Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method Chapter 2781: 569: The Origins of the Abyss Across Nine Epochs!
Previously on Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method...
The Nora Congress high council, guided by Edmund, is currently in the process of refining this peerless treasure. It is destined to be an artifact surpassing the Dark Temple in quality once completed. In the days to come, the citizens of Nora will possess the ability to maintain seamless communication even while traversing the vast distances of the Multidimensional Plane.
As for the situation regarding the Red King, it remains equally unique. Consequently, it has no choice but to endure its current state for a while longer, awaiting a resolution from Levi.
...
A period of two years passed.
It was now the year 1557 of the Nora Calendar.
During this year, Levi reached the age of 1980.
Beside the Small Stone Pond.
"Your two-thousandth birthday is approaching fast. Is there any particular gift you desire?" Elena inquired. She was reclining in the pool's waters, watching the sky with a relaxed expression.
"I'll leave the choice to you. Anything you prepare for me will be perfect," Levi replied smoothly, his mind seemingly occupied with deeper thoughts.
"You certainly have a way with words," Elena remarked, a playful grin dancing on her lips.
Levi then pulled her down into the water. As they frolicked like mandarin ducks within the Small Stone Pond and shared intimate moments, Levi’s mental clarity remained remarkably sharp.
After sending Elena back to focus on her Cultivation, Levi took advantage of this focused state to analyze his high-level spells from the Nightmare Series. This resulted in a level of efficiency where he achieved double the progress with only half the effort!
"Truly remarkable; Wise Time certainly lives up to its reputation," Levi whispered to himself.
His gaze fell upon the sixth-circle spell known as "Dream Wedding."
This particular spell is capable of dragging a foe into a complex, woven illusion. It taps into their most cherished memories to manifest a duplicate of the opposite sex crafted from Nightmare Power, ultimately leading the victim into a marital trap that serves as their grave.
Once ensnared, the target becomes hopelessly obsessed and unable to break free until they perish. For warriors with pure hearts, this spell acts as a lethal critical hit. However, its effectiveness might be mediocre against others. On the whole, Levi found the concept quite entertaining.
"Lord Hall Master, an emissary from the barbarians has arrived to see you."
"Oh? Who might that be?"
"The individual identified himself as Man Kui."
...
Inside the Emperor’s Palace.
A middle-aged man possessing thick eyebrows and a powerful frame took a sip of Heart-Cleansing Tea. After exhaling a long sigh, he commented:
"This is excellent tea. I recall drinking this back in the Ancient Tomb World."
Levi smiled and responded, "It is indeed tea sourced from the Ancient Tomb World. To what do I owe the honor of your visit, Lord Man Kui? Or should I say, the incarnation of Heavenly Will?"
The middle-aged man looked at him and asked, "How were you able to tell?"
"In the entirety of the barbarian race, the only presence I find impossible to fully see through would be Heavenly Will, wouldn't it?" Levi noted.
"I am no mere incarnation; I am Heavenly Will itself. In the eras of old, before I was known as the Barbarian Ancestor, my name was Kui," the man explained in a measured tone.
"From the ancient past until today... Senior, does this mean you have ascended to become a God?"
"In a manner of speaking, yes. However, I am nothing like those common deities of the astral world. To be frank, those so-called gods are nothing more than frauds." A look of contempt flickered across his face, making his dislike for the astral world quite evident.
"Could you elaborate on that?"
"Are you aware of the astral world's origin? Do you have any concept of how many epochs our Multidimensional Plane has survived?"
"I do not. I would be grateful for your guidance, Senior."
The middle-aged man’s interest was piqued by Levi’s inquisitive look. Since arriving in Nora, he had been impressed by Edmund’s power and startled by the sheer talent Levi displayed.
Suspecting that one of them held a connection to Sauron, he intended to build a rapport while subtly investigating further. Having already gauged Edmund’s strength, he had come to Levi to verify some ancient mysteries.
His vast lifespan had granted him infinite sights and boundless wisdom. Levi’s current attitude pleased him, making him want to show off a little to shatter the common Wizard stereotype that barbarians were merely muscle-bound simpletons.
Even barbarians possess culture!
Taking another sip of tea, the man spoke with a deep, enigmatic voice:
"Before the ancient times, there was the Ancient Era. Preceding that was the Ming Ancient Era, which was preceded by the Abyss Ancient Era. Before that came the Dark Era, which followed the Primordial Era, and the very beginning was the Chaos Era. Beyond that, there might be a void, or perhaps something we cannot comprehend. Each earlier epoch lasted significantly longer than the one following it, to the point where no one truly knows the length of time hidden behind the river of ages.
Chaos, Primordial, Dark, Abyss, Ming Ancient, Ancient, Near Ancient... these represent the nine Chapters of the Age History Book. While I consider myself an ancient relic, I have only existed through the three most recent and brief Chapters.
I know very little of the Chaos Era, despite my knowledge. I suspect that life did not exist then; the universe was perhaps a singularity or an unhatched egg, devoid of the concepts of space-time—a total void.
The hatching of this egg gave birth to certain entities, marking the start of the Primordial Era. This was the dawn of conscious beings.
From our modern perspective, they might not even qualify as life forms. They were unconventional entities that I refer to as Primordial Spirits.
That era was incredibly harsh. Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water were in total chaos, space-time was unstable, and the laws of reality were incomplete. Most Primordial Spirits failed to survive, fading away over the eons.
Some were transformed into eternal cosmic wonders, while others might be what you Wizards refer to as a Truth Oddity... I have stumbled upon traces of their existence during my travels through the distant reaches.
Naturally, a small number of them survived.
Following that, a boundless shadow fell over our universe, ushering in the Dark Era, which saw the birth of the Land of Darkness."
