Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1625 - 562: Falling One After Another
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
At this very moment, confronting Rein, the avatars of the numerous deities felt a touch of unease.
Each descent of an avatar draws a minor portion from the primary divine fragment. While a mere projection might drain only a fraction of a ten-thousandth, or at worst one-thousandth.
The toll for a full avatar, however, climbs to a full one percent.
Should this happen repeatedly, it would seriously hinder the original's path to resurrection, explaining the gods' reluctance to let their avatars meet destruction.
While the avatars mulled over Rein's reference to 'waste...', he offered no further words, instead lifting his hand in a swift motion to launch a maximum-strength Fifth Level witchcraft 'High-frequency Cutting' straight at the deities.
Suddenly, the devastating strike that had erased Great Sage Tamriel burst forth once more!
Five enormous dark silver metal discs hummed and gleamed as they hurtled toward the deities' avatars.
"Hurry! Scatter!" The God of Hunting Luen, harboring the deepest wariness toward Rein, bellowed out first.
During the recent clash with the Fiend Demon, the deities' avatars had already burned through substantial power. Now up against Rein, capable of effortlessly dispatching Demigod Level Fiend Demons, they had zero interest in fighting.
Still, the deities figured that since Rein stood alone, chasing down every one of them seemed improbable. If losing one preserved the other six avatars, that trade-off was entirely acceptable.
Who among them would be the sacrifice hinged on their personal power and rank.
In a smart move, God of Hunting Luen and Nether Sea Goddess Hela bolted off together in one direction alongside the Devouring Snake.
The wounded Devouring Snake, of course, lagged behind somewhat unavoidably.
These three captured the essence of an old proverb: 'Against a tiger, you don't have to outpace the beast—just your fellow runners.'
Though God of Hunting Luen and Nether Sea Goddess Hela failed to evade the dark silver metal discs entirely, they surged ahead of the Devouring Snake, their forms blurring as they positioned themselves right in front of it.
This left the trailing Devouring Snake staring with its massive serpentine eyes in shock, suddenly bearing the brunt of three dark silver metal disc assaults!
And so...
"Roar!!!"
A agonized bellow escaped as the colossal Devouring Snake froze in place right away.
Next, its once-firm form started to wane, ultimately vanishing except for a lightly cracked, hand-sized dark red crystal that bobbed gently in the air.
When Rein drew near, the enormous serpent's shadow inside the crystal snarled savagely in his direction.
At the same time.
The remaining two dark silver metal discs efficiently took down two more deity avatars, yet the formidable Evil God Grek and the cloaked Evil God broke free by shattering the third underground level's metal roof, desperately fleeing upward to the second underground level.
"So this must be the Divine Fragment from the Devouring Snake."
Rein advanced, quickly snatching the Divine Fragments from the Devouring Snake and the two slain Evil Gods, deciding against absorbing them on the spot and instead pocketing them as he casually pursued.
....
"Curse it! How is this human progressing at such an alarming speed!"
"On top of that, the might and mastery of his Fifth Level witchcraft far surpass what any fresh Full Moon Wizard should display—it's more akin to a veteran Full Moon Wizard!"
As God of Hunting Luen raced away, visions of Rein obliterating the Fiend Demon avatar and the Devouring Snake filled his mind, sparking involuntary terror in his gaze.
Yet, mere moments after he strained to punch through the third underground level's metal barrier and entered the second, a massive shadow matching his own bulk slammed into him abruptly.
Luen hit the floor hard, blinking to see it was surprisingly a scarce Steel Dragon that had blocked his path.
The two dragons, Sword Saint Terrio, and four companions had actually lain in wait the entire time.
With the ambushers ready and the fleeing deity avatars caught off guard, the trap sprung with flawless timing!
Black Dragon Metheus targeted Evil God Grek's skull directly upon his arrival, blasting out a Shadow Breath!
Sword Saint Terrio, Haleem, the Ogre, and Otto, being a tad less potent, teamed up against the more recognizable Nether Sea Goddess Hela.
Just the hooded male deity succeeded in reaching the first underground level without hindrance.
But upon hitting the ground floor, he spotted the trio of Federation Fire Element Dawn Wizards stationed there.
Immediately, the two parties locked eyes!
The following instant, the unforeseen foes collided in combat!
"You three pests, how bold to attempt an ambush on me!"
The hooded deity roared in fury, hoisting his hand to release a vast cloud of gray mist.
The three Federation Fire Element Dawn Wizards scrambled to shield themselves, but caught unprepared, they could merely fall back on their innate wizardry for defense.
Resisting the furious onslaught from a Dawn Peak Level deity avatar proved no simple task?
What's more, this shrouded deity was the figure idolized by the Plague Sect, infusing lethal toxins into each of his strikes.
Swiftly, the skin of the three Federation Fire Element Dawn Wizards swelled with blisters, oozing yellow discharge, before rotting away rapidly, resembling wax melting in an intense blaze and collapsing into formlessness.
Just traces of foul pus and scraps of cloth on the floor remained as proof of their prior presence...
Meanwhile, Rein had made it to the second underground level.
"Blasphemer, don't get too smug..."
"Chk!"
