Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1584 - 546: The Emperor’s Demise (Part 3)

Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
A surge of majestic energy erupted from the Imperial Palace, drawing the attention of Rein and alerting the gods to the Emperor's impending ascension. The divine incarnations, led by the Evil God Grek and the Nether Sea Goddess Hela, unleashed devastating attacks—Swords of Judgment shattering defenses and black water souls exploding amid the ruins—overwhelming the Imperial Guardians and reducing the palace center to rubble. As the Emperor Carlos II emerged from underground, radiating Demigod-level power flanked by ancient Five-Colored Dragons, he confronted the gods over their fear of humans wielding a forbidden divine artifact, vowing to seal their avatars as his ancestors once did.

"Go!"

Confronted by this assault, the countenances of multiple gods shifted to solemn instantly.

"All of you, summon the Wall of Sighs!"

Grek, deity of the limb worshippers, lifted his limb first, converting his highly purified godly essence into a translucent barrier positioned ahead, as the remaining gods poured their godly essence into it too.

Within moments, the barrier's density grew noticeably thicker.

Right then, the vibrant orb of force collided with the almost one-meter-wide 'Wall of Sighs.'

"Boom!!!"

The thunderous blast echoed across the whole of Imperial City Tamriel, with the structures encircling the Imperial Palace igniting in myriad intricate witchcraft formation designs in a flash, yet they crumbled utterly after a mere instant!

Once the fierce blast wave faded away, the gods stood unharmed, though the formerly clear barrier had become hardly discernible.

"The strength of the godly avatars has dropped!" yelled one among the Imperial Guardians.

Even though the Wall of Sighs hadn't fully broken, every Imperial Guardian there sensed that the gods had depleted nearly their entire reserves of power just to endure the Emperor's blow.

"Hmm? You..." Abruptly, the Nether Sea Goddess Hela gazed at Carlos II in astonishment before grinning.

"So that's how it is."

"Human Emperor, it appears you've been defeated once more this round. Victory belongs to us!"

With those words, the manifestation of the Nether Sea Goddess Hela faded willingly into thin air.

She chose to disperse her godly essence on purpose.

One advantage here was that the dispersed fragment of the godhead's intent slowly merged back into the primary form, differing from the fate of the God of Hunting Luen, whose share got erased outright by the system.

After catching Hela's declaration, the rest of the gods appeared to grasp the situation too, exchanging a few probing looks at Carlos II before smirking faintly and dissolving into the atmosphere.

This occurrence obviously baffled the Empire's onlookers nearby.

"Sigh~"

In that instant, a profound exhale escaped the lips of the grand human Emperor.

At the same time, every Imperial Guardian on site, including Rein suspended high above in the heavens, detected Carlos II's presence swiftly waning.

It tumbled from close to Demigod tier, plunging directly to Epic Peak, Late Stage...

"Your Majesty!"

Elder Ivan looked as if enlightenment struck him, tears flowing freely while he hurried forward, yet the very next second, he halted rigidly, his extended arms locked suspended in the sky.

There, the Emperor’s Scepter gripped by Carlos II started to fracture—no, more accurately, it eroded, the scepter resembling gleaming gold crumbling into dust...

Witnessing that, Rein stood briefly stupefied!

He remembered the Emperor’s Scepter vividly.

During his time serving at the Sword Bearers Branch in Mingster Province, on various assignments, he wielded a copy of the Emperor’s Scepter to overcome numerous foes.

Yet now, the authentic Emperor’s Scepter was breaking down right before him...

Still, the scepter wasn't the only thing affected.

Carlos II himself...

As the scepter eroded, his limb followed, then his body, and at last, his whole form, reduced to a ghostly outline, lingering upright, not quite vanished yet.

"So, the latest breakthrough attempt ended in failure after all?"

Such an idea flashed through Rein’s thoughts immediately.

He'd assumed Carlos II had truly reached Demigod status, explaining his ability to overpower all the divine manifestations at once.

But to his shock, the feat came at the cost of pushing beyond his limits.

The identical realization dawned on all those assembled.

"No!!! Father truly failed!"

The Second Prince Everton’s eyes bulged wide, his features drained of all hue.

"It's finished, the Dragan Empire is done for!" he muttered.
