Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method Chapter 2766: 567: Armor Unsealed, Blood Battle Against the Demon Horde!
Previously on Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method...
The demons have launched their third total war against Nora, a move that was both sudden and yet entirely expected. It was always clear that the integration of the Heavenly World would be met with resistance. Now, the chaotic fires of conflict have rapidly spread across the entire world.
However, the present is no longer like the past.
Following a series of monumental shifts—including the convergence of planes, the rescue of the Star Castle, and the transition of the Wizard Council into the Nora Council—Nora’s collective power has grown beyond anything the demons could have anticipated. Now mobilized at full strength, their momentum is even more awe-inspiring than that of the Demon Army!
The Earth Demon Lord and his peers remain brimming with confidence, believing that the Gargoyles naturally counter the Spell Caster profession. In their eyes, facing a wizard civilization should have been a simple matter of a dimensional reduction attack.
Yet, within the ranks of the Nora Council, there are now 76 level 9 alien races. Among them are powerhouses like Star Splitter and Green Ghost Hicks, whose physical forms are so robust they do not lose out to Gargoyles.
Furthermore, the wizard civilization has undergone its own process of self-optimization and reform. Through thousands of years of targeted incentive programs, the strength of body-refining wizards has exceeded even their ancient peak. This ensures that, at the very least, every standard battle group is bolstered by a significant number of body-refining wizards.
As the ferocious Demon Army breached the Nora World, they were met by Nora’s massive crystal wall and the yellowish waters of the Mother River. The river meandered like the Eighteen Bends of Mount Tai, vast and infinite, while ominous Death Energy surged toward the heavens.
Hundreds of Kings of the Underworld, outfitted in uniform black armor and mounted on skeletal steeds, commanded legions of Underworld soldiers and swarms of undead. They poured out from the branches of the Mother River to reinforce various fronts.
Undead are not found only in Hell; the Underworld’s unique environment naturally produces these creatures to serve as cannon fodder in massive wars. While the individual combat power and growth potential of the Undead are usually low, they offer a distinct advantage: mass production!
Skeletal warriors descended like a plague of locusts, accompanied by undead spellcasters and spectres. They dropped across the New World, clashing violently with the invading demonic forces.
With every passing second, countless Undead and demons are destroyed. Bone fragments and spectral dust fill the air, blanketing the battlefield in a thick, grim layer.
This time, the Underworld is fully committed to repelling the invasion. During the previous two wars, the Underworld had mostly dispatched Kings of the Underworld to assist the wizards and harvest souls, never before deploying the undead legions they had amassed over countless millennia.
The Eastern Sea.
Viewed from the heavens, the Ancient Dragon Continent looks like a nine-bend Divine Dragon resting upon a blue canvas, its body carved by great rivers that empty into the Eastern Sea.
Despite the reputation of the Ancient Dragon Continent as a formidable target, every war sees reckless demons—lured by massive bounties—attempting to destroy it. The sky was torn asunder as six consecutive Ten Thousand Demon Mountains descended, each radiating a level 9 aura. They were followed by a diverse army of thousands of Gargoyles, Flame Demons, and Fish Demons.
“Listen up, little ones! Raze the Ancient Dragon Continent! You will be rewarded with a level 7 Demon Core for every level 6 knight you kill! A level 8 Demon Core for every Eighteen Rider slain... and if you manage to take down a Supernova, the level 9 Demon Core is yours!”
A level 9 Stone Statue Demon brandished a spiked club, roaring his orders to the sky.
The Demon Army had long harbored a grudge against the inhabitants of the Dusk Holy Temple. The Gargoyles, in particular, had hoped to showcase their superiority in Nora before the other demons arrived. Instead, they had been humiliated on the battlefield by the Knights’ Battle Groups. Now, they can only maintain a stalemate through sheer numbers; in a fair fight, the Gargoyles are no match for the elite Holy Temple Knights.
Nearby, a level 9 Fish Demon studied the geography of the Ancient Dragon Continent with a calculating look. He then commanded: “All Fish Demons, use the river estuaries to infiltrate the inland and launch a surprise raid on the Dusk Holy Temple!”
In a heartbeat, thousands of Fish Demons and aquatic monsters dove into the water like projectiles. The underwater realm is the Fish Demons' domain, where their true strength is unleashed.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Units of the Fish Demon Army snaked through the winding riverways of the Ancient Dragon Continent, swimming upstream toward the vital inland strongholds.
The Tower of Dawn.
Gray-white Mechanics, Deep Space Wanderers, and Eyre, along with many other masters of the Mechanical School, watched their monitors intently. Every critical path on the Ancient Dragon Continent was monitored by the most sophisticated miniature bionic mechanical sentinels.
Disguised as fish, birds, insects, or even shrimp, these drones allowed the defenders to maintain total control over the situation.
Herman remarked: “Excellent. The primary Fish Demon battle group has entered our inland waterways. It is time to close the gates and trap the dogs.”
The mechanics returned to their individual stations.
With a single thought, Herman’s consciousness expanded, hovering over the machinery like a deity, observing everything through a God’s Eye View.
Rumble!
The Ancient Dragon Continent began to vibrate. Suddenly, the Divine Dragon seemed to stir, its form shifting and coiling. Hidden beneath the continent’s crust were gargantuan Star Castles, acting as engines embedded in 49 different locations!
Blue flames flared as mechanical force carved through the land, shifting the continent itself. Even a Ninth-Circle Wizard would be stunned by such a world-altering display of power.
At that same moment, the Ancient Mountain Dragon slumbering deep underground opened its eyes. Its massive body hummed, releasing waves of invisible ripples that resonated with the shaking continent. This resonance neutralized the tremors, ensuring that the animals and mortal commoners on the surface remained completely unaware that the tectonic plates were moving.
Inside the control room, Herman let out a sigh of relief. This was the maiden launch of the [Continent Fortress] plan. Given the Mechanical School's current level of technology, a perfect activation was difficult to manage without the assistance of dragons like the Ancient Mountain Dragon, who possess innate mastery over the power of the earth.
