The 659th layer of the Abyss.
A colossal eye, stretching across thousands of miles, rests beneath the veil that shrouds this world. Veins of blood streak across its surface, and it radiates the overwhelming pressure of thunderous power. Like a cosmic black hole, it swallows the light around it, possessing a majesty so intense that even a level 9 expert would find it nearly impossible to look upon it directly.
This is the manifestation of the will of Heaven, the sovereign lord of every barbarian tribe and the core of their spiritual devotion! It is the Heaven of the barbarians, known as the Supreme "Barbarian Ancestor"!
The lineage of the barbarian tribes is even older than the wizard civilization. In the primordial past, a race of ferocious warriors inhabited a world called Heaven. They possessed immense physical power and were unmatched in the art of hand-to-hand combat.
Yet, despite the formidable strength of the barbarians, the ancient era was dominated by the Double Dragon Empire. Within the Multidimensional Plane, the world was teeming with mighty Dragons, gargantuan beasts, and various alien races. Even Legendary creatures, which have long since vanished, were a common sight back then.
As Sauron once remarked, the time preceding the collapse of the Giant Empire in antiquity is known as the "Mythical Era." During this period, the dominant forces were those born with innate extraordinary power, aside from the denizens of the Giant Worlds.
These ancient beings belong to long-lived species; they do not require Cultivation to gain power. Instead, they reach a state where they can move mountains and drain seas through natural growth alone, effortlessly commanding the elements of Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water.
The strongest among these entities could even stand on equal footing with demigods and Gods!
Compared to such beings, the status of the barbarian tribes was barely better than that of the Humans. In those ancient times, the various spellcaster civilizations that value knowledge and diversity had not yet emerged. The barbarians lacked the environment that modern Humans have for pursuing Extraordinary Techniques.
In that era of ignorance and wilderness, most species that required Cultivation to advance—whether they were barbarians or humans—typically turned to the Path of Belief. They sought transcendent power by offering their devout faith to the gods of the astral world.
It was the simplest age for the Heavenly Father to gather followers, as the weak had no other options. Driven by fear, cowardice, and a lack of knowledge, they could only pin their hopes on the protection of the powerful.
This choice was not without merit; by believing in the Gods, they received warmth and light, which served to drive away the darkness and malevolence. For any living soul, the primary goal was simply survival.
Initially, the barbarian tribes walked the Path of Belief. They gave their worship to the Beast God, who dwelt within the Thousand Hills Countries beyond the Gate of Wildness. The deity’s followers were comprised mostly of hunters, barbarian societies, and various wild beasts or transcendent creatures. The biological diversity of that ancient time was far richer than what is seen today.
Shielded by the Beast God, the barbarians endured the hardships of the era and moved steadily through the flow of history. While ninety-nine percent of the civilizations from that chaotic age vanished and were replaced by new ones rising from the debris, the barbarians survived.
However, the Beast God was never content. It sparked constant wars to spread its influence, perpetually locked in open and secret conflicts with other deities. As the god’s primary weapon, the barbarian tribes were forced into a life of endless smoke and misery.
Slowly, a realization began to dawn on some of them. They started to reject faith in favor of personal strength. They practiced combat techniques and searched for potent fundamental techniques, hoping to break their chains of dependence on the Beast God and achieve true self-reliance for their race.
Through the long years of bloodshed, these barbarians learned a hard truth: all crows under Heaven are black. Switching their devotion to a different god would only lead them back to the same miserable end, keeping them trapped in a repetitive cycle of history.
The pioneer of this movement was a figure known as "Kui," or "Man Kui." This leader guided the tribes in a struggle against Heaven, humans, and the Ghost God. Man Kui possessed a genius-level talent for combat techniques and a level of wisdom that defied imagination.
He turned his attention toward the powerful beings born as extraordinary creatures, and even toward those of legendary and mythical status, seeking the secret to their strength.
Why were these beings naturally born with such power?
What made their flesh, bones, and souls different from those of a barbarian? Was it possible for barbarians to imitate these creatures and grasp power that transcended the mundane?
Because the Beast God’s followers and those managing the Belief Land included many transcendent creatures, Kui began to study these beings with intensity.
He ate their meat, drank their lifeblood, and chewed on their bones. Despite his relentless efforts and many experiments, the Profound Meaning hidden within them remained a mystery.
But Kui refused to surrender. He departed from the Heavenly World to trek across the Multidimensional Plane, hunting for new ways to grow stronger. He hoped to unlock the secrets of transcendent creatures so that the barbarians could finally cast aside their reliance on the Gods.
It became clear that he possessed not just brilliant wisdom, but also incredible luck and persistence. During his travels across the planes, he met others who shared his goal of harnessing the power of transcendent creatures. Collaborating with them, he was the first in the history of the Multidimensional Plane to propose the concept of "Bloodline."
A Bloodline is the specific trait that separates powerful entities from common life forms. These Bloodlines are passed down through generations, carrying the transcendent factors established by the ancestors of those mighty beings.
Theoretically, if one could extract and consume the bloodlines of these transcendent creatures, their power could be stolen. Yet, when Kui tried to put this into practice, he found it to be entirely impossible. The barbarians were unable to integrate the bloodlines of transcendent creatures into themselves. It was uncertain if the failure stemmed from a flawed fusion process, the restrictions of Heaven’s laws, or a fundamental truth of the Universe that made the fusion of different bloodlines inherently forbidden.
He also attempted experiments on many other races, testing hundreds of different species, but all resulted in failure. Only a few Humans—who were physically weak but highly adaptable—managed to successfully fuse certain bloodlines at the start, gaining minor physical boosts. They were even able to pass these traits to their offspring. However, this was nowhere near the level of power that Kui sought to achieve.
