Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1539 - 529: One Strike Shatters the Monolith (Part 3)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
"Yet that's just a rough guess; pushing First Level Witchcraft up to Third Level Witchcraft represents the absolute maximum—how could it possibly look like Dawn Witchcraft?"
...
Utterly stunned, the wizards from the Isodre School started murmuring to one another in disbelief.
Right at the school's gateway.
Rein shook his head while commenting, "Despite the backing of the Witch Array, your strikes come off as underwhelming."
"Now it's time for me!"
Slowly lifting a hand above his head, Rein summoned a ragged dark silver disk, roughly several meters across, hovering just a few dozen centimeters over his palm and whirling at breakneck speed in the following instant.
Spinning with such ferocity, the disk appeared completely motionless to onlookers, its rapid rotation betrayed only by the constant humming noise.
"Swish!"
A streak of dark silver gleam flashed by, and most wizards on site failed to catch the disk's vanishing act.
Still, Malcolm, Isodre's deputy sect leader, felt sheer panic grip him!
For he numbered among the rare few who could track the dark silver metal disk's trajectory.
Despite Malcolm unleashing three earthen kite shields in a flash, an instinctive dread surged through him, prompting an immediate dodge attempt.
Seeing it clearly doesn't mean one can avoid it, though.
"Arrogant fool!"
Close by, Stuttgart kept his face serene like a still pond. Even after Rein's might had shaken him moments ago, he couldn't stand by as his trusted subordinate met doom. Up came his hand.
Abruptly, a thick earth-yellow whirlpool erupted from the soil, wrapping around Malcolm and swiftly hardening into a huge semi-clear gray boulder resembling amber.
Tension eased from Malcolm's chest, his features turning milder!
He recognized it as the 'Shield of Rock', the sect leader's signature earth defense witchcraft, amplified by their school's Witch Array—and he was certain not even a mid-stage Dawn Witch could shatter it.
Yet the very next instant!
"Swoosh!"
That enormous semi-transparent boulder, spanning several meters, parted effortlessly like soft butter before a scorching blade, offering zero opposition.
The notion of 'doom' had barely flickered in Malcolm's thoughts when he got cleaved apart.
His look stayed just as it had eased moments before.
The ordeal wasn't finished, however.
The senior wizard clutching an earth-toned orb, positioned a bit off to the side behind Malcolm, stared in horror at the sight but felt a wave of relief, assuming his own safety since he wasn't aligned straight with Malcolm.
But the dark silver metal disk suddenly curved through the air, looped around, and carved straight through his brow with total ease!
Right away, a upright corpse lingered, eyes bulging wide but deprived of its head's top portion.
Just like that, two Crystalization Peak wizards from the Isodre School fell one after the other!
"What!"
"How can this be!"
"It couldn't stop it!"
...
The pair of Crystalization Peak elder wizards stood speechless in shock!
"Metal Series Dawn Killing Move!" Stuttgart's face grew profoundly serious as he pronounced every syllable.
He himself hadn't spotted that Rein unleashed a Dawn Killing Move.
Partly because Rein's invocation happened at astonishing velocity, and partly since the disk's energy pulses stayed so contained, failing to reveal Dawn Killing Move caliber.
Moreover, Stuttgart had dismissed the chance of a Dawn Killing Move entirely.
After all, in the Empire's wizard schools, the Metal Series Dawn Killing Move was rumored lost ages ago, and Stuttgart never dreamed Rein commanded such a potent, obscure Metal Series Dawn Killing Move.
Only when the whirling metal disk sliced his 'Shield of Rock' did he grasp the terrifying might of Rein's witchcraft!
"No surprise he arrived solo at the Isodre School with such assurance; turns out he wields this uncommon Metal Series Dawn Killing Move!"
"Lord Rein, I've apparently kept overrating you while still underrating you all along."
"That said, you remain far too youthful in the end. The Isodre School's millennium-old legacy isn't nearly as straightforward as you imagine."
While Stuttgart declared this, a thick earth-yellow glow emanated from the terrain encircling Rein, making the whole surface quake—and even Nirheim city quivered faintly.
What was once firm earth turned supple like dough in a blink, as the arena's core surged upward fiercely, like some entity gradually rising from the depths below.
