Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1546 - 532: Group Assault (Part 2)

Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Graham roared in fury, interpreting Rein's words as an insult to His Majesty Neubu’akan, and joined the two divine creatures in launching a fierce assault on him. The Unseeable Donok spat a resilient web to ensnare Rein, while The Unhearable Kexi’er unleashed devastating ultra-high-frequency soundwaves, and Graham fired a plague beam laced with deadly infection. Rein transformed into a massive dark silver giant dragon, his body expanding enormously; he snapped the web with a claw, countered the soundwaves with a thunderous roar that shattered nearby buildings and claimed lives, and blocked the plague beam without flinching. Undeterred, Donok charged with blistering speed, its limbs clashing like arrows against Rein's claws in a storm of metal, while Graham cast Shadow Binding to encumber the dragon's movements.

"Hehe! So what if it’s the Dragon Vein Transformation, you’re still doomed to die here!" Graham's heart burst with joy as he witnessed the Shadow Binding finally taking hold.

Right next to him, "Unlistenable" Kexi’er smoothly unleashed the follow-up assault, abruptly releasing a dark green fog that swelled outward while hurtling toward Rein at great speed.

It was a toxic fog assault packed with tremendous erosive force.

Yet right when the toxic fog neared its target,

in the very next instant, the massive dark silver dragon stretching over sixty meters abruptly disappeared before all eyes, catching even Graham off guard for a moment.

Suddenly!

The dark silver dragon materialized behind the distant "Unlistenable" Kexi’er, and prior to any response from the foe, a razor-sharp, enormous dragon talon stabbed straight through its spinal column.

A second dragon talon clamped down on its armored skull, much like basketball legend O’Neal gripping an ordinary water bottle.

Since the enemy's frame measured just a few meters against Rein’s elder dragon shape, it seemed ridiculously tiny.

"Snap!"

The enemy's skull exploded right on impact!

Still, Rein’s onslaught didn’t stop there.

"Fiery Breath!"

A blazing red, cone-like blast swiftly widened, swallowing "Unlistenable" Kexi’er’s decapitated remains entirely.

...

"Space... Space Witchcraft!"

"How is that possible!" Graham cried out in horror, his words tumbling out in a stutter!

If not for space witchcraft, what could explain Rein’s huge dragon form vanishing so abruptly?

This mystery weighed even heavier than the puzzle of "Unlistenable" Kexi’er’s swift demise!

For in principle, as a shard of Nael Breccan, standard physical strikes or witchcraft harm ought to barely affect it, demanding a High Rank Wizard to unleash repeated witchcraft barrages to eliminate "Unlistenable" Kexi’er.

His earlier scheme relied on the colossal dragon Rein had become possessing strong defenses, yet its strength would wane amid mounting cursed witchcraft effects until they crushed it utterly.

At that point, the final element for Nael Breccan’s descent would fall into place, pure and potent.

However, Rein’s bizarre vanishing and sudden return wrecked his entire strategy!

...

"Hiss~ Space Witchcraft!"

A wizard from the Isodre School who had survived inhaled sharply, refusing to accept what he saw.

"Vanished for ages, and now Space Witchcraft returns!"

Yet another wizard with gray locks shook with near-mad shock!

The rest of the Isodre School wizards stood there, mouths agape at the spectacle, struggling to process it for quite some time.

At the same time, following "Unlistenable" Kexi’er’s fall, numerous everyday folks in Nirheim City began returning to their senses, the spider traits slowly receding, arms shifting back to hands, and eerie markings on their flesh gradually vanishing.

The only downside remained the inner injuries that couldn’t be avoided.

Plenty slumped over in exhaustion for a bit, yet that proved far preferable to morphing into spider horrors.

...

On Rein’s end, he promptly allocated an attribute point to restore his nearly exhausted stamina to its maximum; while ’Shadow Shifting’ offered great utility, it tied to body scale, rendering shifts tougher for bigger forms.

That explained his reluctance to deploy this special power recklessly.

As he executed ’Shadow Shifting’, he also triggered ’Dragon Soul Strike’, the core ability of his sole legendary profession so far, which inflicted true damage and served as a lethal tool against godly manifestations and shards.

Thanks to their joint impact, the toll was huge, but the payoff proved massive; one swift combination took out "Unlistenable" Kexi’er, a piece of the Evil God Nael Breccan!

Right then, the system notification chimed as expected:

[Ding! Detected an unknown high-quality energy enhancing spiritual power’s qualitative level, absorb? (Note: System absorption excludes impurities.)]

Rein’s gaze lit up at once, and he selected "Yes" without delay!

He had foreseen this benefit from the start.

In a flash, a tremendous, refined surge of power flowed from Kexi’er’s burned corpse via his dragon talon, surging directly into his consciousness.

Within his mind, the spiritual power core, once the size of a plum, grew noticeably larger!

Once the absorption finished, Rein shook his dragon talon lightly, flinging away Kexi’er’s scorched husk like a worn-out boot, before fixing his draconic stare on Graham and "Unseeable" Donok.

A bone-deep shiver gripped both of them without warning.

It felt exactly like facing the gaze of an apex hunter.

"Retreat...(chaotic speech)" Donok rasped, retreating a couple of paces.

"Whoosh!"

Donok, whose form spanned several dozen meters, flickered its pink multifaceted eyes and plunged into the earth; its four sets of massive legs clawing at the soil with incredible velocity, gone from sight in a blink.

Witnessing this, Graham broke out in icy sweat!

With Donok, whose prowess outstripped his, fleeing, he refused to stick around.

Yet pursuing Donok’s route risked Rein snaring him midway.

Therefore, Graham bolted into a separate tunnel.

Rein found himself hesitating briefly just then!

For one, he hadn’t anticipated the Evil God’s fighting spirit crumbling so fast.

For another, he weighed which target to pursue initially?

He could realistically claim only one.

After a quick deliberation, he barreled after Donok.

The logic was straightforward—Donok being another fragment of Nael Breccan meant slaying it would let him claim its divine essence.

"Boom!"

The dark silver dragon crashed into the tunnel Donok had dug, its hefty talons glowing with dense dark silver sheen as they smashed the earth!

Dark silver metallic waves rippled downward.

A barrage of metal spikes sealed off the deeper burrows, greatly hampering Donok’s excavation pace.

The dragon hunkered low and yanked free a lengthy chunk of giant leg, one of Donok’s four elongated appendages.

"Roar!!"

Letting out a furious bellow, Rein’s dark silver dragon frame tensed, muscles bulging under the scales, as Donok sensed an overwhelming force dragging that leg upward.

"Crack!"

At that sight, Donok swiftly severed the limb just in time, trying to dive deeper into the burrow.

As fast as it happened!

Rein’s spare dragon talon stabbed the dirt and speared into Donok’s flesh!

"Hiss!!"

Donok writhed in agony, snapping viciously at the intruding talon.

At the same instant, Rein invoked ’Dragon Soul Strike’, channeling scorching breath into the hole, searing Donok into a blackened arachnid.

The system alert sounded once more:

[Ding! Detected an unknown high-quality energy enhancing spiritual power’s qualitative level, absorb? (Note: System absorption excludes impurities.)]

...

Moments afterward, with the absorption done, Rein shifted back from his elder dragon state to human form.

That said, Rein observed that the gash on his left arm failed to mend on its own; peering closer, he spotted a dull black bite wound on his triceps, neither worsening nor mending, locked in stalemate.

For Rein, armed with superior poison tolerance and vitality, this marked his initial brush with such potent venom.

Rein eyed the system interface’s description, his brow furrowing faintly.

"Donok’s Poison..."
