SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God Chapter 653: Why? Why? Why?
While Kate looked extremely shocked and stressed, Aurora had a big, beaming smile on her face. "Hubby, this is insane! No one will ever do something like this! I love it!"
Kate’s jaw almost dropped to the ground. Of course, the woman next to her, her supposed sister, was basically deranged. How could she forget something like that? In times of trouble like this, it fell on her to talk some sanity into Damon, especially when her brother was not there.
"Damon, this is complete madness. The guild will collapse. No guild can survive something like this. It’s just a waste of our guild token and resources. And these numbers. This is absolutely ridiculous! You do know that we have to pay like a million gold coins for guild registration with these numbers! It’s an utter waste! I know we have the money, but still..."
"What about the name and reputation? Once we have an absolute disaster launch like this, our guild will become a laughing stock for the whole world. Especially with how much of a public figure you are and how famous you are. Can you at least think about this for a couple of days?"
Damon watched her rant, then glanced at the rapidly updating member count again and almost laughed.
"A million gold?" he repeated. "Kate, I’ve blown more than that on experiment failures and troll purchases from the auction house." He held up a hand before she could explode. "Relax. I’m not throwing the token away. I’m just... skipping the boring part."
Aurora nodded vigorously beside him. "Hubby, can we please put them through something horrifying? Like a trial tower? Or a murder forest? Or a poisonous swamp where you smile and say, ’Congratulations, this is the tutorial’?"
Kate grabbed Damon’s sleeve and forced him to look at her. "Listen to me. Once this gets out of hand, we can’t undo it. The guild token is used. The name is used. Your brand is used. We will never live this down. Think long-term for once. Think about structure. Leadership. Command. Logistics. If you just pour random people into the same bucket, all you get is sludge."
Damon chuckled and gently pulled her closer. He placed a kiss on her lips and nodded. "You’re right," he said. "Sludge is useless." His eyes sharpened. "That’s why I’m not making a guild. I’m making a sieve."
Before Kate could argue, he swiped open a new interface and began typing. "I don’t need all of them. I just need the ones who perform in the next three days. Get ready, baby! We are going to war!"
"War... what are you talking about?" Kate stared at him in a daze. "Wait... you don’t mean..." She gasped in shock, now understanding Damon’s plan. He wanted to use the guild members as his makeshift army and see who would shine in this atmosphere.
Sure, the plan sounded amazing. It was a very good way to find out people with actual talents. The guild warboard will reveal everything that should be revealed. But...
Who would think of a crazy plan like this? If one was not careful, they might take heavy losses in the battle! The whole thing would collapse within seconds, and they would lose everything, both the war and the guild and whatever reputation they had earned up until now!
A guild needed practice, training, and at least some sort of coordination or leadership. This was just random madness. How could they possibly win a war like this?
And then it dawned on Kate...
The man in front of her probably never counted on this army to win anything. He was going to go in relying only on himself. In the end, this was simply going to be a one-man army!
Kate smiled bitterly. She did not want to agree with her deranged self-proclaimed sister, but she had no other choice. This was awesome because this might actually work. This guy right here was probably the one and the only one who could pull off something like this!
She no longer tried to dissuade him. Instead, she asked another important question as he watched him type away something furiously. "Damon... what name did you end up giving the guild?"
Damon grinned.
A new notification flashed for all the newly joined guild members.
[Guild Announcement]
Welcome to the guild Blood Domain. There are no applications. No interviews. No guarantees. You joined because you were curious, greedy, bored, or stupid. From this moment on, everything you gain, you earn in blood.
In ten minutes, assemble outside Nine Rivers City. We are going to war!
Kate stared at the glowing notification. Blood Domain... It was a good guild name. It was a name that suited Damon. She smiled in approval.
Unlike her, Aurora squealed in approval. "Hubby! That’s an awesome, sexy name! I love it!"
Damon chuckled at both of them. "So... are you guys joining me or not? There are only ten minutes left before I start. You better prepare yourself."
"Wait, why? Why just 10 mins? Is this madness not enough? Why more chaos?" Kate was once again bewildered.
"Babe, I can’t give them any time to scheme or some shit. At least for the first one, I want to see how it goes down spontaneously."
At this point, Kate no longer bothered to question his actions anymore. She still had a lot of doubts and concerns, but she simply decided to let Jesus take the wheel.
She, along with Aurora, nodded in a hurry and quickly scrambled to get everything in order. "Wait, did you both see a cat around?" Damon asked calmly. He hadn’t seen the little furball for a while now. He wondered where she had gone. She couldn’t possibly be sulking, right?
He sent out a series of notifications and then stood up to go search for her. After all, that little ball of cuteness was another one-man army, capable of changing the outcome of the entire battle all by herself!
Well, at least she would make his life a lot easier. Summoning Goldy to act as bait, he walked around to look for the cat.
