The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order Chapter 2359 New enemies? (I)
Previously on The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order...
The unrestrained release of power from countless powerhouses and Runic War Avatars caused entire continents to burst into flames instantly. Massive waves of energy incinerated seas of decay and flesh, making the surface of the World of the Root shudder as though it were howling in agony.
Naturally, the elite experts of the World of the Root would not stand by and let such destruction continue without a response.
While Cain and Robuke were locked in combat, Radagon managed to reconstruct his physical form. As soon as his body stabilized, he blurred forward, intercepting Anark in a brutal collision. A look of gravity crossed the face of the True Primordial of the Void as Radagon’s power flared. Within the World of the Root, the King of the Root was a terrifying opponent, his strength amplified by his deep connection to the tainted world.
However, Anark did not face him alone.
Radagon had reformed his body, but his soul and essence still bore the scars of the strike from the Gate of Babylon. Because of that persistent damage, Anark was able to meet him head-on, their exchange of blows rippling across the battlefield as corruption and void repeatedly clashed. Shortly after, more powerful figures began to materialize across the surface.
High Lords and Champions of the Root emerged, similar to those encountered during the Invasion of the Heart of the Root, though their current strength was far greater. During their previous encounter, their power and Gifts had been stunted by an interrupted gestation. Now, however, they had reached full maturity, nourished by the life force of what was once the Abyssalcrown Empyrean World.
They were no longer mere unfinished nightmares.
They had become weapons of devastating power.
Fortunately, the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance had also undergone its own evolution. With reforged Ego Waves, refined techniques, and new treasures—
A solitary command was all it took.
Demonstrating how much the alliance had progressed, they marched into the center of the enemy's territory without a hint of dread or hesitation.
Cain was well aware that this was not the final confrontation.
Before an hour could pass, he noticed the breach in the Wall of Fire and Flesh beginning to seal at a dangerous pace. He shouted a new order: "Retreat!"
The warriors shifted their formations immediately. With perfect synchronization, they broke away from the engagement and withdrew in an organized manner, leaving the surface of the World of the Root to return to the void beyond the Wall of Fire and Flesh.
Radagon and the other powerhouses of the Root tried to block their exit. They understood that if the wall closed while the enemies were still inside, the World of the Root itself would consume those warriors. Yet, the coordination of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance was flawless. Not a single person was left behind.
The spear and axe of Cain and Robuke continued to meet with catastrophic impact. Suddenly, as their weapons collided once more, the spear held by the Scarlet King detonated.
A massive explosion of Entropy and Nihility burst in every direction, drowning the battlefield in chaos. Robuke’s perception was momentarily blinded, his senses overwhelmed by the corrosive void energy.
By the time the beast found Cain again, the Scarlet King had already retreated into the void along with the final group of warriors.
Robuke seethed with a murderous bloodlust.
He felt the urge to pursue.
He could sense that Cain’s remaining energy had dropped to a dangerously low level. However, despite being more powerful than Radagon, he still submitted to the will of the Root. His savage gaze stayed locked on Cain until the Wall of Fire and Flesh finally hummed shut.
A heavy silence descended.
Cain watched the World of the Root with a freezing gaze.
"This was a successful beginning," he whispered, his face showing no emotion. "However, one of those entities from the Emptiness has yet to show their hand. If I let my guard down now, the situation will become incredibly perilous."
Strengthening his resolve, Cain looked toward the warriors of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance and offered a smile.
"We have demonstrated our might," he spoke calmly. "We have proven that even those who claim to be eternal and endless can be consumed by our flames. Take your rest. Many more battles await us until we burn their world to cinders, layer by layer."
Expressions of exhilaration and triumph spread across the warriors' faces as they made their way back to the Golden Hall. Many began the process of restoring their energy and healing their wounds immediately, while others prepared for the coming phases of the war without a moment's pause.
Cain, Anark, Amara, Cipher, Zephirax, Arkam, and Uriel assembled in the chamber where the portals to the Empyrean Worlds were kept. They took their places, ready to deliberate on their next strategy.
Then—
Their gazes sharpened.
Two portals started to shimmer with light.
And that light did not belong to any of their own Empyrean Worlds.
