Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2028: The truth revealed
Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
Finding a volunteer turned out to be quite straightforward in the end.
Although those who had returned appeared terrified of the mermaids following the incident, this fear failed to erase the emotions they felt upon first venturing out from here.
Their desire to explore the world beyond remained strong, and now that we assured them of a potential opportunity, it was inevitable that some would seize this possibility.
That explained why several stepped up eagerly to trial the blood vaccine I had developed.
Naturally, we proceeded only after verifying that it contained nothing harmful to them.
The foundation of this blood vaccine stemmed from divine power, so it ought not to pose any danger. Still, without absolute certainty, we couldn't predict every outcome.
Thus, the sea witches kept a close watch on the volunteers right after administering the injections.
Ultimately, the volunteers showed no immediate response following the blood vaccine shots.
No one among us felt shocked by this, as such a cure couldn't happen instantly. It required gradual adaptation to the vaccine over time.
We needed to observe them closely for a period to determine if my creation would truly succeed.
Or at least, that would have been the plan if it weren't for...
"Well done, it seems like you’ve solved this problem."
As this voice echoed through the chamber, every member of the other races lowered their heads in reverence. After all, it came from the very god they revered, making such deference entirely expected.
Yet upon hearing it, I found myself furrowing my brow involuntarily.
Swiveling toward the throne, I squinted at the glowing blue orb perched upon it.
With the voice having sounded, it stood to reason that a source for it would be present.
"Then will you keep your promise?" I directed my question at the blue orb before me.
A heavy silence hung in the air for a prolonged moment before Aestum replied, "Yes, since you’ve solved the problem that we’ve left you, you deserve to know the truth. However, this isn’t something that I can tell you on my own. Go and search for the one that all of this started with."
My brow furrowed deeper at these words, though Aestum offered no further explanation.
In a sudden flash, the blue orb vanished from the throne.
Its swift departure gave the impression that Aestum had fled in fear of continuing the conversation with me.
With Aestum departed, further words from me would fall on empty air, as no listener remained.
I didn't need to ponder long to identify whom Aestum meant.
Only one individual...or more precisely, one god fit that description.
Even so, a flicker of concern stirred within me about whether that god would reveal anything at all.
The previous encounter with that god had ended with them ejecting me unceremoniously.
Nevertheless, this was the sole clue Aestum provided, leaving me no option but to pursue it.
Glancing at the Merman King, he nodded and declared, "Go back and find out the truth, I’ll take care of things here."
I nodded in acknowledgment before departing, accompanied by the royal guards.
Upon our arrival, the priests appeared to anticipate our return.
They seemed prepared for my visit, guiding me directly to the main temple without delay.
Unlike their typical behavior of hovering to witness events, they now stood aside as if guided by some divine revelation that sanctioned the proceedings.
Whatever the reason, their restraint certainly simplified matters on the mortal front.
Yet that applied solely to the earthly realm.
Regarding the divine aspect...
Inside the temple, a brief hush fell before I was drawn into the divine realm.
There, in the divine realm, Aquaron awaited my arrival.
Rather than their usual distracted stance that ignored me, this time their focus was entirely fixed upon me.
Clearly, a grave matter demanded our discussion.
Given their demeanor, I held my tongue, allowing them to initiate the exchange.
"After everything that you’ve been through, you do deserve the truth."
This statement caught me by surprise, as it deviated sharply from Aquaron's typical manner. Simultaneously, I hadn't anticipated such a straightforward admission.
I'd braced myself for a battle of persuasion to extract this revelation.
But Aquaron offered no immediate elaboration, instead gesturing with their hand.
At that motion, a recognizable blue orb of light materialized.
This was the very orb that had directed me here initially.
Moreover, it was the same blue orb that presumably harbored hostility toward Aquaron.
