Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 1933: Not what it seems

Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
Following a high-stakes meeting, Dorothy remains under protective custody to shield her from the forces of Destruction. A mysterious black dot on her neck acts as a tracking beacon, fluctuating with corruption energy that suggests a remote connection to her enemies. Despite the risks of an experimental procedure proposed by the researcher Max, Dorothy insists on attempting to remove the mark. As Max begins injecting divine energy into the spot, the corruption reacts violently, triggering a defensive roar and leaking dark energy into the surroundings.

Following that roar, the corruption energy began to leak out from the dot and manifest into various distinct shapes.

These were unlike the typical monsters made of corruption energy.

These entities appeared to take on forms that were actually recognizable to us.

However, being able to identify them only caused us to knit our brows in concern as we watched them materialize.

They were simply far too familiar for comfort...

"Is that you?" Rose asked me, her voice filled with uncertainty as she pointed toward one of the figures Dorothy had summoned from the corruption energy.

Despite being constructs of corruption energy, the dark mist didn't obscure their features like the other corrupted beings we had encountered in the past.

On the contrary, the corruption energy seemed to be actively shifting and molding itself to define their appearances.

It was as if the energy was deliberately flowing to grant them a precise, physical likeness.

It was deeply unsettling to see them take the shape of not only myself, but Rose and my other wives as well. There were even non-human silhouettes appearing, resembling a wolf and a lizard... or more accurately, a dragon.

Every figure manifesting from the corruption energy was someone or something Dorothy knew well. It appeared as though the energy was harvesting these forms directly from her own memories.

Nevertheless, their appearance didn't change the reality of what they were: constructs of corruption energy.

Because they were born from that foul energy, there was no reason for me to hold back. This was especially true since they were clearly summoned to safeguard the black dot we intended to destroy.

With a simple wave of my hand, I manifested a volley of icicles and launched them at the figures.

Strangely, when the corrupted copy of myself saw this, it mimicked my movements and conjured its own icicles made of corruption energy in mid-air.

It appeared to be a duplicate of me, capable of even replicating my specific combat style.

While it had likely stolen this knowledge from Dorothy’s mind, it mattered little; this corruption energy version of me was nothing more than a shallow imitation.

There was absolutely no way a mere copy could ever hope to overpower the original.

My icicles of divine energy tore straight through the corruption energy projectiles without resistance.

The divine energy continued its path, striking every one of the newly formed corruption figures with ease.

Unable to withstand the piercing force of the divine energy, the figures popped like fragile balloons the moment they were struck.

However, my success seemed temporary, as an endless stream of corruption energy continued to pour from the black dot on Dorothy’s neck. At this pace, it looked like an infinite number of these figures would keep emerging from her.

The supply of corruption energy within her seemed bottomless.

Then, I recalled the details Max had included in his report.

This black dot was supposedly a tether to something else; if it was connected to a source, it was almost certainly the origin of all corruption energy.

After all, that was the force attempting to claim Dorothy for itself.

Even if I gathered a greater amount of divine energy to wipe out these figures, it didn't guarantee that we could actually save her from whatever was happening to her soul.

With that thought, I turned my attention toward Max.

Max looked completely dazed as he watched Dorothy, appearing as though he was desperately trying to analyze the situation.

I called out to him, "What do I do now?"

Max didn't respond immediately, his eyes fixed on Dorothy as he continued his observations.

Finally, he spoke up, "Increase the flow of divine energy. It’s resisting us, so we must overwhelm it with more divine energy to neutralize the corruption."

I initially looked at him with a skeptical expression, but I realized we lacked a better alternative.

Since the device was still attached to Dorothy’s neck...

I surrounded myself with a protective barrier of ice and charged through the corruption figures surrounding Dorothy.

As I drew near, the entities turned their focus toward me, treating me as their primary target. This didn't surprise me, as I knew they were sensitive to the divine energy radiating from my body.

Divine energy is the natural enemy of these corruption-born creatures, so it was only logical for them to perceive me as a mortal threat.

Fortunately, because they were composed only of the energy leaking out of Dorothy, they weren't particularly powerful.

There wasn't enough concentrated mass to make them a serious challenge for me.

Thanks to that, I was able to push them aside and reach Dorothy’s side.

I could see the agony she was in as she fought against the mark that was currently spiraling out of control.

I reached out, placing my hand on the device on her neck, and began injecting my divine energy into it.

I realized almost instantly that I had made a grave error when Dorothy suddenly went limp and collapsed.

It was as if her entire system had been overwhelmed by a sudden shock, causing her to lose consciousness. The only possible cause was the divine energy I had just forced into her.

"What’s happening to her?" I demanded, looking at Max.

But the reply didn't come from him.

"I never expected to witness such a sight. Who would have guessed that before we could even lay a hand on her, you would be the ones to cause her such harm?"
