Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1540 - 530: Two Hits to Slay Gorlon

Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Rein unleashed a high-speed dark silver disc, a concealed Metal Series Dawn Killing Move, slicing through the defenses of Isodre School wizards with effortless precision. Despite Malcolm's earth-colored shields and Stuttgart's protective Shield of Rock, the disc bisected Malcolm and severed another elder wizard's head, leaving the Crystalization Peak members in stunned horror. Stuttgart, recognizing the attack's true power, activated the school's ancient heritage, causing the ground to tremble and swell as an immense force stirred beneath the earth.

"Oh? From the look on your face, it seems you've got some kind of contingency ready?"

Amid the tremendous uproar that shook the ground, Rein kept his composure and replied coolly.

Out of nowhere, a pair of enormous arms erupted from the soil, looking just like human limbs that stretched at least thirty to forty meters in length and four to five meters thick.

Following that, a hideous head pushed up from below the surface.

The head was huge, the size of a building, its mouth stretched wide across its face to the very edges of its cheeks, as though one more inch would split it all the way to the nape. Yet the most eye-catching feature was the single massive eye right in the middle of its brow, positioned above the mouth.

The eye's whites were laced with thick streaks of blood-red, and its pupil shone a muddy yellow-brown, radiating raw savagery, a thirst for blood, and utter disdain for everything alive!

As the full form came into view, its body covered in tough, marble-hardened skin, the crowd saw it towered incredibly high, like an ape scaled up by tens of times!

"Gorlon... (Ancient Common Language)"

A deep, rumbling growl, slow and thunderous, poured from its gore-drenched maw, sounding like a barrage of a thousand hide drums pounded at once, echoing wildly through the wilderness!

This sight terrified numerous First Level Fogging Stage Wizards from the Isodre School, causing them to recoil backward on pure instinct.

"What... what sort of beast is that?!"

"Looks like the Gorlon Giant, the one everyone believed extinct!" A Second Level Liquidization Wizard exclaimed in astonishment, as a memory hit him, leading him to spit it out.

"The Gorlon Giant? Legends say their grown forms hit Epic Late or even Epic Peak power, ripping apart massive dragons with nothing but their hands?"

"But how could a live Gorlon Giant be buried right under the school's foundation?"

"Doesn't matter! The real foe for our school right now is this Rein. With a Gorlon Giant on our side, the enemy will have no choice but to run away defeated!"

....

In that instant, the Wizards of the Isodre School buzzed with fervent chatter!

"The Gorlon Giant has come back to life?!"

Unlike the ordinary school Wizards, the two elders at Crystalization Peak stage traded stunned looks, then waves of grave worry and bewilderment washed over them.

As the 'living relics' of the Isodre School, they naturally knew the backstory of the Gorlon Giant standing before them.

It all traced back to a school expedition into ancient ruins some five or six centuries prior, where the Wizards uncovered a Gorlon Giant corpse, long deceased but remarkably intact!

That's right, just a corpse!

Thanks to the Gorlon Giants' natural knack for controlling soil and stone, even in death, the remains drew in earth element energy particles on their own, offering huge potential for study among Earth Wizards.

So it stayed hidden as a closely guarded secret, tucked away in the school's deepest underground chamber for centuries.

This served both the experiments of advanced Wizards.

And boosted the concentration of mysterious particles at the base's core, amplifying the school's protective witch array.

"But how did it revive?? Our school doesn't dabble in undead..."

All at once, the two wizard elders felt a chill, remembering Rein's previous statement, and a sudden realization dawned on them.

They quietly shifted back a bit, putting some distance between themselves and their sect leader Stuart.

"The Gorlon Giant! What an unexpected gift." Rein commented while watching, his understanding clear in his tone.

"Yet I detect a heavy rot in its aura, which explains why Stuart and the Tutkash School have gotten along so 'smoothly' lately."

Thanks to the sharp spiritual sense of his Dawn Late Stage, Rein quickly picked up that the Gorlon Giant's once-pure, robust earth element fluctuations were now tainted with heavy undead energy, plus a concealed, dark, and overwhelming presence.

"Be quiet!" Stuart snapped, his face briefly reddening with shame, his voice laced with fury and annoyance.

Evidently, the Gorlon Giant had perished ages ago. Despite endless efforts from generations of elite Wizards at Isodre, they'd only managed to push it this far.

But Stuart refused to accept that.

Particularly since his own power had lingered at the Dawn Early Peak barrier for so long, he turned his thoughts to undead sorcery.

For if the Gorlon Giant could truly rise again, even without reclaiming full Epic Peak might, reaching Epic Late would catapult him into the Empire's elite ranks!

Maybe it would even pave the way for him to advance to Dawn Middle Stage without a hitch!

Thus, over time, he started reaching out to the Tutkash School, ultimately giving them free rein across the Shirendil Plateau.

Naturally, he imposed boundaries on the Tutkash School's moves, and earlier visits from Empire Guardians to the Shirendil Plateau overlooked any ties between those bizarre spider lairs and the Tutkash School, dismissing it all as a mere incursion by foreign creatures.

However, Rein had now exposed the scheme's true nature and unearthed the hidden pact between him and the Tutkash School.

This forced Stuart to conclude that Rein had to die right here. Even if it meant awakening the Gorlon Giant in its incomplete undead state, Rein's end would come completely.

Failing that, should Rein slip away to the Imperial City, Stuart would find no safe haven anywhere in the empire.

"It's not flawless, but dealing with you should be more than enough!" Stuart declared gravely.

The Gorlon Giant hadn't fully turned undead, yet it boasted Middle Stage Peak power. Combined with the school's mighty witch array, the 'Quicksand Trap,' it could even give Dawn Late Stage high rank wizards serious trouble in battle.
