Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1585 - 547: Origin of the True Gods

Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
The deities invoked the Wall of Sighs to block the Emperor's powerful strike, enduring the explosion that devastated surrounding palaces but left them unscathed, though their energies were severely depleted. Sensing a hidden truth, the Nether Sea Goddess Hela and the others smiled knowingly before voluntarily dissipating their avatars and withdrawing. As Carlos II sighed heavily, his aura plummeted from near-Demigod levels to Epic Peak, his Emperor’s Scepter weathered into powder, and his body disintegrated into a fading semi-transparent silhouette, revealing his failed ascension through overexertion. Shock rippled through the Imperial Guardians and the Second Prince, who despaired at the empire's looming downfall.

Seeing Second Prince Everton in such a gloomy state, all those around couldn't hold back their own sorrow, releasing heavy sighs.

What used to be a splendid Imperial Palace was reduced to wreckage with crumbling walls all over, yet the deaths of so many people hit harder than any destruction of possessions, surpassing all grim forecasts.

Once Rein's wounds had mended at the start, he made his way back to the palace, discovering that numerous guards were already clearing the fallen bodies.

Rein drew near to Menia, staring at the place where Carlos II had dropped, and spoke:

"Menia, why are only the Evil Gods reviving? What about the good gods? Like the Seasonal Wind and Ocean Goddess?"

To him, if the energy tide sparked this revival, it didn't add up that solely Evil Gods were awakening.

Should good gods have joined the clash in the Imperial City, the results might have turned out way more positive.

"The good gods... faded away ages ago. From olden days, Evil Gods kept storming into our realm. Ancient texts say around twenty-three good gods have utterly disappeared into history's flow, some without even a temple left."

"Right now, in the Empire's lands, just the Seasonal Wind and Ocean Goddess shows a bit of weak faith response."

"But whether due to that sealed item or something else, the goddess hasn't shown any hints of coming back yet."

"Got it," Rein nodded.

He recalled that far below the Koen Cathedral in the Imperial City, a piece of the Fiend Demon's form was locked away.

Rein figured neither Evil Gods nor good gods would allow a Demigod-rank powerhouse to emerge among mortals, but events proved that wrong.

...

In the wake of the fierce conflict, the Imperial City faced a mountain of tasks needing urgent handling.

With things as they were, counting on Second Prince Everton was out of the question, so after a quick meeting of the Empire's elders, Menia stayed on as regent.

After saying goodbye to Menia, Rein set off for his home.

On the path, the people's wails tore at the heart; for example, a girl in a pink frock with pigtails hugged her doll, sobbing before a toppled home.

Under the house's debris, the still form of a young lady lay exposed.

Clearly, she had enjoyed joyful days before, but that was over now...

Pressing on, a shattered zone like a pit loomed ahead, where a fellow gripped his mangled limb, howling in pain, likely from the battle's lingering chaos.

...

Federation, Zetaya.

Cave outpost in Ressero Canyon.

Sword Saint Terrio, Dawn Wizard Hernandez, and a few stern elder wizards gathered grimly by a lengthy table, debating with grave intensity.

Among them stood out Haleem, head of the Federation Mechanical Research Institute, whose presence hinted he'd freshly reached the Dawn Wizard rank.

"Haleem, from your assessment, what is that massive metal dinosaur on the negative second level?" Sword Saint Terrio inquired.

"Drawing from the memory crystal Lord Rein provided before, along with old writings, I'm ninety percent sure it's the King of Tyrannosaurs from the elite of the ancient Goblin mechanical forces," Haleem clarified.

"In terms of the Demon Statue's rank, ancient Goblins dubbed it 'Legion Commander Level,' though wizards usually term it 'Titan-class,'" Haleem added.

He'd only recently broken through to Dawn Wizard when Sword Saint Terrio summoned him.

The cause was straightforward: the Federation's delving efforts got abruptly stopped.

Even with six Dawn Wizards plus Sword Saint Terrio for seven Epic-rank forces, they couldn't push to the negative third level and got stuck at the negative second.

The biggest barrier was that colossal metal dinosaur, which had shocked Haleem badly at first sight.

"Titan-class? That sounds like a Demigod-level being, right?" burst out an old wizard clutching a blue crystal orb.

"Precisely. Old records note that a full ancient Goblin mechanical unit could rival Demigod powerhouses," Haleem agreed with a nod.

"So does that mean we can't seize the Floating City?" Another gray-robed elder wizard scowled hard.

The Federation could pull in more than seven Epic-rank experts, but internal Federation lands were too tangled, so these seven were nearly the max they could muster.

Mobilizing extra would spark severe unrest in various regions.

"Maybe... we could ask the Empire for help, especially Lord Rein?" Haleem proposed out of the blue.

"Floating City is ultra-classified—inviting the Empire? Lord Haleem, is that wise?" the blue-crystal wizard blurted in disbelief, eyeing Haleem.

Yet he quickly saw Dawn Wizard Hernandez and Sword Saint Terrio staying quiet, lost in contemplation, weighing the idea earnestly.

This stunned him greatly.

"Wait... is that Empire's Lord Rein truly so powerful?"

"He soloed the Nether Sea Goddess's avatar, slew the Ancient Sea Beast 'Smoldering Eel,' and smashed the Sea God Sect's core troops. Think that's powerful?" Haleem shot back.

The other wizard and Haleem came from the same wizard group, but clashing traits meant they never meshed well, even though the other rose sooner, leaving Haleem behind initially.
