Will...

Those mirages might be more than simple illusions. They could be gateways to a multitude of universes, including the one he and Sauron called home.

Was it possible that he and Sauron had been transported here by a mirage?

Or perhaps Sauron arrived through one and used a specific technique to bring Levi over afterward?

If this was true, then Sauron and Levi might not be the only "foreigners" in the Multidimensional Plane; there could be others who arrived by accident, only to perish in obscurity.
