Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1489 - 511: Ambush and Fury_3

Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
The Sea God Sect Pope Egil surfaces from the depths to launch a coordinated ambush against the Red Queen Menia, trapping her dragon within a mass of black water. A lethal beam fired by the Nether Sea Goddess Hela pierces the Red Dragon Tasa, leaving Menia vulnerable to the encroaching Leviathan Giant Whale. Forced into a desperate Dragon Vein Transformation to survive the encirclement, Menia is nearly struck by a second instantaneous blast from the goddess. However, Rein descends from the imperial airship in his dark silver dragon form, intercepting the deadly strike just as the Queen’s defenses fail.

Two opposing waves of power collided violently against the dragon’s talons. Rein successfully parried the lethal blow, watching as a trail of dark vapor evaporated within his grasp.

Rein’s expression remained grim despite the successful block.

The force behind that strike revealed that this particular avatar of the Nether Sea Goddess Hela possessed significantly more power than her previous manifestation.

This realization forced Rein to re-evaluate the current state of the Nether Sea Goddess Hela.

"Blasphemer, my plan was to eliminate you after dealing with this arrogant Dragon whelp. I didn’t think you would have the courage to descend from that airship."

The Nether Sea Goddess Hela turned her gaze toward Rein’s dragon form. The faint smile on her elegant face vanished, replaced by the memory of a bitter history.

"I hadn't realized deities resorted to ambushes. I assumed such tactics were reserved for lowly vagabonds," Rein retorted, his mind racing to analyze his surroundings.

He simultaneously checked on the Red Dragon Tasa and Menia, who had also assumed her draconic shape.

This was Rein's first time witnessing Menia’s transformation—the true form of a direct descendant of the Dragan Empire’s Imperial Royal Family.

The Red Dragon that Menia became was more lithe than Tasa, featuring horns with a more pronounced, elegant curve.

A stunning pendant hung beneath her neck; Rein sensed it was a powerful witch artifact that had grown in scale alongside her transformation.

It was no wonder that enemies had frequently mistaken Rein for a member of the Dragan Imperial bloodline in the past.

Tasa, however, was in a dire state. The dragon appeared exhausted, with a massive gash stretching from its belly to its spine, currently festering with corrosive black water.

It was clear that Hela’s sudden strike had stripped the Red Dragon Tasa of over half its fighting capability in an instant.

"Prince Menia, retreat to the Federation with Tasa immediately! I will handle things here!" Rein commanded in a low tone.

He understood that Menia could not protect Tasa across the vastness of the Summer Sea back to the Dragan Empire while being hunted by the Sea God Sect.

Having flown for four hours, the airship fleet was only about six or seven hundred kilometers away from Zetaya.

Their only hope for survival and a chance to regroup was a swift retreat to Federation territory.

Surprisingly, the Nether Sea Goddess Hela did not erupt in fury at Rein’s command. Instead, she looked at the two with a mocking side-eye and let out a cold laugh:

"Mortal, is this an attempt to provoke me? Are you trying to buy time for that Dragon brat behind you to flee?"

Rein’s heart sank; it appeared Hela had grown wiser from their previous encounters and would be much more difficult to manipulate.

"Provoke you? You think too highly of yourself. I simply wish to avoid hitting my own people. You and your school of pathetic fish and shrimp aren't enough to make me run," Rein stated with feigned indifference.

Seeing that simple insults had no effect on the Nether Sea Goddess Hela, Rein decided to escalate his tactics.

"By the way, Nether Sea Goddess Hela, do you have the courage to face me in a duel, deity to man?" Rein asked, tilting his head and looking at her with disdain.

"What?!" Hela’s amused expression froze instantly.

The surrounding members of the Sea God Sect, including Pope Egil, stared at Rein in utter disbelief. Their shocked faces seemed to scream, 'Boy, do you realize you are speaking to a god?!'

Even the 'Leviathan Giant Whale' Jorgandman blinked its massive, car-sized eyes in confusion at Rein’s audacity.

"Mortal, you are begging for death!"

Hela’s composed mask shattered. She shook with rage, her eyes twitching with uncontrollable fury.

Watching her reaction, Rein felt a surge of secret satisfaction.

Excellent. It seemed her temper hadn't disappeared; the bar for her anger had simply been raised.

This made the situation much more manageable...
