Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1578 - 544: Descent of the Gods (Part 2)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Elaborate and complex lines of a witch array suddenly emerged across the ground; evidently, drawing from the experiences of the previous encounter, the Imperial Palace's defenses now stood as unbreachable as a fortress of steel this time around.
"Dragon's heirs, it appears the lesson from before hasn't sunk in for you." A voice booming with authority and splendor echoed through the air.
"All of you, strike now!"
Right away, numerous colossal figures hovering in the sky launched their assaults on the vibrant swirling barrier.
With a sweep of her arm, the Nether Sea Goddess Hela unleashed a torrent of dark liquid, spanning hundreds of meters in width, cascading from above and making the colorful vortex shield tremble fiercely.
The Devouring Snake twisted its enormous form and abruptly chomped down on the colorful vortex shield hovering over the palace, instantly creating a deep indentation in its surface.
Moments later, as the other divine manifestations unleashed their blows, a massive gap tore open in the colorful vortex shield.
"This is bad! All hands, come with me to confront the foes!"
Elder Ivan bellowed, and immediately, almost twenty Imperial Guardians charged forward to block the divine incarnations!
At the same time, Luen, the God of Hunting positioned behind the divine incarnations, gazed down at the advancing Imperial Guardians with disdain and lifted his obsidian colossal bow, directing it below.
A crimson arrow of pure energy essence swiftly took shape on the bowstring, as a crimson energy swirl formed at the tip of the arrowhead.
The power inside that swirl felt incredibly concentrated, appearing as minuscule energy shards that sparkled like distant stars.
All those gathered could sense the tremendous force held within it.
"Get out of the way! Elder Ivan!" Imperial specialists close by urgently called out.
Since the aim was obviously at Elder Ivan, the one overseeing the aerial efforts.
"Shoo!!!"
No words could capture the velocity of that arrow.
Just a second earlier, the crimson energy arrow rested on the bowstring, yet in the following heartbeat, it surged ahead, crossing the distance in an instant and piercing straight through the Flame Shield of innate wizardry that Elder Ivan had erected.
Merely the wavering ripples of power hinted that an object had just torn through the barrier, barely skimming past the tip of Elder Ivan’s nose on its downward path!
Thanks to the prior warning, Elder Ivan had just managed to adjust his position slightly right before the shot was fired.
"Roar!!!"
There, the red dragon beneath Elder Ivan could be seen howling in pain, plummeting from the heavens!
Although the arrow had spared Elder Ivan, it had hit his enormous dragon companion squarely.
In one shot alone, it demolished the innate wizardry of a Dawn Late Stage Wizard and wounded an adult red dragon so gravely that death loomed near; this sheer might sent a chill through everyone there, like a bucket of frozen water dumped on their heads.
"Luen’s Instant Teleportation Arrow—this is it, and legends claim it's impossible to dodge." Menia had reached Rein's side by then, her expression grave as she took in the sight.
Having lost her dragon companion Tasa, Menia had been assigned to handle the terrestrial defenses per the strategy.
"Impossible to dodge?"
Rein creased his forehead; despite his Seventh Form's protective strength, he doubted he could endure such a blow.
Were it his decision, 'Shadow Shifting' appeared to be the sole method for escaping the strike.
Confronted by the peril of Luen’s arrows, numerous Imperial Guardians promptly unleashed distant witchcraft incantations as revenge.
"Giant Rock Throwing!"
Reginald directed his finger toward Luen, and abruptly, a duo of earthen-hued massive hands erupted from the soil, seized a boulder roughly twenty meters across, and flung it with savage force!
"Drowsy Poison Cloud!"
Pantoscoke directed the green dragon Hazas under him to exhale a vast plume of murky green toxin toward Luen, an innate skill unique to Hazas.
The remaining Imperial Guardians skilled in remote witchcraft strikes also fired off their barrages.
Like a shooting star, the enormous stone hurtled at Luen, only for a vast and threatening colossal serpent to materialize out of nowhere, positioning itself directly before him.
"Smack!!!"
With a ferocious whip of its tail, the Devouring Snake smashed the boulder to fragments.
Simultaneously, it parted its gigantic jaws and drew in a breath, devouring every bit of Hazas’s toxic mist.
Meanwhile, the assortment of vivid Dawn Witchcraft spells striking its hide oddly diminished in size, inflicting minimal harm.
Blocked by the Devouring Snake, the group found themselves powerless to reach Luen, the God of Hunting.
"That witchcraft power has been consumed." Rein's eyes narrowed a bit as he spoke.
"The outlook is dire."
Though the Empire's reprisal seemed dazzling and fierce, Rein understood that the moment they halted their onslaught, Luen would seize the chance to strike back; he dreaded that numerous Imperial Guardians here might perish.
"During the last fight, the Devouring Snake revered by the Secret Snake Sect didn't show up as a divine form, yet surprisingly, it's present now too." Menia knit her brows as she remarked.
"It looks like we'll have to deploy the Red Dragon King Straz ahead of schedule." Menia shattered a luminous gem clutched in her palm.
The Red Dragon King?
Rein sensed the earth quaking without delay.
"Roar!!!"
A thunderous dragon's cry boomed out.
Soon enough, the palace's central plaza's surface started crumbling, and a colossal red behemoth of a dragon rose up, revealed as the Red Dragon King Straz himself.
Without hesitation, it belched forth a huge wedge-shaped blaze toward the airborne Devouring Snake, setting the air for hundreds of meters around ablaze in a flash.
