Vritra systematically eliminates the men threatening his companions, dealing with each antagonist through brutal displays of dominance. Upon deciphering the secret behind a scarred enemy's reflection-based ability, he successfully neutralizes the threat and protects those he loves. After ensuring his wives and allies are safe, Vritra prepares to lead them out of the cave to continue their mission, only to be confronted by a sudden and lethal ambush.

"..." Vritra squinted his eyes; it was the same mutant from before, the one missing an arm.

"Damn, this speedy freak again?!" Onest exclaimed in surprise, stumbling backward and colliding with Shitless,

whose metallic cranium slammed squarely into Ergen's face.

Vritra rolled his eyes, lazily grabbed the whip, and gave it a sharp yank.

KKRRRRRAAA-?

The mutant was caught off guard as its form was violently jerked forward; it suddenly realized that Vritra’s physical power had surpassed what it had encountered earlier.

It had been lying in wait, hoping to ambush Vritra after observing him enter.

With a spear manifesting in his grip, a single fluid slash severed the mutant clean in half.

RAAARRRRRRRRRR!!

The beast roared, charging at Vritra despite its dismembered state.

BANG

Vritra drove his spear directly into the creature’s brain, ending its life for good.

"Hmm, Onest, check if this suits you." Vritra tossed the ascension stone toward his companion.

Ergen, nursing a bloody nose and a flushed face, watched with jealousy as Vritra discarded the stone so casually.

"Oh… it’s perfect!" Onest remarked, clearly stunned. Somehow, the ascension stones they scavenged were always ideally suited to their needs.

"Excellent. Let’s keep moving," Vritra commanded before turning to Ergen to ask, "Does your group possess anything of actual value?"

"Not really. They mostly rely on the stronger squads. Perhaps they’ve scavenged something more since I’ve been gone." He replied with a shrug.

"..." Vritra nodded. Only Diana remained without an ascension stone.

It was of little consequence; he possessed enough sin points to secure one for her, and he assumed the divine system would arrange it.

"We’ll pass through that area on our way to the Cinema and the doctor. But first, let’s rest so you can all undergo your ascension in peace," he announced.

The others nodded in agreement, and Ergen promptly guided them toward a secure shelter.

"Are you holding up alright?" Vritra inquired, taking Yasmine’s hand and looking down at her belly.

No visible changes had manifested just yet.

"I am. Honestly, I doubt anything could happen to me while I’m protected by that charm," she responded, resting her head against his shoulder.

Their cart sped forward; any mutant barring their path had its head exploded instantly.

"Sir, this is a relatively safe zone with few mutants. It’s controlled by an organization known as the Survivors, packed with people still hanging on," Ergen explained.

"...Let’s proceed in." Vritra eyed the sprawling shopping complex, topped by a grand hotel.

Upon crossing the threshold, they were met by dozens of people standing guard.

There were thousands of people here, yet resources like food were dangerously thin.

"Identify yourselves!" one man shouted, brandishing a blade.

"We are fellow survivors, relax. We only need lodging for a short duration," Ergen replied swiftly.

"We aren't taking in anyone new. Supplies are completely exhausted here—"

Unwilling to squander time, Vritra produced a stash of provisions and dropped them onto the floor.

"We don't want your rations; this is our entrance fee. It’s all the food we have," Vritra said, stepping boldly into the structure.

The men stared at the supplies, their initial shock turning to gluttonous joy as avarice flickered in their eyes.

"Also, don't harbor any delusions about pulling a fast one. I am capable of wiping out every one of you in a heartbeat."

As he finished, razor-sharp blades formed of blood manifested against the throats of every guard.

Terrified, they nodded vigorously in submission.

Ergen hurried behind the group, feeling a sense of gratitude that Vritra hadn't abandoned him despite Ming's past transgressions.

"This facility is spacious enough. We’ll be requisitioning these rooms. You three can go get some rest," Vritra directed after bribing the room’s occupants to vacate.

After a quick meal, they rested, as the previous days had been utterly draining.

The collective anxiety over Vritra's safety, coupled with the recent confrontations, had worn them thin.

'Morgan, I will make you suffer more than the rest of them.' Vritra seethed with irritation at that coward who used others to do his dirty work.

"Go ahead, I will keep watch," Vritra stated.

"This won't cause any major commotion, will it?" Teresa asked.

"Of course not. Just proceed as planned. It will take a day; simply relax and let things unfold," he replied with composed confidence.

His calm demeanor eased their worries significantly.

Each pair of his six wives occupied three separate rooms.

Only Diana remained by his side.

"Beloved, I suppose I have to wait a little while longer," she said, though she wasn't truly complaining.

She cherished being left alone with Vritra.

"Don't fret. I’ll secure one for you immediately." Vritra stroked the hair of the goddess, finding her silky white locks quite pleasant.

"Perform a draw for 1,000-point rewards, utilizing fifty-eight thousand points," he commanded, reserving the remaining million for higher-tier rolls.

[You have obtained 3 Agility attribute points!]

[You have obtained 1000 beds!]

[You have obtained 10,000 bottles of cola!]

Vritra examined the fifty-eight items once they all manifested.

"There it is. Good work, divine," Vritra remarked, withdrawing the stone from storage to hand it to her.

He didn't even bother verifying; that divine entity might be a despicable piece of garbage, but he was certainly efficient when it came to these functions.

"Ouch, you didn't have to break our connection..." the divine voice whined pitifully.

"Thank you, darling." Diana flashed a smile and pressed her lips to Vritra’s for a passionate kiss.

She felt a slight sting of disappointment at the thought of being separated from him.

The kiss lingered longer than expected, the two embracing and chatting about trivial matters.

Diana was reluctant to depart, but after an hour together, she finally commenced her own ascension.

The women settled onto their beds, gently enveloped by swirling forms of mysterious energy.

"Seems I’ll be cooling my heels for a day," he whispered, stepping out and pulling the door shut behind him.

The three chambers were positioned side-by-side.

"Maybe it’s time to check on the boys. I wonder what Shitless and Onest are getting up to," Vritra mused while approaching the room across the hall.

He swung the door wide.

"Kekeke, you brute! Now you're in for it! Stop struggling, just let me deliver the slap—!" Shitless cackled like a stereotypical villain.

He was in the middle of yanking at Onest’s trousers while the latter desperately resisted.

Suddenly, their entire bodies locked up as they stared at the entrance.

The mutant-like Shitless was straddling Onest’s legs, while Onest lay on his back, clutching his pants.

Vritra stood in the threshold, his expression entirely unreadable.

The silence was deafening; they could practically feel the waves of disappointment and profound misunderstanding radiating from him.

"Apologies, gentlemen. Do continue," he said, slowly pulling the door shut.

"P- Pitifulllll oneeeeeeee!" Shitless shrieked, terror washing over his face as his life flashed before his eyes.

"Waaaaaiiiiittttttttttttt-!!" Onest’s expression crumpled as he scrambled toward the door.

"It isn't what it looks like! I was only trying to spank him! Please, hear us out, have a little faith! I’m absolutely innocent!" Shitless cried out.

"I was the victimmmmmmmmm!!" Onest bellowed.
