Capítulo 2300: I will kill them
A murderous chill ignited within Skull Lord’s gaze as he watched the Neo-Angel attempt a retreat. There was no possibility he would allow his foe to depart so easily, especially after an ambush that had nearly inflicted catastrophic injuries upon him.
The explosive momentum of his war horse surged, its power multiplying as Skull Lord executed a final, devastating charge. He unleashed a slashing force with the intent to sunder reality itself. Beneath the beast's hooves, the very fabric of space shuddered, and cracks spider-webbed across the firmament like shattering glass.
The Neo-Angel, though forced backward, did not immediately fall. With teeth clenched in desperation, he manifested multiple layers of defensive Qi, trading his tactical position for precious seconds. Every impact reverberated with the intensity of a dying star, yet the Neo-Angel gradually fulfilled his objective.
One after another, the ArchDeities of the Freedom Path broke away from the conflict and fled. They tore through the dimensional fabric, opening escape rifts and vanishing into the distance, putting leagues between themselves and the carnage.
Only after his followers had reached safety did the Neo-Angel make his own exit. Casting one last look of pure hatred and resentment at the Scarlet King, he grabbed the fractured Prototype and disappeared into a violent warp of space.
For several moments, Skull Lord stood perfectly still. The savage aura radiating from him continued to expand, as if on the verge of erupting into a mindless massacre.
But his nature as a True Depravita prevailed. Slowly, he regained mastery over his soul. His breathing became rhythmic once more. The turbulent energy subsided as he deactivated his Redemption Incarnation. The colossal war horse dissolved into shimmering specks of violet light, and the titanic power surrounding him flickered out like dying embers after a gale.
Without delay, Skull Lord turned his attention to the warriors on the ground, his voice ringing out with an authority that demanded absolute obedience.
“Return to your territories. Bolster your fortifications. Tend to the injured.”
The surviving ArchDeities paused for only a heartbeat. Many directed wary and inquisitive looks toward the Scarlet King, wondering about the identity of this being with crimson wings.
An individual capable of interfering in a clash between Alpha-Omega Overgods was certainly a figure of immense significance.
However, Skull Lord’s word was law. They offered deep bows and departed in silence.
Within seconds, a profound quiet settled over the battlefield.
Only four individuals remained present.
Skull Lord, Cain, Meylin, and the Enlightened One.
The True Depravita faced the group and pressed his hands together, offering a deep bow that carried the weight of sincere appreciation.
“You have my gratitude,” Skull Lord stated with gravity. “The Prototype caught me off guard. Without your intervention, the results might have been disastrous.”
Cain returned the gesture with a subtle smile, and Meylin and the Enlightened One did the same. To see such a powerful figure as Skull Lord display such humility was unusual. Often, those at the peak of Cultivation discarded basic manners, particularly when dealing with those of lower realms. This display of respect left a positive impact on the three.
After rising, Skull Lord’s eyes passed over Meylin before focusing intently on Cain.
“Zarazel notified me of your coming,” he remarked. “However, you arrived much earlier than anticipated. How did you transition into the Fourth Realm with such speed? Is there a hidden portal I am unaware of?”
Cain was not surprised by the inquiry. A secret gateway between realms could be weaponized by the Freedom Path, allowing countless waves of reincarnation to flood in and potentially collapse the stability of the Fourth Realm.
“I utilized the Power of Chaos,” Cain answered evenly. “I identify the fragile points within the realm barriers and travel through them directly.”
Skull Lord went rigid.
A flash of shock crossed his face, followed rapidly by a mix of skepticism and wonder.
“The Power of Chaos?” he asked. “The very same energy Adam once used to assist my Master’s evolution? You are capable of wielding such a force!?”
Cain arched an eyebrow, feeling a hint of surprise. Zarazel hadn't reacted so strongly to the sight of Chaos; he had acknowledged its strength but not its historical weight.
Skull Lord, conversely, seemed well-versed in its legacy. This suggested he shared a much closer bond with the Demon King than the True Depravita of Fear did.
“Yes,” Cain confirmed with a nod. “That very power.”
The reverence in Skull Lord’s eyes grew. To him, Chaos was more than mere raw power—it was the very spark that enabled the Demon King to transcend his limitations and become a Primal True Depravita. Very few beings in existence could even perceive such energy, let alone control it.
After a long silence, Skull Lord let out a slow breath and recovered his poise.
“My Master has seen your message,” he informed them. “He has not only consented to a meeting—he is keen to see you. There are vital topics he wishes to address with you in person.”
Cain’s expression brightened.
“You must attain the Fifth Realm within the next six months,” Skull Lord added. “He will seek you out there.”
A broad grin appeared on Cain’s face. Securing an audience with the Demon King was a top priority. While six months was a significant duration, he wasn't about to complain. Managing a war across different planes left no room for idleness.
“Understood,” Cain replied. “I shall be there.”
A momentary hush fell between them. Then, Cain’s gaze sharpened, a lethal spark dancing in his red eyes.
“What of our task here in the Fourth Realm?”
A conflicted shadow passed through Skull Lord’s eyes.
“Before I give you an answer,” he said with caution, “reveal to me your intentions regarding the Three Moons.”
Cain took a moment to consider.
Skull Lord was vastly more powerful than him and was the undisputed commander of the Life Path in this realm. If he chose to block Cain’s path, reaching the Three Moons would be an impossible feat.
“They meddled with my fate,” Cain finally declared. “They spoke prophecies concerning me. The most recent one put me right in the crosshairs of the Ancient One. I intend to discover the reason why.”
Skull Lord watched Cain with an inscrutable expression.
“And should their explanation prove unsatisfactory?” he questioned.
“I will kill them.”
The declaration was made without a trace of doubt. Cain’s tone was steady, certain, and final. He would not permit anyone to manipulate his destiny without consequences.
After a brief beat, Cain added.
“Naturally, I will postpone any action until the conflict with the Ancient One has concluded. You have my word on that.”
