Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1538 - 529: Shattering the Rock with a Single Blow (Part 2)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Indeed, he held a deep familiarity and fear toward Rein; had it not been so, he never would have gambled by exposing his links to contact Tutkash School's Sect Leader Graham.
A mere glimpse as Rein stepped forward let him pinpoint the man's true identity, given that the Isodre School possessed solely one Dawn Wizard.
"You must be Lord Stuart. Excellent, I intended to inquire if you're oblivious to the Tutkash School gathering corpses and conducting various deeds on the Shirendil Plateau."
"Have you overlooked the grave imperial responsibilities assigned to you and your school?"
"Lord Rein, without proof, kindly stop hurling unfounded claims!" Rein's statements turned Stuart's complexion pale, while simultaneously stirring fierce storms in his heart!
"Furthermore, even as the empire's promising talent, the youngest epic-level fighter, I urge you to show some fundamental courtesy toward another Dawn Wizard."
"Is that so? Yet I believe a person like you hardly merits my regard." Rein replied coolly.
"Regarding proof, aren't the numerous alien spider nests near the city enough?"
"As a Dawn Wizard, surely you aren't claiming you sense nothing?" Rein shot back.
Those final two lines from Rein rang like thunderous chimes, jolting Stuart's thoughts!
What!
To his shock, this youth had uncovered it.
Curse that idiot Graham, who claimed even a Dawn Wizard would struggle to uncover ties between the alien spider hordes and the Tutkash School?
How on earth did Rein pick up on it?
But such details were irrelevant now.
Stuart noticed how Rein's remarks had shifted the gazes of the school's wizards upon him, and unless he turned the tide this day, his standing among them would suffer a severe blow.
Right then, Rein cast Stuart a glance that seemed laced with mockery, then boldly strode through the school's entrance amid their stunned stares.
For an instant, Stuart found himself at a loss on how to judge this youth standing there.
Should he commend his boldness?
Or label him excessively arrogant?
Youth truly breeds fearlessness in the ignorant!
Fine, if that's how it is...
Stuart's gaze sharpened just a touch.
The prime approach at present was to seize this Rein unharmed, force him to confess his prior statements as empty ravings, and at minimum, detain him on site.
Afterward, should the empire probe, his act of provocation followed by removal would stand as reasonable.
"Lord Rein, your remarks gravely defame a Dawn Wizard; nothing short of blood will purge this insult!"
"I concur that blood alone can purify it, though not your honor, but the empire's own."
Rein’s retort enraged Stuart completely!
...
"Rock Shards!"
Stuart lifted his arm, summoning with one motion a Fourth Level Earth Element Dawn Witchcraft, where spinning rock fragments like whirling saucers gathered swiftly before him.
At his directive, these countless shards, each the size of grinding stones, hurtled toward Rein in a fierce barrage.
This technique bore some similarity to the Fourth Level Metal Series Witchcraft 'Blade Flying Disc' that Rein commanded, amplifying deadliness via velocity and spin, yet it functioned as an area-covering witchcraft.
At the same time, Malcolm grinned, and upon witnessing the sect leader strike, he swiftly lifted his palm while murmuring an incantation.
"Entanglement Rune!"
A vast intricate witch array materialized under Rein’s feet, radiating a muddy yellow light and spawning endless soil-formed limbs that clutched at Rein’s ankles, piling up layer by layer until reaching his thighs.
It appeared as if Rein had been rooted firmly to the earth, frozen in place.
With the sect leader and his deputy launching their offensive, though many Isodre School wizards wavered due to uncertainty, a few leaped into the fray.
In that group stood three wizards at crystallization peak, including the elder gripping an earth-toned orb, who hurriedly launched a jagged stone spear about four to five meters in length and a meter thick, directed straight at Rein.
"Boom boom boom!"
The swarm of rock shards slammed in at blistering pace, triggering massive blasts, and instantly, clouds of debris and haze filled the air.
"What nerve, striding right in!" Malcolm burst into laughter at the sight.
He'd observed sharply moments ago that Rein had no chance to evade, implying he'd taken the full brunt of the sect leader’s Fourth Level Witchcraft 'Rock Shards', boosted by the witch array, plus the joint barrage from scores of school wizards.
Regardless of the foe's epic-level prowess, to him, death or critical wounds seemed inevitable.
"Is that the extent of it? How utterly underwhelming!"
A steady voice pierced through the slowly clearing dust.
There stood Rein, utterly unshaken, even as the soil hands clung tightly to his legs; around him hovered barriers of gleaming dark silver, which had repelled every one of Stuart's hurled Rock Shards.
"This... could this be the First Level Witchcraft Metal Barrier?" The silver-haired veteran wizard, versed in lore, instantly identified the source of Rein’s protective spell.
"A First Level Witchcraft? How in the world did it endure the sect leader’s Dawn Witchcraft 'Rock Shards'!"
"Legends say only a Dawn Wizard can elevate lesser witchcraft to mimic the might of superior ones; clearly, this adversary is a genuine Dawn Wizard."
