Titan King: Ascension of the Giant Chapter 1416 No Mercy

Previously on Titan King: Ascension of the Giant...
Orion boldly integrated the defiant Seraphina into Blackstone City, possessively guiding her alongside Lilith into the keep amid lingering tensions. Days blurred into hedonistic indulgence as he rotated between his apex-power lovers, while the women's dynamic balanced pride, intimacy, and subtle rivalry. In the Eastern Caverns, Lorelia dreamed of a childish silhouette named Zerin, who revealed his drive for insectoid ascension and freedom, urging her to escape her contract at the Wormholes. Alerted through their soul bond, Orion roused from bed and confronted the suspicious intrusion with Lorelia, his playful Broodmother.

"Master, I've discovered a treasure!"

Lorelia's enthusiasm always spread like wildfire when treasures were involved.

"Hurry, Master! You must check this out. I've uncovered a fresh domain."

Grabbing Orion by the hand, she hauled him forcefully toward the depths below.

Down they went into a maze of underground channels, home to Lorelia's former nest. But now, an unexpected addition scarred the terrain next to her den: a deep, shadowy abyss without end, absent just yesterday.

"It's this spot. The pit formed overnight," Lorelia explained.

Without waiting for Orion's reply, she let go and jumped in. With the elegance of a koi fish gliding into water, she plunged into the gloom and disappeared at once.

The Wormholes Realm, Core Zone.

This bizarre, otherworldly space twisted the mind. Its terrain mimicked a massive, living honeycomb, scarred by endless depressions.

Within those depressions sat vats of thick, jelly-like material—nutrient gel meant to accelerate the growth of insectoids.

Lorelia glided effortlessly across the area, making a beeline for the biggest depression in the middle. There rested a shiny, meaty larva, about four inches in length.

"Zerin! Your Big Sister is here to see you!"

Giggling, Lorelia scurried over to the golden larva and extended a limb to prod its tender, jointed form.

Stirring from the nudge, the golden larva started to awaken its eyes.

Smack!

With a brutal strike, Lorelia sent the being into oblivion right away. It flipped over, revealing a underside marked by numerous golden symbols.

"Whoops. Master's here for a check-up, I almost forgot," Lorelia murmured slyly. "Stay asleep, little Zerin; it'll be easier that way. Hee hee!"

Such a cackle belonged to a genuine fiend.

Just then, the fabric of space rippled afar. Orion entered the Wormholes.

"What is this feeling..."

Demigod suppression?

As soon as Orion passed the boundary, an odd, aggressive energy crashed against him. The domain appeared to spurn his arrival, striving to chain him and cast him out.

Yet the effort proved pointless. Though the pressure struck swiftly, Orion countered even quicker. Bursting forth his sacred presence, he broke the unseen bonds in a flash.

"Fascinating. Some kind of filter aimed at Demigod-level or above?"

Holding firm, Orion spread his awareness. While probing the Wormholes' layout, he studied the pressure's impact.

As a Broodmother, Lorelia encountered no barriers in this place. But Orion battled resistance with each move on arrival.

Does a rule of this sub-realm govern it naturally, or did the foes impose this limit?

Orion suspected the second option. The focus felt too precise.

"Hmph."

With one stride, he bent reality to teleport beside Lorelia in an instant.

"Master! Blame this pathetic pest," Lorelia shouted, jabbing a claw toward the knocked-out larva. "Last night, he invaded my sleep! He aimed to kidnap me, pull me to his hideout for horrible deeds! Without my smarts, you could've lost me forever!"

In theatrical sobs, she smeared phony tears and mucus across Orion's armor.

Orion sighed inwardly. This entity was merely a Larva. Lorelia ranked as an ancient top hunter. The notion of the larva snatching her was absurd; Zerin had clearly been the fool.

Realizing her theatrics failed to draw pity, Lorelia quit pretending at once. Drawing near Orion, her face grew intensely grave.

"Master, this tiny beast reeks of pure nourishment. Loaded with protein."

Lips smacking, drool gathered as she spoke. "How about we grill him?"

Her suggestion held no jest.

"Nah, he's too small. Grilling would drain every bit of fat," she grumbled to herself. "Hand him to Ursa instead. She'll steam him perfectly. Perhaps pair with a tasty sauce..."

Hunger sparked in her gaze, overriding all else. Her talons extended slowly toward the golden larva.

Smack.

Orion smacked her claw aside.

"This creature serves my purpose. Keep it breathing." He motioned to the nearby depressions. "High-quality sustenance fills those pools. Check if your spider-kin can utilize them."

Bending low, Orion locked eyes on the golden larva.

"Oh..."

Barred from her treat and assigned a task, Lorelia sulked. With reluctance, she pivoted and dashed away to examine the gel pools.

After her departure, Orion's eyes sharpened. He bent to lift the senseless Zerin.

No more than a Larva, it lay in a stupor from Lorelia's rough blow.

A method Orion gained earlier came to mind: Devouring Avatar.

This forbidden skill let the practitioner consume a young being's essence and claim its form as an extra shell. One key flaw existed: full success demanded the target's unconscious state. Awake and fighting back, the odds dropped sharply.

To uncover foe secrets, this chance was ideal.

Acting swiftly, a vivid red glow burst from Orion's palm, encircling the golden larva like a silken wrap.

In the following instant, Orion sent his mind into the larva.

Inside the Mindscape.

The vastness of Zerin's awareness rang a bell.

Nearly an exact copy of the Wormholes realm Orion had traversed bodily moments ago. Born there probably, Zerin knew no other vision.

"Who are you?"

A foggy, childlike image floated in emptiness—the embodiment of Zerin's spirit.

Gazing upon the essence, Orion saw its frailty. In larval stage among insectoids, the mind remained raw and breakable.

Failing to consume such a trivial foe would disqualify Orion from Demigod status.

"Time to reveal your true schemes."

Ignoring Zerin's query, Orion showed no compassion.

Enemies they were. Warfare drew no lines by age, just survivors versus fallen. Tales overflowed with fallen overlords who faltered through kindness.

WAAAGH!

The Stoneheart Titan's thought-form roared.

That cry rattled the mindscape's core. Abruptly, a huge shape arose over Zerin—a four-headed, eight-limbed Titan, body glowing with fierce golden markings. Its crown brushed the mindscape's peak.

Squelch.

Zerin perished.

His awareness shattered in a heartbeat.

No strike from Orion occurred. Merely advancing, his soul's immense force pulverized Zerin into oblivion.

Their divide wasn't mere scale; it spanned realms.

With Zerin's fade, Orion's giant shape contracted fast, striding to the site of the young spirit's end. Drawing breath, he drew in all remnants of the Larva's broken recollections.
