Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1545 - 532: Group Assault
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
"Arrogant!"
With fury blazing in his eyes, Graham bellowed those words.
He instantly viewed Rein's statement as a grave offense against His Majesty Neubu’akan, never once pondering that Rein could be voicing pure honesty.
Graham didn't need to utter another word before the pair of divine beasts unleashed their assault on Rein at the same time.
"The Unseeable" Donok, that enormous spider with pink eyes born from Gorlon Giant’s corpse, abruptly ejected a sticky white net toward Rein.
A closer inspection revealed the net's edge linked by a sturdy filament that extended back to Donok’s jaws.
To put it simply, should the white net ensnare its target, that durable strand would yank back swiftly, dragging an average-sized victim straight into its savage maw without delay.
This technique ranked among Donok’s unique skills, known as "Web Grasp."
Yet, when aimed at Rein, it was fated to miss its mark.
For in that instant, Rein’s frame abruptly swelled to an unnatural size, allowing the net that should have engulfed him entirely to merely drape over part of his lower leg.
A colossal dark silver dragon loomed suddenly in front of the onlookers.
With a mere tug from a mighty dragon talon, the net shattered effortlessly!
"Dragon’s bloodline?"
"That explains your overwhelming might!" Graham's face lit up with abrupt understanding, and he exclaimed with delight:
"What a wonderful twist. Sacrificing you could make His Majesty Neubu’akan’s demigod incarnation even more formidable."
Right then, "The Unhearable" Kexi’er, possessing Stuttgart’s form, struck out at Rein as well.
This assault took the shape of an unseen, clear ripple. As it neared, it shaved the nearby earth down by several feet, and upon brushing an unwary guard, it triggered a blast that tore him to shreds on the spot.
"The Unhearable" Kexi’er appeared to wield some sort of extreme-frequency sonic assault.
"Roar!!!"
Rein’s eyes narrowed just a bit, his jaws parting wide to unleash a thunderous draconic bellow against the foe’s hidden sound surge.
The rival force of sonic energy rippled visibly in half-transparent waves through the air, smashing head-on into the enemy’s high-pitched vibrations!
Even as the crowd expected the clashing soundwaves to nullify one another or at least diminish greatly, shock rippled through them when the core zone did cancel out, but the outer fringes amplified instead.
As a result, nearby structures of the Isodre School crumbled away like loose dirt, and a handful of fogging-stage wizards from the school got surprised, swiftly disintegrating under the ferocious sonic barrage.
"These sonic blasts pack too much punch—retreat into the structures!!" yelled the silver-haired elderly wizard from Isodre.
"Is this the battle prowess of the Empire’s most youthful epic powerhouse? It’s utterly overpowering!"
"Truly, he holds his own against the Evil God’s manifestation!"
Mages from rival schools watched in alarm, grasping that Rein had held back considerably during his clash with their sect head, Stuttgart.
This revelation even sparked strong admiration among many Isodre School mages for Rein, aware he possessed the strength to crush or slay their sect leader Stuttgart with ease, yet chose to urge his submission to the Empire.
In the meantime, Graham’s strike finally closed in on Rein.
He fired off a yellowish ray carrying a pungent, rotten odor,
This was a pestilence ray, capable of infecting a peak crystallization wizard right away, sparking fever and inner hemorrhaging that would soon melt them into a foul sludge. But to Rein, it posed no real threat.
Rein held his ground without flinching, lifting a dragon talon shimmering in dark silver glow to fully intercept it.
Once Rein shifted into the ancient dragon shape, his presence surged dramatically higher, and crucially, his close-quarters fighting and shielding powers leaped ahead in every way. Within this veteran dragon guise, his superior build and toxin immunity ensured that strikes from Graham’s caliber barely scratched him, even on a direct hit.
....
None of the trio’s onslaughts could shake Rein’s ancient dragon manifestation, leaving Graham frozen in brief disbelief!
For a fleeting second, he imagined Rein standing there as a towering, eternal peak—unbreakable and utterly unyielding.
"Prey... kill... (in a chaotic language)"
"The Unseeable" Donok, being a godly embodiment, lacked Graham’s deliberations. It shrieked and promptly directed its eight razor-edged, hulking legs to charge at Rein.
Despite its immense bulk, the creature moved with astonishing swiftness!
Onlookers from the Isodre School caught only blurred streaks racing toward Rein, yet the beast was already upon him.
"Clang! Clang! Clang!!"
Donok’s forward legs, sharp as massive bolts from a ballista, thrust at Rein in a frenzy of dozens of strikes, only to get repelled by Rein’s own razor dragon talons.
In a flash, the metallic clashes rang out thick and fast, like a downpour drumming on broad leaves!
This round, Graham played it cunning. He skipped combat spells and invoked a binding curse—Shadow Binding. Dense chains of darkness coiled around Rein’s enormous ancient dragon frame...
Though Shadow Binding failed to halt Rein’s strikes entirely, it hampered his motions noticeably. Despite Rein’s strong defenses curbing the worst of it, the drop in pace was sufficient to tilt the fight’s equilibrium.
