Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1490 - 512: Frostfire Flame

Rein intercepted a lethal strike from an avatar of the Nether Sea Goddess Hela, who appeared significantly more powerful than in their previous encounter. The goddess launched a surprise ambush that left the Red Dragon Tasa severely wounded and incapacitated, forcing Menia to maintain her dragon form to protect their retreat. Recognizing the danger, Rein attempted to provoke Hela into a duel to draw her focus away from his fleeing allies. While the goddess initially remained composed, Rein successfully incensed her by challenging her divinity, buying precious time for the others to retreat toward the Federation.

While descending from the heavens just moments ago, Rein had spotted a verdant island approximately ten kilometers to the northeast.

Engaging a goddess who commanded the depths of the ocean while remaining in the water was clearly a reckless decision.

"Insolent mortal ant, your arrogance and lack of wisdom will bring you nothing but eternal agony. I shall rip your soul from your body and forge it into an artifact spirit, ensuring you are tormented day and night!" the Nether Sea Goddess Hela hissed through clenched teeth.

Rein's keen eyes observed the vast ocean beneath Hela begin to transform into a thick, murky black. It appeared as though she were dumping vats of ink into a small pond, relentlessly tainting everything in the vicinity.

The strange aquatic beasts following the Leviathan Giant Whale Jorgandman were unable to escape the spreading darkness. Upon touching the black water, they shrieked in excruciating pain; the swifter bizarre crabs severed their own limbs to survive, while the slower creatures dissolved into puddles of goo instantly.

Seeing this, the Sea God Sect’s Flying Knights and high-ranking devotees scrambled to get away. Even the Leviathan Giant Whale Jorgandman began to shift its colossal frame, obviously terrified of making contact with the black tide.

The devastating corrosive strength of this dark water was undeniable!

Should this black liquid continue its expansion, the surrounding waters would transform into a barren wasteland where no life could endure—a true Nether Sea.

"Prince Menia, take this chance to escape with Tasa immediately!"

"The indiscriminate domain strike unleashed by the Nether Sea Goddess has created openings in their formation," Rein shouted, sending the message through a Spirit Shock.

"Rein, your specialization in the Metal Series puts you at a disadvantage against the Nether Sea Goddess. I will take her on; you must stall the Leviathan Giant Whale so Tasa can get away safely."

"Fine, let's do it!" Rein agreed instantly, knowing there was no time for debate.

As Nether Sea Goddess Hela launched her assault, she threw her arms upward. The surrounding black water rose hundreds of meters into the air like a dark curtain, crashing toward Menia and Rein.

"Come then, let me witness the power of a boastful ant!"

"Along with the disrespectful Dragon’s offspring behind you, both of you shall find your graves in the depths!"

Confronting Hela’s move, Menia beat her wings and moved ahead of Rein. She reached for the blue sapphire pendant hanging from her neck and began whispering a quiet incantation.

A moment later!

The energy stored within the sapphire was forcibly pulled out. To Rein’s amazement, the power released was not fire, but a pulse of extreme cold that coiled around Menia’s red dragon form like a shimmering blue ribbon.

The mere leakage of this energy caused the turbulent sea water nearby to freeze solid in an instant!

After summoning the ice energy, Menia did not launch it at the Nether Sea Goddess immediately. Instead, she raised her other dragon claw to channel her already surging, concentrated flame energy.

Before her, a fusion of primal ice and intense fire began to take shape.

Two comets of brilliant blue and crimson light spiraled around each other like twin serpents, screaming through the air toward Nether Sea Goddess Hela like falling stars!

"Frostfire Flame!" Menia roared.

"Oh? The icy power of the Ancient Frost Giant Ymir? A clever trick; it seems the Dragon left his descendants some useful toys." Facing Menia’s attack, even the expression of Nether Sea Goddess Hela became grave.

The explosive force held within that fusion was incredibly volatile; any impact would set off a catastrophic detonation.

Furthermore, neither the element of ice nor fire was countered by the Nether Sea.

In fact, they possessed a certain degree of suppression over her domain.

While Rein was awestruck by Menia’s hidden trump card, he suddenly dove toward the Leviathan Giant Whale Jorgandman below. He intended to strike first while the whale was distracted by the clash between Hela and Menia.

"Weakness Control!"

Usually, activating too many core skills at once during combat drains energy at an alarming rate. However, despite having only six attribute points left, Rein knew this was no time to be stingy with his resources.

Within his slitted dragon pupils, a three-dimensional 'reflection' of his foe appeared. It was outlined with virtual lines and peppered with many blue dots, a few yellow ones, and only two critical red points.

Facing the forty-meter-long Dark Silver Dragon, the Leviathan Giant Whale Jorgandman showed no fear, bellowing a roar as it lunged at Rein.

However, Jorgandman failed to notice a buzzing, dark silver metal disc that had suddenly materialized behind Rein’s right dragon claw!

As the two closed the distance rapidly.

"Go!"

Before the Leviathan Giant Whale Jorgandman could even process the threat, a streak of dark silver light erupted from Rein’s raised claw.

Jorgandman was suddenly struck by a piercing pain in its right flipper. Looking down, it realized its massive limb, tens of meters long, had been severed cleanly in a single blow!

This was the exact opening Rein had identified using Weakness Control, aiming specifically for the red weakness points located where the flippers joined the whale's massive body.
