The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order Chapter 2314 Outmaneuvered by the Ancient One

Previously on The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order...
Cain receives a harrowing revelation from the Demon King regarding a mysterious third universe responsible for the historical fracture of the Nine Empyrean Suns and the near-destruction of the Crimson World. This hidden force, which once enslaved the Depravita race, remains a looming shadow that even the Demon King is magically forbidden from fully identifying. Furthermore, the Demon King warns that the Ancient One’s plan for Unification will cause a catastrophic collision between universes, forcing their Wills into a bloody, unavoidable war. Faced with the prospect of his two homes destroying one another, Cain realizes the only way to prevent the coming slaughter is to eliminate the Ancient One.

"Kill the Ancient One."

Cain’s eyes were filled with a chilling ruthlessness as he uttered those words. Though the statement was heavy with murderous intent, his pragmatism quickly resurfaced, cooling his heated resolve like a sudden frost.

Cain was no fool, and he possessed a clear understanding of his current constraints. Despite his immense strength, he recognized that he was not yet capable of slaying an entity standing at the absolute apex of the Alpha-Omega Overgod Rank. He lived in the world of reality, where mere desire could not grant him omnipotence.

Consequently, he had to pivot toward a much more achievable goal for the time being.

"Stop him from reaching the King of the Crimson World."

This was a task within his grasp. While it wouldn't provide a permanent solution or end the looming catastrophe, it would buy him the necessary time—time to halt the merging of the universes and time to refine his Cultivation until he was powerful enough to execute the Ancient One once and for all.

His eyes narrowed with sharp intensity.

"How much progress has the Ancient One made toward breaking the boundaries of the Crimson World to reach the King?"

Hearing the inquiry, the Demon King’s expression turned somber and grave.

"The path forward has already been discovered by him."

The Demon King let out a soft sigh before elaborating.

"The Eternity Gate is the sole passage to the King of the Crimson World. This gateway is hidden on Origin Island, a unique dimension concealed within the Ninth Realm. To enter, one must fashion a Crimson Key from the distilled essence of the nine Realms—a feat only possible by achieving total dominance over every Realm."

Cain’s brow furrowed at this revelation. Even with the chaos unfolding in the upper Realms, the Second Realm remained standing due to his intervention, and the Third Realm was currently prevailing. Under these conditions, the creation of a Crimson Key should have been an impossibility.

Noticing Cain’s skepticism, the Demon King gave a knowing nod. "While our forces are struggling in certain areas, we haven't suffered total defeat anywhere. Theoretically, the Crimson Key cannot be formed. However, the Ancient One has crafted the components using a substitute—something that resonates perfectly with the core energy of each Realm."

Cain pondered the statement for a heartbeat before the truth struck him like a bolt of lightning. "The lives of the cultivators dwelling within those Realms."

A bittersweet smile touched the Demon King’s lips as he confirmed Cain's suspicion. "Precisely. The very war I ignited to block the Ancient One from the Origin Island served as the furnace to forge that Crimson Key."

Admitting he had been outplayed was difficult, yet the Demon King did not shy away from the truth. Rather than wallowing in his tactical defeat, he was already focused on a new strategy.

"With that Key, the barrier to Origin Island will fall before him. But the trek from the entrance to the Eternity Gate is a long one. If we can arrive first and hold the line until the Origin Island disappears, we will gain the time needed to plan our next move."

Cain gave a silent nod of agreement. The path ahead promised to be a bloodbath. The Ancient One would surely lead his most elite warriors into the Origin Island. Furthermore, any place serving as a sanctuary for the King of the Crimson World was bound to be treacherous and unlike any environment they had ever navigated.

"What information do you possess regarding Origin Island?"

The Demon King slowly shook his head in the negative.

"We were on the verge of reaching it during the Great War, but Adam intercepted us before we could step inside. The island only manifested for a few years, and once it vanished, it stayed hidden for an age. I was already trapped by Adam’s Power of Chaos when the next opening occurred, so I have no knowledge of what lies within."

"It sounds like we are heading into a journey defined by the unknown," Cain remarked quietly. He loathed dealing with unpredictable variables, but there was no alternative. Progression was the only option.

He pressed further, his focus sharpening. "When and where does the Ancient One intend to use the Crimson Key to enter Origin Island?"

The Demon King provided an immediate response.

"An eclipse is required for the opening. The next natural occurrence was twenty-five years away, but the Ancient One has warped the laws of nature to accelerate the event. I have tethered a portion of my soul to the Ninth Realm’s fabric to delay it, but my influence is waning. As for the location..."

The Demon King paused, casting a significant look at Cain.

"That is where your role becomes vital. Only the possessor of the Crimson Key is supposed to know the coordinates of the opening. However, the Power of Chaos transcends such limits—it can reveal anything to you, even a dimensional rift on the far side of the Realm."

A faint smile played on Cain’s face as the Demon King’s motives finally became clear. While Cain was not yet the strongest being in the Crimson World, his Power of Chaos granted him a unique utility. No matter how the Ancient One attempted to cloak his movements, Cain’s ability would allow them to pinpoint the entrance and arrive in time.

"In that case, we should not dally."

A fierce determination blazed within Cain’s crimson eyes. The expedition to Origin Island would be perilous enough to claim the lives of many Alpha-Omega Overgods, but retreat was not an option. To falter now would be to surrender the future to certain extinction.

Approving of Cain's resolve, the Demon King nodded. He then shifted his attention toward Meylin and the Enlightened One. The pair had finished integrating the treasures into their souls and physical forms. As the Demon King observed them, the subtle vibrations in their auras and spirits brought a smile to his face.

"They are ready to join us."

They had successfully synchronized with the artifacts, and their transition toward the Alpha-Omega Overgod Rank was already in motion. They would possess enough power to survive the coming trials—or, at the very least, they wouldn't fall instantly.
