Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2044: It’s just an orb (1)

Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
Shota dismissed the dwarves and researchers, retreating alone to experiment with concentrating his divine energy into a personal creation, wary of revealing his intentions. Struggling to envision something truly his own amid borrowed powers like magic and divinity, he reflected on his unused system from his isekai origins, pondering a divine-enhanced version of The Penetrator to combat corruption. When he summoned the system for aid, it unexpectedly offered philosophical advice on his unique ability to blend diverse elements, leaving him stunned and questioning its nature.

Following the system's prompt, ideas began to form in my mind about the type of relic I desired.

Ultimately, the system had accurately assessed the kind of individual I truly was.

Truth be told, I hadn't truly earned any of the strength that had come my way; I was merely someone upon whom the gods and the inhabitants of this realm had bestowed power. In simpler terms, there wasn't a single skill or ability that I truly excelled at.

Thanks to the varied abilities granted to me, a wide array of actions lay within my reach.

Countless powers were at my disposal, each suited to varying circumstances based on the scenario at hand.

That explained why limiting myself to just one type of scenario made little sense.

Far better to craft something that emphasized adaptability.

Yet, achieving that proved far simpler in theory than in practice.

"Adaptable, sure, but what exactly counts as adaptable?"

The initial concept that struck me was a knife.

After all, it stood as the simplest tool one might imagine, versatile enough for countless scenarios. The issue lay in my complete lack of knowledge on wielding a knife, let alone forging one.

To forge a well-designed knife relic, expertise in handling knives would be essential to grasp the ideal proportions.

For someone like me, lacking such background, this remained out of reach.

"What about a spear, then?"

I recalled hearing that the spear ranked as humanity's most adaptable weapon. Its myriad techniques made it nearly impossible to fully defend against.

Still, the identical obstacle arose once more.

"I simply lack the required know-how to craft a spear properly. Actually, no weapon feels familiar enough for me to shape into a relic." I muttered to myself with a heavy sigh in the end.

Yet, I refused to give up there, shifting my perspective to approach the dilemma anew.

For starters, I wasn't built as a fighter.

To begin with, my attributes leaned more toward those of a mage. Thus, attempting to devise a fighter's tool clashed with my setup, as I wasn't equipped to wield it effectively.

As this idea crossed my thoughts, I turned my attention to relics that might fit a mage's style.

However, nothing truly aligned in the end.

It boiled down to the very same issue that plagued warrior tools.

"I'm nothing but a jumble of various traits. Not a single specialty stands out that I could build this relic around." I sighed again, speaking to myself.

This very insight finally unveiled what I excelled at.

"As a jack of all trades, I ought to fashion something that matches that versatility. Plus, with my creation divine energy at hand, it would pair perfectly."

The deeper I delved into the notion, the more feasible it appeared.

The only hitch was figuring out its form.

"I'll just pour in the divine energy and observe the results." I decided at last, sounding almost resigned.

But the outcome turned out to be...

...

"Well? What did you craft?"

That question hit me right as I emerged.

Given the crowd assembled here, their eagerness to learn about my creation was obvious.

Meanwhile, more folks gathered to witness the event.

Those stationed outside had merely been tasked with noting my exit. The others had lingered in tense anticipation of the relic I'd produce.

Hence, facing their hopeful gazes made it tough to withhold it.

To an outsider's eyes, it appeared utterly ordinary.

I'd made something tailored to myself, yet it came across as rather bland.

With everyone staring expectantly, refusing felt impossible.

Beyond the researchers drawn to the scene, unrelated visitors showed up too.

Word of my endeavor had evidently spread, sparking their interest in the result.

Among them were my wives, the prime minister, and even the children.

When the little ones tagged along, disappointing them by hiding my creation proved unbearable...

This led me to consent to a showcase, and we headed to a training ground together.

There, targets stood ready before me.

They'd considered arranging corruption energy specimens, but I vetoed it due to the peril involved. With children present, I avoided all hazards, opting for standard targets instead.

In truth, my relic functioned just fine on ordinary ones.

With preparations complete, the group awaited my reveal.

Hesitation gripped me, as I still feared it'd underwhelm, but backing out seemed impossible now that we'd committed this far.

"Is that an orb?"

"That's your relic?"

"Nothing else to it?"

A wry grin formed on my lips upon hearing those words.
