Urban Seduction: Housewives Club Chapter 1821 - 0150: The Shadows of Childhood 2

Previously on Urban Seduction: Housewives Club...
Wang Yue encounters Li Yingying outside a restaurant where she is working a part-time job between her classes. After she clarifies that she is not dating the student council members who have been approaching her, the two share a walk through her school campus. They discuss the hardships her family has faced and the protective role Wang Yue plays in her sister’s life, leading to a moment of growing closeness and mutual comfort. As they stroll past admiring students, Wang Yue begins to inquire whether she faces any trouble or harassment from her peers at school.

Lost in her own little world of secret joy, Li Yingying was startled for a moment before she caught on and beamed. "No, the regulations at our school are quite rigid. Besides, I am one of Teacher Huang’s students. Not even Liu Sheng would dare lay a finger on me on campus, so no one else would have the courage either."

"Teacher Huang?" Wang Yue mused internally. Could a simple high school instructor really hold that much influence?

"Indeed, Teacher Huang instructs us in classical literature and serves as our homeroom teacher. She looks after us with great care," Li Yingying explained. "She is also stunningly beautiful; she was actually ranked among the ’Twelve Beauties of Jinling.’"

The words had barely left her lips before Li Yingying felt a wave of regret.

She understood her circumstances perfectly and knew a romance with Wang Yue was an impossibility. Yet, how could a young girl harboring a crush not long to see the object of her affection more often?

Subconsciously, she wished for Wang Yue to visit frequently, but she simultaneously fretted over whether her own charms were sufficient. That was why she mentioned Teacher Huang—after all, don't boys usually gravitate toward beautiful women?

However, once the statement was made, she felt she had gone too far. Teacher Huang was so kind to her—using her as bait to attract a boy felt shameful. She scolded herself for being so wicked.

Wang Yue, oblivious to Li Yingying’s internal emotional turmoil, inquired, "Is this Teacher Huang of yours... Huang Xueyi?"

"She is! How are you aware of that? Are the two of you acquainted?" Li Yingying asked, her eyes wide with shock.

"I know her quite well. She happens to be my third aunt’s younger sister. It would be more surprising if I didn’t know her," Wang Yue remarked, his expression turning somewhat peculiar.

His third aunt, Huang Yuxiang, did not hail from a clan of martial artists but from a prestigious lineage of scholars. For countless generations, her family had produced renowned literati, and Huang Yuxiang herself was celebrated as the most intellectual woman in Jinling.

Huang Xueyi was over a decade younger than Huang Yuxiang. Perhaps due to being the baby of the family, her parents had spoiled her rotten, resulting in a personality that was both mischievous and prone to violence.

Wang Yue still carried psychological scars from his childhood because of her. When he was seven, he had accidentally injured his young cousin Wang Zhiting during a scuffle. Huang Xueyi, witnessing this, had delivered a brutal punishment by stripping his pants and striking his private areas.

Wang Yue had sobbed for hours afterward, and Huang Xueyi received a harsh scolding from her sister for the incident. Their relationship turned bitter from that day forward. She continued to torment him at every opportunity until Li Menglan entered his life, finally providing him an escape from that misery. Nevertheless, the persona of Huang Xueyi as a violent "witch" was burned into Wang Yue’s memory.

Having endured the darkness and trials of his previous life, those childhood traumas had mostly faded for Wang Yue. Still, he found it hard to envision what kind of educator that violent "witch" could possibly be.

Furthermore, based on Li Yingying's description, the "witch" seemed to be quite well-liked. Had she truly transformed into an "angel" in the intervening years?

As for her academic credentials, Wang Yue had no doubts. Being raised in such a scholarly household meant that even if she lacked her sister's genius, she was more than qualified to instruct high schoolers.

"Wang Yue, what are you thinking about?" Li Yingying asked, noticing his distant gaze.

"It's nothing. I just find it hard to picture how your Teacher Huang behaves during a lecture," Wang Yue admitted candidly.

A bright idea struck Li Yingying. "That’s simple! Teacher Huang has a class this afternoon. You should come and observe for yourself."

"Is that allowed? Didn't you say the school rules are strict? Can I really just slip into the room?" Wang Yue asked, surprised by the suggestion.

Li Yingying gave a firm nod. "As long as you remain low-key, it won't be an issue. You’re the same age as everyone else, so you’ll blend right in with the students."

In her mind, however, she added: Except for the fact that you are far more handsome than any of them.

Intrigued and having no other plans, Wang Yue agreed, "Alright, let’s give it a go."

With only minutes remaining before the afternoon session commenced, Li Yingying escorted Wang Yue straight to her classroom—Grade 10, Class 2.

Their arrival immediately drew every eye in the room. The girls stared at Wang Yue, mesmerized by his striking looks, while the boys felt a pang of jealousy. Who was this newcomer? Why was he standing so close to Li Yingying? Had the goddess of their hearts actually found someone?

Flustered by the intense scrutiny, Li Yingying’s cheeks flushed crimson as she guided Wang Yue to the desks and invited him to sit beside her.

Modern high schools weren't as packed as they were centuries ago; classes typically consisted of only about thirty pupils. Furthermore, certain subjects allowed for auditors from other classes, leaving plenty of vacant seats.

Seeing him sit there only deepened the heartbreak of the local boys.

However, teenagers are driven by impulse and passion, rarely hesitating to speak their minds. Before long, a stout boy walked up to Wang Yue and asked, "Hey man, which class are you from? I haven't seen your face around here."

Wang Yue offered a smile. "I don't actually attend this school; I'm just visiting for the day."

The stout boy glanced toward Li Yingying and lowered his voice. "So, what’s the deal between you and Li Yingying?"

"We're family... I'm her cousin," Wang Yue answered smoothly.

A collective sigh of relief swept through the stout boy and the other eavesdropping males. Their glares softened instantly into welcoming expressions.

Li Yingying, conversely, felt a twinge of sadness. She secretly wished Wang Yue would claim to be her boyfriend, even if it were a lie for the sake of appearances.

As the tension evaporated, the boys grew friendly, greeting Wang Yue and peppering him with questions. Wang Yue replied with ease, finding himself genuinely enjoying the interaction.

Being the third son of the prestigious Wang family, his social standing was high. However, because his brothers were much older and most of his companions were female, he had often felt isolated. This was his first experience speaking so openly with peers his own age.

The experience was unexpectedly soothing. Since his rebirth, he had been burdened by the looming events of three years from now and the mysteries surrounding them. Only in this simple environment did he finally feel a sense of true liberation.

The opening period of the afternoon wasn't Huang Xueyi’s classical literature class, but a different subject. The arriving teacher failed to notice Wang Yue and dove straight into the lesson.

Wang Yue sat quietly, listening to the rhythmic drone of the lecture while observing the room—some students were focused, others were lost in thought, and a few were even nodding off.

All of a sudden, his mind achieved a state of absolute clarity. Various complex concepts regarding Cultivation and martial arts that had previously eluded him now seemed perfectly transparent in this peaceful atmosphere.
