Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2036: First batch

Puffer's rivalry with Max intensifies as he critiques her oversized machine for failing to account for the divine energy traces in the samples. With a portable detector wand, Max confirms the presence of divine energy in a wooden fragment and proves its potency by dropping it onto a freed corruption energy mass, causing the corruption to vanish entirely. Puffer highlights the challenge of shaping the rigid material, but Max suggests simple adaptations for weapon integration, drawing expectant gazes toward the protagonist, who recognizes the vital implications for their arsenal.

"What are these supposed to be?"

A sheepish expression appeared on my face as I heard those words, yet I found myself at a loss for words because even I struggled to put a name to them.

In truth, the objects right before my eyes resembled nothing so much as bizarre works of modern art.

Following the analysis of the samples I had supplied, the team had cautiously decided to craft basic weapons from these unusual materials.

Being the sole creator of such items, it fell to me to supply the crucial components for their experiments.

Dwarven experts had also joined the workshop, so it wasn't long before they devised a blueprint for these armaments—a sword featuring replaceable blades.

Durability trials on my provided samples revealed that the materials would eventually vanish upon clashing with the corruption energy.

This happened because the samples derived from divine energy.

Divine energy consumed itself when confronting corruption energy, as the two forces nullified one another.

Thus, the blade would gradually erode with repeated use, leading to the concept of a disposable version.

By producing fresh blades, the sturdy handles could be reused indefinitely, which the dwarves believed offered the optimal approach to forging these weapons.

Creating those interchangeable blades, of course, remained my exclusive responsibility.

And that was precisely how these abstract, art-like creations came into existence.

After an extended pause, the dwarves examining the 'blades' I had fashioned lifted them and attempted to secure them onto the prepared handles.

Only a handful managed to slot into place, and even those fits felt precarious. Fortunately, adjusting the handles posed no great challenge for the skilled dwarves.

Yet, even after such modifications, it remained evident that the resulting sword left much to be desired.

Once fitted, the altered handles produced an array of oddly shaped swords.

"We don’t know how bad it is until we test it." One of them remarked with forced cheer.

However, the grim expressions on the dwarves' faces betrayed their lack of faith in the weapon's potential. Given their renowned expertise, their skepticism carried significant weight.

Still, to confirm their doubts, a few grasped the swords and swung them experimentally a couple of times.

It soon became painfully obvious that these blades were utterly impractical for combat.

The bizarre contours of the blades threw off the balance entirely, making swings awkward and labored. Some wielders even lost control, swept along by the momentum of the swing.

The sword's peculiar form disrupted the airflow during motion, compelling those holding it to twist unnaturally.

As they sprawled on the floor, their accusing glares turned my way, filling me with unease.

I simply shot back a look that implied they had insisted on the trial themselves.

With the evaluations concluded, everyone agreed these swords were simply unusable.

"We’ll take them." The sidelined researchers declared as they stepped forward.

Naturally, they claimed the items, as the blades retained value despite their flaws.

Though unfit for sword assembly, the divine energy-infused material could serve other purposes. Such rare specimens were treasures they eagerly seized.

Once the researchers had gathered the blades, Puffer approached and stated, "For now, we need to discuss what the problem is."

All eyes shifted toward me following her words.

I had anticipated this, given my role in crafting the blades.

Essentially, they sought my insight into the challenges of their production.

"It’s harder to create specific shapes like this." I admitted with a heavy sigh.

Puffer arched an eyebrow and inquired, "But you were able to change the samples before quite easily. Why is it harder now?"

"It’s easy when it’s something simple like that."

Grasping one blade, I thinned it down to a mere sheet of paper.

"If it’s just one dimension, it’s easy since it doesn’t take much thought. But several dimensions at the same time."

As I spoke, I reshaped the blade's form to illustrate my point.

The metal warped dramatically, folding inward like a living thing.

Witnessing this, the group began grasping the complexity I described.

While they couldn't fully grasp the intricacies of such creation, they recognized it demanded far more than basic effort. Lacking precise knowledge of the hurdles, however, left them without viable fixes.

The situation appeared hopeless, with no suggestions forthcoming from anyone.

Sighing deeply, I prepared to vow continued attempts until success.

But before the words left my mouth...

"What if he had some kind of sample to reference to help him, wouldn’t that make it easier? It’s like how we use molds to help us create mass produced items." A dwarf proposed out of the blue.
