"BOOOOOOM!"
Deeply buried into the earth, Sozing remained while Cain hurtled far away, his form tumbling wildly across the roads until he almost hit the dome's boundary. Flames burst in the atmosphere surrounding him as he skidded to a halt, scorched by the tremendous velocity still surging within his tissues.
The Scarlet King paused motionless for merely an instant.
Afterward, he compelled the Asura Form to deactivate, drawing on the final echoes of strength from the Samsara Runic Set to steady his inner organs. The splits over his heart and the ruptured veins started mending because of the violet fires burning fiercely inside him.
"Puack!"
Despite the aid of his Samsara Immortal Body, a gush of blood erupted from his lips as he tried to stand. His breaths came in harsh gasps, each one tearing painfully across his torso, and
overwhelming fatigue pressed upon him like an immense peak. Yet the Scarlet King refused to drop his vigilance.
His eyes stayed locked on the enormous pit where the Immortal Knight lay entombed.
Drawing a deliberate, even breath, Cain advanced toward the depression. His hands shimmered softly with lingering energy, his stance rigid and ready to unleash a decisive blow.
All at once, the earth quaked.
The shadowy metropolis shuddered fiercely as a seismic upheaval burst under Cain's soles. Before he could pinpoint the source, a shadowy orb surged from the pit and shot into the dome's heavens. In a mere flash, it unleashed a crushing gravitational force.
The synthetic sun created by Redirection vanished in an instant.
Ruined edifices came next, torn from their bases and yanked howling into the heights. But none endured the tug more brutally than Cain.
His frame rocketed skyward abruptly, crashing through warped heaps of steel and liquid fire that swiftly merged around an expanding dark nucleus. The Scarlet King fought to ascend, tensing every fiber to oppose the drag.
Cain sensed his survival senses howling in peril, urging him to flee right away, yet before he could act, additional debris from demolished forms slammed onto him, entombing his physique under endless heaps of debris.
In that exact instant, Sozing emerged from the pit.
One side of his frame lay destroyed-his left limb crushed, his torso fractured, sections of his visage missing-yet he raised his remaining arm. Crimson fluid streamed from every opening and gash as he kept feeding energy into the heavenly sphere overhead, pulling ever greater might into its core.
The pull grew fiercer as whole structures ascended into the atmosphere.
The Immortal Knight's form shook wildly as he drove the method onward, squeezing and packing the swelling bulk until finally, a fresh iron satellite took shape within the dome.
The Immortal Knight wavered, scarcely managing to stay on his feet. His respirations grew heavy, his sight hazy, but a grin gradually crept over his mangled features.
He had employed this method once prior-during the Great War eons ago-to confine one of the foes' commanders, a being that had almost razed a whole Empyrean World.
"CRACK!"
The grin halted abruptly.
Fissures formed over the iron satellite's exterior.
"Impossible!" Sozing bellowed.
The breaks expanded swiftly, widening and deepening. Then armaments started protruding from the satellite's interior-blades, spears, and devices firing out in all directions. Initially just a handful, but others joined, demolishing vast segments of alloy until the whole form burst apart.
The iron satellite detonated.
From its depths rose the Scarlet King.
Behind him, the Gate of Babylon appeared in full glory.
Cain's stare fixed on Sozing as the myriad gateways fused into a single one, spawning a lone Chaos Weapon. The lance emitted countless powers, its essence warping the atmosphere nearby. As Cain seized it, his presence erupted in a savage burst.
"ZNNNNNN-"
The Scarlet King surged ahead, the lance gleaming with horrifying velocity.
Sozing channeled all his leftover might into a ultimate repelling surge, unleashing it precisely when Cain neared. The impact exploded between them, twisting the void itself.
Still, the repelling force couldn't overpower the Scarlet King.
Cain clenched his jaws and pressed on against the smothering force, inching forward bit by bit. His sinews howled, crimson dripping from his eyes and lips as he compelled his frame
ahead.
Sozing bellowed, injecting further vigor into the method, yet his reserves were spent. His physique quivered fiercely, teetering on the edge of
breakdown.
The lance kept progressing.
Then-
"ZZNNN!"
The noise of ripping tissue resounded through the devastation as the lance stabbed directly through Sozing's frame-through his heart.
"ARGHHHH!"
Cain let out a last cry as he poured every ounce of his leftover power,
propelling both the lance and the Immortal Knight across the metropolis. Edifices and avenues were annihilated in their wake as they ripped
through the terrain.
The following moment, Cain crumpled.
He slammed into the soil with force, hardly able to inhale as Resurrección shut off, reverting him to his standard state. His form shuddered without control, each sinew protesting sharply.
Following a genuinely fierce clash, he had at last hit his boundary.
It required a few moments before he could prop himself up. His sight swam as he glanced at the remote structure where the Immortal
Knight of the Tenth Empyrean World hung pierced.
Sozing ceased all motion.
Every sign of his essence and aura vanished swiftly.
"I need to use the throne before he-"
Cain halted abruptly.
A fresh aura emerged.
Icy dread surged through his bloodstream.
His gaze shot skyward as a spectral extraterrestrial being appeared over
Sozing's corpse-an horror bearing five craniums. Four of them hung inert, their orbs dim and vacant, but the central one still flickered with consciousness.
"There weren't four..." Cain murmured. "There were five?" The spectral shape folded inward until just the middle cranium
lingered-an being like a ruler of demise, its ebony hide shining as a broad, warped smile stretched over its visage. Beneath Cain's stunned stare, the being laid its palm on Sozing's
cranium.
In the subsequent flash, it ripped free the Immortal Knight's spirit-along with the spirits of Bako and Hako.
