Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1541 - 530: Two Strikes to Slay Gorlon (2)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
"Do you really believe that summoning one undead Gorlon giant will let you claim victory?"
Rein's aura climbed higher and higher as he declared this!
Starting from the basic Dawn early-stage vibes he'd shown at first, it rocketed straight to the top of Dawn middle-stage, causing Stuart's eyes to flicker wildly while sweat started dripping from his brow.
"You've concealed your true power all along?!... But you're still so young—how could you possibly reach the Dawn middle-stage already?"
"No way! It took me more than three centuries of nonstop effort to even approach it, and yet you..."
"You have to be under the Evil God's influence!"
"Gorlon giant! Take him down!" Stuart's voice cracked as he yelled in fury.
This nagging doubt had plagued him forever; he'd been trapped in Dawn early-stage for far too many years!
Witnessing Rein, who was barely an adult, effortlessly entering Dawn middle-stage turned all of Stuart's struggles into a cruel farce.
"Boom!!!"
Obeying the command, the Gorlon giant lifted an arm thicker than the temple's massive columns and smashed toward Rein with overwhelming force, like the sky crumbling and the ground shattering. Even the whipping winds from the blow forced the nearby Isodre School Wizards to struggle for air, fleeing every which way to escape!
....
Right then.
The shaking from the Gorlon giant's sudden appearance jolted the whole city of Nirheim awake, with folks staring in terror toward the heart of the city where that enormous shadow had popped up.
Out at Nirheim's gates, the Brighton caravan folks who'd been handing over fees to get inside froze in shock, their eyes locked on the Gorlon giant.
The Plateau Oxen hauling the wagons lowed in wild panic, and only the fierce grip of the Brighton Warriors kept them from bolting off in chaos.
"W-What sort of beast is that thing!" Ayana cried out, her voice trembling with dread.
"That's the Isodre School's headquarters. Does this tie back to Lord Rein, who headed there just moments ago?" young Antaruka from Brighton muttered in astonishment.
"Hold off on going in—everyone, get the caravan under cover out here now!" the Brighton Elder barked.
All the while, he stared at the far-off Gorlon giant, his mind flashing to the ancient legends of the Shirendil Plateau shared among his people, whispering:
"Is this the fabled Gorlon giant, the one said to rip the land asunder...?"
...
At the same time.
Deep in a hidden tunnel close to Nirheim.
Graham from the Tutkash School trudged through cramped passages teeming with bizarre spiders, including some freakishly huge ones the size of young cows.
They were inside a colossal alien spider lair, where the variety and sheer count of spiders dwarfed the one Rein had cleared out earlier.
All at once, Graham stopped dead and turned his gaze toward Nirheim.
"Huh? That energy—Stuart's called forth the Gorlon giant?"
"So Rein's definitely in town."
"Perfect chance; the stars are aligning just right!" A grin spread across Graham's face as he scanned the vast spider den.
In a flash, his form disappeared from sight.
...
Back on the Isodre School Station's open plaza.
The Gorlon giant's massive punch had just landed, and the swirling dirt clouds still hung thick in the air.
Yet from within that haze, a sleek dark silver disc burst forth like a bolt, carving a wide curve straight for the giant's glaring single eye.
The Gorlon giant might look bulky and slow, but it moved with surprising speed. Its bulky head pulled back quick, and one solid, rock-hard arm swung up just enough to shield the disc with its boulder-tough bicep.
"Sizzle!"
Bright yellow glow flared across the Gorlon giant's arm, backed by its rugged stone-like flesh, holding firm against a gash almost two meters deep—but it still managed to halt Rein's deadly Dawn spell, the ’Blade-toothed Disc.’
For the first time, Rein's ’Blade-toothed Disc’ met a foe tough enough to shrug off its slicing force.
Sure, the disc had gouged into the Gorlon giant's stony arm, but next to the limb's four-to-five-meter girth, that two-meter slash was barely a scratch.
"Heh heh, the Gorlon giant boasts incredible natural armor, drawing in earth element particles on its own to boost its toughness. Without that, how could it ever rip a giant dragon to shreds?"
Stuttgart let out a mocking laugh at the sight.
"Your strike packs a punch, sure, but its reach is way too narrow. It might work on lesser beasts, but against the Gorlon giant? Useless."
"Gravity Field!" Stuttgart wasted no time, directing the Gorlon giant to strike back.
A bizarre twist in gravity exploded outward from the Gorlon giant, wrapping the whole area in its grip.
"You slipped the Quicksand Trap, but this Gravity Field? No escaping it."
"Time to meet your end, Rein!"
"Gorlon giant, smash him flat!" Stuttgart bellowed from his spot behind the giant's skull.
...
"Oh? You truly think this Gorlon giant's beyond my reach?" Rein sensed the warping gravity pulling at him, but he just smirked at Stuttgart.
"Endangering the everyday folks of Nirheim City, blindly bringing back and controlling the Gorlon giant..."
"Stuttgart, you've let me down more than I can say!"
As he finished speaking, Rein's power exploded even higher, shattering the Dawn Wizard middle-stage ceiling and leaping right into Dawn late-stage!
Moments earlier, Rein had spotted nearby homes, market stalls, fancy manors, and more starting to crumble... If the Gorlon giant kept on its destructive path, even taking out Stuttgart wouldn't save Nirheim City from total ruin.
