The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order Chapter 2290 Chaos of Worldbreak: Ragnarök (I)
Previously on The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order...
Violent detonations ripped through the highest reaches of the sky, high above the Second Realm of the Crimson World.
"BOOOOOM!"
"BOOM!"
"BOOOOOOOOOOM!"
"BOOOOOOM!"
Each blast was more powerful than the last, destructive shockwaves slamming into one another as the Neo-Angel and Neo-Demon fought without holding back. The sheer pressure caused space to buckle, creating lethal vacuums where no one below the ArchDeity Realm could hope to survive. Beneath the weight of their combat, reality itself seemed to scream.
Urin initiated the next exchange.
Her hand blurred forward at speeds exceeding light, aiming directly for the face of Cain. Cain’s reaction was instantaneous; his blade intercepted her wrist to parry the strike. Even though the blow was deflected, the Neo-Angel’s explosive power triggered regardless. A localized, catastrophic blast erupted right next to Cain’s head.
His face was consumed by fire.
Muscle and flesh were incinerated in a flash, the searing heat reaching all the way to the bone. It was an agonizing sensation—pain intense enough to break the focus of almost any living being in the universe.
Despite the torment, Cain didn't even flinch. His gaze remained steady and calm, his concentration never wavering for even a fraction of a second.
Sky Devourer descended in a sharp vertical strike, with destruction so concentrated along the edge that the fabric of space-time unraveled as it passed. The sword shrieked during its descent, wiping out the very laws of nature that tried to oppose it.
Urin’s timing was flawless.
She triggered a sharp burst of kinetic force from her free hand, using the recoil to launch her body backward. While she avoided the center of the strike, she wasn't entirely unscathed. The extreme tip of Sky Devourer managed to graze her side.
That was all it took.
The edge sliced through her reinforced skin effortlessly, and the wound tore open violently a moment later. Reaper Touch was triggered, sending Absolute Destruction into the gash, ripping the injury wider. Crimson flames clung to the open wound, consuming her vitality and spreading like a sentient curse.
Urin gritted her teeth.
A mere graze had inflicted this much harm. In terms of pure destructive capacity, there were very few within the Crimson World who could hope to rival the Neo-Demon.
Before the decay could travel further, the red crystal set into her chest began to glow. A surge of light washed through her frame, clashing head-on with the destructive energy Cain had unleashed. The two opposing forces cancelled each other out, allowing her body to begin healing as bone and flesh knit themselves back together.
Cain narrowed his eyes.
This development did not surprise him.
It had been clear from the start that Urin was specifically modified to counter him. His innate talents, the essence of his True Doomsday Body, and even the power of the Flow had been accounted for. Every strength he possessed had been foreseen.
Only the Ancient One was capable of such meticulous preparation—an entity that had existed for billions of years and possessed the knowledge to create Supreme Races. Buffing a Neo-Angel to this degree was well within its capabilities. The true mystery was why it had bothered to go to such lengths.
"I will find the answer once this battle is over."
Cain did not pause.
His killing intent grew sharper, hardening into a state of total focus. His Crimson Wings erupted as he charged forward, completely discarding his defense. Sky Devourer turned into a whirlwind of annihilation, with every swing sending out waves of destruction that tore the heavens to shreds.
Urin was forced to retreat into a defensive stance.
Grievous injuries opened across her frame as she struggled to keep pace with the relentless barrage. However, Cain’s aggressive tactics came at a cost. Because he had lowered his guard, Urin’s explosions repeatedly found their targets.
Sections of his chest were blasted away.
His arms were shattered to pieces.
His legs were torn apart.
Even his face was shredded once again.
The two of them were being systematically destroyed over and over, only to regenerate in seconds and dive back into the fray with even more savagery.
The ground below the battlefield had turned into a scene of pure chaos.
ArchDeities from the Freedom Path flew upward, consumed by a frenzied bloodlust as they threw themselves at Cain in suicidal waves. The Life Path acted quickly, establishing an unbreakable wall of power to keep the duel isolated.
Meylin stood at the heart of the conflict, her Depraivta Aura burning brightly as she took on several Late ArchDeities simultaneously. Beside her, the Enlightened One fought, his radiance clashing against the forces of ruin.
The True Depravita of Fear bore the heaviest burden, facing over a dozen ArchDeities at once, yet he held his ground firmly.
Nevertheless, the sheer numbers of the Freedom Path were daunting.
The Life Path warriors were forced to maintain absolute focus every single second.
High above the carnage, the brutal trade between Cain and Urin persisted.
The light of the red crystal began to fade.
Cain’s Depraivta Aura started to flicker and thin.
Their regeneration began to lag.
After nearly ten minutes of continuous combat, they both approached their breaking points.
"BOOOOOOM!"
Cain was sent tumbling through the sky by a massive blast. The muscles across his chest were gone, leaving a hollow wound that refused to close. His Depraivta Aura had finally been spent.
Urin was in a similar state of exhaustion.
Her breath came in ragged gasps, and her body was covered in deep lacerations that would not heal. The red crystal in her chest was now dull and cracked, its reserves of energy depleted.
Despite her condition, she smirked.
Confidence still shone in the Neo-Angel’s eyes. The fight had reached a stage where even if Cain won, he lacked the strength to wipe out her True Name. She could simply retreat, heal, and return to the fray much faster than the Life Path could recover. To her, the win was already certain.
Cain sensed the arrogant thoughts passing through her mind.
Slowly, he allowed his body to relax.
Below them, the conflict continued to rage. Freedom Path combatants watched with hungry eyes, while the Life Path struggled to maintain their line.
It was a grueling war, but it could not faze a man who had participated in battles that decided the fate of entire universes. He locked eyes with Urin.
"I'll admit," Cain remarked with a calm tone. "The Ancient One did a fine job upgrading you. It managed to counter my Neo-Demon Path, my natural abilities, and even the Flow."
Urin should have felt a sense of triumph.
Instead, her very soul felt a sense of impending doom. "What is happening?"
The reality of the situation revealed itself immediately.
Cain’s Crimson Wings began to shift and warp, transforming into massive Chaos Wings. As scarlet plasma merged with the firmament, a terrifying presence that transcended all laws, truths, and concepts descended upon the world.
The Power of Chaos.
A faint smile played on Cain's lips. "However," he added in a low voice, "I doubt it expected me to have this."
The entire sky fell into a dead silence.
