I was just making up techniques… how did all of you become Emperors? Chapter 600: Saint Academy
Previously on I was just making up techniques… how did all of you become Emperors?...
Wendao Academy was buzzing with extraordinary excitement on this particular day.
To honor the academy's achievement in securing the first rank during the Ten Holy Lands Grand Competition, the Dean personally organized a celebratory gala.
As the one who had dominated all other rivals, Cao Youqian stood as the undeniable centerpiece of the event.
One after another, every high-ranking cultivator within Wendao Academy stepped forward to offer a toast to Cao Youqian.
The various elders of the Cao family beamed with pride, telling everyone they encountered, "You old fool, did you ever doubt that my family's Great Qian would crush all the geniuses of this generation?"
Under normal circumstances, such shameless boasting from the Cao elders would have provoked irritation.
Today, however, no one took offense; they were too busy showering Cao Youqian with praise.
This lack of resistance actually left the Cao family elders feeling a bit unsatisfied.
Chu Feng was the other primary figure of interest at the gathering.
Beyond defeating several veteran experts in the Ten Holy Lands Grand Competition, he had successfully mentored a new generation of elites.
Every Elder who toasted him attempted, whether subtly or overtly, to gain his favor.
It was widely speculated that Chu Feng might soon ascend to the position of Dean of Wendao Academy.
If they didn't build a connection now, they might never get another chance.
The festivities stretched deep into the night before finally concluding.
As the party dispersed, Chu Feng felt a wave of relief wash over him; he found such social obligations incredibly draining.
While he appreciated fine wine and enjoyment, he had little patience for the formalities of polite society.
With the Ten Holy Lands Grand Competition over, the students of Wendao Academy resumed their regular schedules.
Meanwhile, Chu Feng began making preparations for his journey to the Hongyuan Continent.
He was never one to enter a conflict without preparation, so he spent these days gathering intelligence regarding the Hongyuan Continent.
Upon reviewing the data, Chu Feng noted that the Hongyuan Continent bore a resemblance to the Honghuang Continent from his previous life's legends.
It was an era where a hundred races vied for dominance, and the human race had yet to find its footing.
For Chu Feng, this was an ideal scenario.
The lack of human dominance meant that legendary human geniuses were likely on the verge of appearing.
If he could locate these prodigies and provide even a small amount of Cultivation guidance, he could achieve victory with minimal effort.
He found such a prospect very appealing.
Six months later, Chu Feng’s official orders arrived: he was to travel to the Hongyuan Continent to establish a Wendao Academy, or perhaps a Wendao Sect.
In addition to various Cultivation resources, Chu Feng was granted the Dean’s Token and a Great Emperor statue.
The Dean’s Token was imbued with the power of a single strike from a Great Emperor; furthermore, it could be used in dire straits to tear through space and flee to another realm.
A Saint is a pillar of any Holy Land, and losing one would be a catastrophic blow to the Sect.
As for the Great Emperor statue, it served to accumulate Providence and could be triggered to strike down enemies if necessary.
Inspecting the treasures within his storage ring, Chu Feng whispered to himself, "I didn't realize Wendao Academy followed such a cautious and steady philosophy."
He found himself genuinely looking forward to founding a sect on the Hongyuan Continent.
After bidding his farewells, Chu Feng took his two disciples, Xiao Chen and Cao Youqian, to the sect's teleportation array to depart for the Saint Academy.
The Saint Academy served as the heart of Wendao Academy and acted as a gateway to various other worlds.
Once the momentary darkness faded, Chu Feng and his disciples found themselves in a location brimming with dense spiritual Qi.
As they stepped off the array, a familiar figure appeared to greet them.
Upon seeing the man, Cao Youqian’s face lit up with joy as he cried out, "Ancestor!"
The man was none other than Great Worthy Xuanhuo.
Though decades had passed, Great Worthy Xuanhuo appeared much the same, though his previous aura of authority had softened into a more profound, transcendent Daoist air.
Great Worthy Xuanhuo smiled at Cao Youqian and remarked, "Great Qian, it has been years, and you have truly matured."
"I have heard of your exploits. I fear that even I, your ancestor, might no longer be a match for you."
"Ancestor, why would you say that?"
Cao Youqian felt a bit bashful at the compliment.
He rubbed the back of his head habitually. "Ancestor, please don't tease me. I would never dream of raising a hand against you."
After the two finished their reunion, Great Worthy Xuanhuo turned toward Chu Feng and offered a deep bow. "My thanks to Saint Qiankun for mentoring my grandson. It is because of you that he has achieved such heights."
"The best choice I ever made was placing this boy under a Saint's tutelage."
Chu Feng replied with a smile, "Fellow Daoist Xuanhuo, you flatter me too much."
"Great Qian simply had a unique path of talent. His current success is the result of his own hard work."
Great Worthy Xuanhuo gave a polite, if somewhat strained, smile in response.
He knew exactly what kind of character his grandson had been before joining Chu Feng.
"Fellow Daoist Qiankun, there is no need for such modesty."
"Allow me to escort you to meet the Dean of the Saint Academy, who is also the God King of our Wendao Academy."
"I appreciate the assistance."
Chu Feng followed Great Worthy Xuanhuo as they moved deeper into the grounds.
The surrounding landscape was breathtaking, draped in mist-like Qi that made one feel as though they were walking through a celestial realm.
After a long walk, Great Worthy Xuanhuo halted and turned to Chu Feng. "The Saint Palace lies just ahead. I must ask my Fellow Daoist to wait here for a brief moment."
"Very well," Chu Feng replied, standing calmly.
He remained composed, neither peering around nor shifting restlessly.
A short while later, a booming voice echoed from within the Saint Palace.
"Enter: Saint Qiankun and the two Saint Sons for an audience."
Upon hearing the summons, Chu Feng and his disciples ascended the grand staircase of white jade.
After climbing dozens of steps, they reached the entrance of the primary hall.
Chu Feng led the way inside, with Xiao Chen and Cao Youqian following close behind.
Within the hall, Chu Feng spotted an old man with snowy hair and a long white beard sitting comfortably upon a throne.
This was the Dean of the Saint Academy, God King Zhenshen.
Though he didn't actively project his power, a single glance from him made Chu Feng feel an intense, heavy pressure.
The two disciples behind him were immediately compelled to drop to their knees.
Together, the three of them bowed. "We pay our respects to the God King."
"You may rise."
As God King Zhenshen spoke, the crushing weight on Chu Feng's body vanished instantly.
"Take a seat."
"My thanks, Sir."
Chu Feng chose to address him as 'Sir' rather than 'God King' to foster a more personal connection.
God King Zhenshen stroked his beard and chuckled. "You are indeed as modest and well-mannered as Little Kong described."
"Spend a few days here at the Saint Academy. You can catch up with your mentor or come to speak with me."
This reminded Chu Feng of his own teacher.
The former Dean of the Zadao Academy was also residing here for his Cultivation.
He wondered why he hadn't seen the old man yet.
Just as the thought occurred to him, a figure emerged from the rear of the hall.
Recognizing the man, Chu Feng stood quickly. "Disciple Chu Feng greets Master."
Cao Youqian and Xiao Chen also rose and bowed. "Disciples greet the Grandmaster."
The man smiled warmly. "Little Feng, I always knew you were destined for greatness. It seems my departure from the Zadao Academy was exactly what was needed to unlock your true potential."
