Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1515 - 521: The Meaning of Doing as One Pleases (2)

The massive vertical pupils of Glasers scanned the area with desperation. Even as sulfurous vapors drifted across the Magma Lake, the beast detected nothing dangerous apart from the Red Dragon.
Suddenly, it sensed a change!
A flicker seemed to dance within the molten magma!
Before the creature could process the sight, an agonizing pain tore through the center of its torso!
Looking down, Glasers was gripped by pure terror!
To its horror, it realized its formidable physical form had been sliced clean in two!
"It’s Rein!!"
Egil, the Pope of the Sea God Sect, felt his fury explode as he witnessed this sudden development!
While Rein’s exact location remained hidden, the sheer power of the metallic disc that had just manifested left no doubt in Egil's mind that Rein was the attacker.
Striking from the shadows, the hidden foe had instantly neutralized the 'Smoldering Electric Eel' Glasers, an Ancient Sea Beast!
Glasers was supposed to be the Sea God Sect's primary trump card for this entire mission!
Nearby, the other high-rank Evil Sorcerers of the Sea God Sect were paralyzed with fear, their eyes wide with panic as they stood frozen!
How could the battle continue now? Their strongest warrior, Glasers, had already been slain!
Without Glasers to back them, they stood no chance against the Red Dragon looming before them!
In a single moment, the spirit of the Sea God Sect was crushed, and their morale vanished!
Fermo, the Ancient Red Dragon, turned his gaze toward Rein. A flicker of astonishment crossed his eyes before he nodded in appreciation:
"Strange and powerful human Wizard, thank you for your assistance!"
"You vermin who dare invade my territory, perish!"
With a violent flap of his leathery wings, the Ancient Red Dragon Fermo lunged forward. He clamped his jaws around the twitching upper torso of the 'Smoldering Electric Eel' Glasers, his teeth letting out a 'crunch' as they pulverized the beast's skull!
But his wrath was far from satisfied!
Fermo harbored a deep resentment toward Pope Egil and the ten-plus high-rank Evil Sorcerers who had assaulted him. He unleashed a torrent of Fiery Breath and beat his massive red wings, sending two swirling magma tornados toward the group!
"Retreat!!!"
Pope Egil screamed the order, turning to flee immediately.
It was obvious that victory was now impossible.
Even without Rein, the presence of the powerful Ancient Red Dragon alone left them at a fatal disadvantage.
"Despicable invaders, do you truly think you can escape?"
Dragons are notoriously vengeful beings.
Fermo gave chase without mercy. Although his massive frame could not fit into the narrow tunnel the Sea God Sect used, he opened his maw and blasted a wave of Fiery Breath deep into the passage!
The cone of crimson flames engulfed the entire tunnel, triggering a symphony of agonized screams!
The Dragon’s Breath of an Extremely Old Dragon possessed terrifying power. It caused Pope Egil’s defensive spells to flicker and nearly obliterated his Third Level Crystalization subordinates instantly.
As the fire died down, Egil felt a moment of relief, but it was short-lived. Looking around, he saw only two elite followers remaining; the rest had been consumed by the Heart of Blazing Breath.
Egil’s heart sank to his stomach, and he nearly coughed up blood from pure rage!
He had failed the mission given by their Goddess and lost the majority of the Sea God Sect's core strength.
Suddenly, he remembered the Divine Power Crystal the Goddess had granted him.
If he threw the crystal into the magma, the resulting volcanic explosion might not kill Rein or the Red Dragon, but it would certainly leave them badly wounded—a better outcome than fleeing like a whipped dog.
A malicious grin spread across Egil's face as he pulled out the stone glowing with Black Radiance.
In that instant, a flash of dark silver light streaked before his eyes.
Terror gripped Egil’s heart as he realized the truth!
He recognized the weapon that had cut Glasers in half!
Rein had arrived!
Egil tried to dodge, but the cramped quarters of the tunnel and the speed of the strike made a clean escape impossible.
'Shh!' His innate Defensive Witchcraft popped like a bubble. A line of blood erupted across his right shoulder, nearly cleaving his torso in two.
"Ah!!!"
Egil shrieked in pain as his right arm, still clutching the black crystal, fell to the floor.
Rein appeared nearby. Forced to abandon his severed limb and the Divine Power Crystal, Egil activated a secret escape technique, transforming into a mass of black smoke that shot toward the exit like a fleeing octopus tentacle.
Rein prepared to chase him but paused when he saw the black crystal held in the dead hand, murmuring in surprise:
"Huh? Is this... the Divine Power Crystal?"
Rein was filled with sudden joy at the discovery.
However, that brief moment of distraction allowed Pope Egil to vanish into the distance.
