Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1459 - 501: Consecutive Job Change Notifications

Rein avoided serious harm by identifying the threat early. Protected by his Steel Armor, he retreated through the air just as the blast occurred. Though the powerful shockwave threw him backward, he remained unhurt.
While being propelled through the air, Rein heard the distant roar of the explosion mingled with the furious shout of Sword Saint Terrio and the sharp cursing of Hernandez.
It was clear that the three warriors at the center of the fray had suffered far more than he had.
As the clouds of dust and debris began to settle, Rein moved like a flash, closing the distance to where the others were positioned.
Upon his arrival, Rein saw Terrio struggling to rise. A metal shard the size of a palm was wedged into his abdomen, and the Sword Saint was desperately pressing his hand against the wound.
Nearby, the Dawn Wizard Hernandez had several metallic fragments embedded in his left calf. The force of the detonation had been so immense that it had shattered his wizardry defenses.
Haleem, being a Crystallization Wizard, was the weakest of the group and had sustained the most horrific injuries. Aside from his head, his entire body was riddled with jagged metal shards, leaving him groaning in agony upon the floor.
"Lord Rein, were you successful?" Sensing someone approaching, Sword Saint Terrio held his bleeding stomach and stood up defensively. His expression shifted to one of pure shock when he realized it was Rein.
Terrio’s question immediately drew Hernandez’s attention as well.
"Fortunately, I succeeded," Rein replied with a nod.
He stepped forward quickly to inspect their wounds. Because Terrio had failed in his own attempt earlier, Rein chose not to boast or speak too much. He knew that while a speaker might be careless, a listener often takes such things to heart.
However, Rein’s humble demeanor only made Terrio and Hernandez view him as even more unfathomable!
Terrio, in particular, racked his brain but could not fathom how Rein had bypassed the three giant Demon Statues to slay the goblin corpse in the lab coat.
Knowing it was not the right time for questions, he simply looked at Rein with increased reverence.
"It is nothing, merely a flesh wound," Terrio said, signaling he was fine after treating his abdominal injury and consuming a vial of Healing Potion.
"As for Haleem, while his life isn't in danger, these injuries won't heal quickly," Terrio added, shaking his head as he looked at the groaning wizard.
The violent blast had also obliterated the wandering goblin corpses in the vicinity, creating a temporary vacuum of safety.
After assisting Hernandez and Haleem with their medical needs, Rein gestured toward the area where the lab-coated goblin had been standing.
"You all should rest. I am going to investigate that area," Rein stated.
"There might be clues regarding this site over there."
Terrio and Hernandez looked where he pointed. The explosion had cleared away the hanging chains and machinery, revealing a distant corner where several workbenches made of dark brown solid wood were visible.
Rein had spotted these workbenches during his fight with the goblin corpse.
Specifically, a pile of documents on one of the tables had piqued his interest.
While some papers were neatly arranged, many others were strewn across the surface in total disarray.
Rein even caught the glint of several memory crystals shining under the ambient light on the desk.
Exchanging a look, Terrio and Hernandez nodded and said, "Understood, Lord Rein. Please be cautious."
Truthfully, they were well aware of the Federation Congress's directive: they were supposed to prevent Rein from claiming any ancient goblin technology within these ruins.
The problem was that Rein had essentially saved their lives.
To try and stop him now would not only violate their personal morals but would also be a grave insult to an epic-level powerhouse.
Consequently, neither Terrio nor Hernandez attempted to interfere, choosing instead to watch as Rein walked toward the far workbench.
Rein soon reached the corner station.
The chaotic mess of paper confirmed that the original occupants had fled or been interrupted suddenly, leaving no time to organize their records.
Rein reached out to flip through a few pages, but unfortunately, the passage of thousands of years had taken its toll. Even in the dry air of the second underground floor, the paper crumbled into dust at his touch.
This was the inevitable decay of organic fibers over millennia.
Without specific preservation spells or wizardry protection, keeping them intact was impossible.
However, judging by the faded yellow diagrams, these appeared to be technical manuscripts for mechanical devices rather than the journals or diaries Rein needed to solve the mystery of the ruins.
Rein felt no disappointment, however.
His focus shifted to the three memory crystals on the workbench, which were still emitting a faint glow.
Memory crystals were far more durable than paper or parchment.
This longevity was exactly why ancient wizard sects utilized them to store their most vital data.
