Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2007: Egg

Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
The Mark of God stirred in response to potent divine energy pulsing from deep inside the cave, drawing a tense assembly of wary monsters from various races who eyed each other with suspicion while fixating on the source. Klein, grappling with the implications, deferred command to the protagonist, who observed the fragile balance among the beasts before the energy surged stronger, igniting their agitation and threatening chaos. To seize the initiative, the protagonist activated the Mark on Joan, propelling them into a blazing charge that armored her in flames and engulfed the monsters, scattering them as the inferno spread uncontrollably under Joan's control.

Joan's fierce charge scattered the monsters, allowing us to carve out a way into the cave.

Still, that didn't guarantee we'd know the dangers lurking within.

Fortunately, the blaze encircling Joan cast sufficient illumination, letting us spot our surroundings clearly.

Yet, this bold rush couldn't go on forever.

No obstacle inside the cave halted our progress.

The truth was, the cave itself proved remarkably small from the start.

Before long, we'd arrived at its dead end with no further path ahead.

Given the cave's brevity, it puzzled me deeply why the monsters had lingered outside initially. Sneaking in for whatever treasure lay here should have been a simple task for any of those creatures.

Yet, not a single one had attempted it...

"Could it be that the item here wasn't fully prepared until now? They'd only detected a hint of its might earlier, but it hadn't unleashed its full force like this before today?"

This seemed like the sole rationale I could come up with, though accepting it stretched my credulity.

Trapped with no other direction, my sole option was to search for the source pouring out this mysterious power.

Having drawn nearer, the energy's presence intensified in my perception.

Simultaneously, an odd vibe emanated from it.

Words failed me in capturing it precisely, yet the feeling it stirred was both recognizable and alien. It resembled mana, yet surpassed any mana I'd ever detected in potency.

It echoed divine energy too, but fell short of the weakest divine energy I'd encountered.

Truly, it hovered as an eerie hybrid, perfectly balanced between these two energy types.

With the area saturated by it, locating the origin proved straightforward.

The object sat squarely at the cave's heart, shrouded in dust that obscured its form.

Once I zeroed in on its position, a sweep of my hand summoned a veil of mist enveloping it. The mist swept aside the grime clinging to it, unveiling its actual shape.

"An egg?"

This wasn't merely noting its form; it precisely identified the object itself.

Its appearance left little room for misidentification.

But its presence here defied all logic.

"Roar!"

The roar echoing from behind snapped me to attention, leaving no moment for contemplation.

The beasts, stunned by our sudden assault, had regrouped and now appeared ready to swarm inside. Delay meant we'd be encircled by the incoming horde.

More than mere encirclement, they'd seal us in completely by obstructing our lone escape route.

Hence, fleeing this spot without delay was imperative.

Regaining my focus, I gestured again, and the mist encasing the egg began hoisting it aloft.

Unlike earlier when the divine energy mist defied my command entirely, I'd advanced to the stage where I could now manipulate it to elevate objects.

Unexpectedly, it responded in kind.

As the egg rose from the floor, a quiver ran through it.

I assumed it was merely the egg's instinctive response to being raised, but reality proved otherwise. Following that initial shake, further vibrations rattled it.

As though some stimulus had awakened it, prompting this outburst.

The quakes grew so intense that my divine energy mist lost its grip.

A momentary slip in focus shattered the mist, sending the egg plummeting downward.

This spelled disaster, as I'd raised it to a considerable elevation; a drop from there would surely crack it open.

Uncertain of the egg's nature, I refused to let it break prematurely. Not before uncovering its identity and the reason behind its energy emission.

In my frantic bid to seize it, relief washed over me—it proved unnecessary.

A luminous sheath materialized around the egg, akin to an energy barrier that abruptly secured it. The pulses it emitted matched the peculiar energy I'd sensed earlier.

Such a sudden manifestation suggested its source lurked close by.

Yet, even as I extended my awareness to its maximum, nothing turned up.

The sole emitter appeared to be whatever dwelled within the egg, though confined in that shell, it shouldn't possess such capabilities.

Nevertheless, no other nearby source seemed capable of unleashing that power.

Meanwhile, that energy hoisted the egg skyward before propelling it straight toward me, perched atop Joan's head.

Evidently, I was the intended recipient of this floating egg's trajectory.
