While Vritra and Maeve made their way back, the sound of Lad's voice reached their ears, leading them swiftly to the 12th floor.
'Could they be connected to those four I just took out?' Vritra's face grew cold in an instant.
He signaled to Maeve, and together they crept silently toward the cluster of people.
Blending seamlessly into the shadows, they positioned themselves right behind the group without drawing any attention.
A blade materialized in Vritra's grip as he advanced on the rearmost figure in the bunch.
[Blood Manipulation Activated!]
One hand sealed the man's mouth while the keen edge sliced into his neck, the motion lightning-fast.
His ability ensured no blood spurted forth.
Vritra dispatched him without a whisper of sound, easing the knife free and lowering the corpse gently.

In a blur of speed, he dragged another fellow backward and drove the knife into his throat with precision.

…
Seven notifications flashed rapidly in front of him as Vritra eliminated them one by one in stealth, each alert popping up in quick succession.
A head-on clash would've posed real trouble, yet here they couldn't even trigger their powers, turning the task into a breeze.
Moreover, the zombies' groans drowned out any subtle noises.
"Smash this door open and take out whoever's inside, except the women, naturally." Lad commanded, and moments later, he spun around to face a lurking shadow.
"What-" Terror gripped him as he tried to flee, but the blade came down swiftly on his skull.
CRACK
The sharp point breached the bone and sank into his brain, ending him on the spot.
Vritra stepped forward into the light, his hands slick with crimson.
He withdrew the weapon, wiped it clean on one of their outfits, and stored it away in his inventory.
"Onest, it's me—let me in." Vritra called out, prompting Onest to glance through and exhale in relief.
The door swung open, revealing the eight lifeless forms.
"Toss these bodies down with the four already in that room." Vritra instructed while entering the apartment.
{Sin Points: 412}
Every stat of his had risen by 0.4 or 0.5, except spiritual, which only ticked up by 0.1.
"Darling!" Fiona leaped into his embrace the moment Vritra stepped inside.
"Dear, are you injured at all?" Diana inquired, assisting in washing the blood from his hands.
"I'm okay. Have you all awakened your powers?" He questioned, eyeing his wives.
Onest and Shitless hurried back after disposing of the remains.
"Yes, we have." Yennefer replied, brushing away a smear of blood from his cheek.
"So, what abilities did you get?" He probed with interest.
Fiona jumped in first: "Our powers resemble those from the Zoratian planet days. Mine lets me command a unique fire."
"I can wield every element." Yennefer added, no need for her to hone them further.
"Mine involves generating blasts and a type of spiritual assault." Yasmine shared; it echoed her past life's gift.
"I can craft illusions and bend minds to my will." Vanessa explained, akin to her old hypnosis talent.
"I've gained healing, debuffing, and poison handling." Diana stated, her face lighting up with eagerness to experiment.
"My power seems like some kind of barrier? Perhaps a defense move." Teresa said, though the details stayed vague.
Having heard from each wife, Vritra recited their fresh abilities. Most mirrored their prior ones, save for Diana's new poison knack.
Yasmine reclaimed her old power, while Teresa's stood out as the oddest.
He resolved to examine it properly soon, then turned his attention to the other two in the space.
"Well, mine grants super speed and a sort of automatic evasion." Onest described.
"My skill turns my whole body to metal—that's it, nothing more, really nothing." Monk Shitless claimed, though clearly concealing details.
"Come on, spill it. For fights, we need to know everyone's strengths, and no outsiders here anyway." Vritra urged.
"Sigh…" Shitless let out a breath, scanning the room before agreeing with a nod.
In short order, he demonstrated his changes: first shifting into a metallic form.
Then he shifted back and morphed into a known shape—Shit Sonia.
"Pfftt hahaha, You were so fond of it that even now you cling to Sonia?" Vritra and the rest burst into laughter.
Shitless longed for his Bullo, who at least wouldn't mock him. This cursed persona refused to fade.
"COUGH Anyway, my power involves blood control and some evolution aspect, but for now, we'll sweep this building before moving on."
Vritra announced, seeing future value in this Sonia form.
"First off, let's create a party." Vritra suggested, and a prompt materialized for everyone.
With their affirmatives, they all joined as Vritra's party members.
"Plenty of zombies lurk upstairs, so we'll handle them before tackling the folks below." Vritra declared, and following simple setups, the group exited.
Given his boosted stats and the team's skills, he felt confident in taking down those undead.
Out of the apartment, they ascended rapidly and spotted precisely thirteen zombies.
"Mom, attempt to mesmerize the zombies and draw them over, and Diana, apply your debuffs." Vritra directed from their shadowed cover.
Maeve's gift proved invaluable in this setup, or navigating would've been far riskier.
The goddess needed contact for poisons, but debuffs worked remotely.
Vanessa gave a nod and concentrated, yet her power level allowed control over just one zombie at most.
Luckily, their spiritual stats were minimal.
A zombie pivoted and shuffled their way.
Diana activated her skill too, enveloping the creature in a subtle red glow that sapped its strength.
Vritra and Maeve edged nearer in silence, as the others stayed concealed by the staircase.
[Blood Manipulation Activated]
Once within reach, Vritra jabbed the knife into its brain, then manipulated its foul blood to seal its jaws against any cry.
At that precise instant, Yasmine unleashed a spiritual strike, freezing the zombie in place.
{Sin Point Gained: Killed a Mutant +51}
No more orders needed; Diana and Vanessa kept at it, luring and softening one zombie after another.
This method turned the hunt remarkably straightforward.
…
Minutes later, just a single zombie from the thirteen still stirred.
Vritra extracted his knife from yet another's cranium and eyed the lone survivor.
"Tess, test your wall ability on that one." He suggested; he'd spared the frailest for this purpose.
Tess aimed her palm at it and triggered the skill.
Suddenly, a nearly unseen cubic enclosure trapped the zombie, halting its motion.
Yet soon it regained mobility, roaring silently from within—no noise escaped outward.
It hammered the barrier, shattering it after two blows.
'Oh, this could be useful.' Vritra mused, his focus sharpening on the zombie.
