Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2035: All depends on you
Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
"What do you mean by that?" Puffer demanded, her glare fixed firmly on Max.
Her intense stare wasn't merely due to his words; it stemmed from the tense dynamic between the pair.
In straightforward terms, a rivalry simmered between them.
Each excelled as a researcher, yet Puffer surpassed Max in most subjects.
Only in the realms of corruption energy and divine energy did she fall short of his expertise.
He possessed an almost intuitive grasp of those elements, leaving Puffer unable to compete.
For someone as dedicated to research as her, this gap wounded her pride deeply, fueling their ongoing rivalry.
Still, from my perspective, it felt like deeper undercurrents swirled beneath the surface...
"It's straightforward. You've overlooked the core composition of these materials, which is why your massive device fails." Max replied, a subtle smile playing on his lips.
While his passion lay solely in his studies, he treated the competition with Puffer earnestly and occasionally countered her jabs just like this.
Their rivalry flowed both ways, not just from one side.
Both acknowledged it fully.
Puffer squinted at him in silence. Even without words, the rebellious spark in her gaze revealed her thoughts plainly.
"Fine, then show me."
Unfazed, Max approached the samples still housed in the machine and lifted the slender strip of wood.
Once in hand, he produced what appeared to be a wand-like tool. Yet, he wouldn't reveal such an item without purpose.
With the wand drawn, he gently tapped it against the wood piece held in his other grip.
The instant contact occurred, the wand displayed an immediate result.
Clearly, this device served as a handheld scanner, though its exact function remained a mystery to all.
Detecting the affirmative signal, Max turned to Puffer with a victorious expression.
That said, the rest of us remained clueless about the scene unfolding. Without understanding the wand's measurements, his smugness puzzled everyone.
Finally, Max explained, "As you can see, this sample contains remnants of divine energy."
Despite his declaration, comprehension eluded the group.
I myself couldn't grasp his implication.
"Divine energy makes this effective against corruption energy."
To demonstrate, he retrieved a sample from his pocket.
A bitter grin formed on my lips as he unveiled it.
After all, I hadn't expected him to prepare something so risky.
Max now toted corruption energy samples in his pocket routinely...
Such a habit posed grave dangers, but considering his unparalleled knowledge of corruption energy—even surpassing mine—it might be secure enough.
At minimum, I trusted he had safeguards in place should the sample ever rupture.
For the moment, though, my focus lay on his next move with the corruption energy.
Max strode to a nearby workbench and released the corruption energy sample without pause.
Freed from containment, the corruption energy stirred aggressively, seeking to devour nearby matter for sustenance.
But before it could act, Max placed the wood strip directly onto it.
Upon impact, the corruption energy writhed violently, as though agony ripped through its form.
Once the turmoil subsided, the corruption energy had vanished completely.
Nothing remained except the wood piece that had subdued it.
Silence gripped the room as eyes locked on the leftover wood, yet all grasped the significance of Max's display.
This powerful divine energy clearly held tremendous potential.
Simultaneously, it explained their utter failure to affect it with mana.
"Still, shaping or wielding this material properly eludes us, so crafting usable items from it stays out of reach." Puffer pointed out the issue.
Max shrugged casually and responded, "Simply instruct the creator to form it for easy integration into devices. Or craft them tiny and attach to the ends or similar spots."
His suggestion rang simple and practical, yet it carried a catch.
Implementing this would require my direct involvement in producing everything needed for their inventions.
In truth, I was already entangled, given my role in generating the base material via creation divine energy.
Puffer had undoubtedly considered this too, though she lacked the boldness to voice it outright.
Now, with Max's words out there...
Their glances toward me betrayed their expectations, and truthfully, I shared their view.
No one understood better than I the game-changing impact of these weapons.
