Vritra and his companions ventured into the frozen northern reaches to investigate the catastrophic weather and spores threatening the continent. Along the way, Vritra easily intercepted two warriors from the Divine Kage, showcasing his overwhelming new power by effortlessly dismantling them to be turned into wraith guards. Upon reaching the epicenter of the cold, he discovered a mysterious, indestructible black cocoon hidden within a translucent stone. According to Divine, this object is a seed planted by gods that will serve as a planetary fail-safe should they lose the upcoming trials.

Vritra paid close attention to the explanation; for the time being, he had to leave the seed as it was, since there was nothing he could do to change the situation.

"Will this freezing climate last until the trials commence?" he inquired.

"Indeed, many shifts could occur, and it also serves as a clue regarding the nature of the game you will be playing," Divine answered.

Vritra looked intently at the seed before deciding to conceal it. With a simple motion of his hand, the scattered fragments of white stone rose into the air.

Utilizing his Dust manipulation, he fused the stone back together, restoring it to a state that was nearly pristine.

The structure wasn't supposed to have been damaged; after all, no entity of such power was meant to exist on this planet yet.

Even Jack, the prophesied hero, had not yet attained the Lord rank.

"That's right, I must locate Jack before he takes any lives." Vritra had nearly slipped his mind—or perhaps it was simply the hand of fate attempting to keep the hero alive?

However, Maeve, the one with the strongest link to him, had started her evolution and was currently unable to assist.

He decided to return and notify his wives so they could initiate a manhunt for Jack.

"Let us depart; I shall clarify everything once we reach the house."

Thus, the group of four took to the skies, flying back through the intense storm and falling snow.

...

Vritra gently wiped the snow from Yasmine’s hair and shoulders, repeating the gesture for Fiona and Teresa.

After being called by Vritra, Vanessa and Diana halted their training and stepped outside.

"Listen, this object is a seed. It will turn into the primary engine of ruin if we fail the trial. And when the game begins..."

While projecting an image, Vritra explained the situation to his five wives.

He found himself wishing for Yennefer’s swift return, as he was truly beginning to long for her presence.

Once she emerged, he intended to take her with him and allow her to slaughter as many Demon Lords and demons as she desired.

"Honey, I will begin the search for Jack immediately," Vanessa promised.

"Dear, I haven't fully reclaimed control over the continent yet, but now that my return is public knowledge, the loyalists have started to come back."

Diana spoke up; she was eager to eliminate the Golden Moon members who were acting like high lords within her own palace.

But the day after tomorrow would be their day of reckoning.

"It is fine; we will settle all accounts, new and old, very soon. Just employ every resource at your disposal to find him. You should also notify the World Information Centre; they are quite skilled at this," Vritra instructed.

"Darling, I will also mobilize everyone in my kingdom for this mission," Fiona added, simply happy to be by his side just like in the old days.

"Wifey, you ought to begin refining the core as well. It’s vital that we all bolster our strength quickly. Tess, that goes for you too," Vritra said, looking toward them.

"Hmm." They both nodded in agreement; it was a tedious but essential task.

Everyone set to work. Vanessa was the first to return to the City of Charms to organize the search party.

Once the orders were issued, she went back to her cultivation. Thanks to that nameless treasure, her power was surging rapidly.

Diana followed suit; after assembling a search team, she returned to her training. With the help of the Tomb of the Gods treasure, her growth was also accelerating.

Yasmine and Teresa began training in tandem, drawing energy from the core.

Meanwhile, Teresa had to prepare for the biting cold so that ordinary humans and other races could survive, as it appeared the temperature would only continue to plummet.

Since it had been quite some time since Vritra had spent any private moments with Fiona, he decided to take her out.

The two of them dressed appropriately for the chill, even though it wasn't strictly necessary for them.

Just as Vritra was flying out of his residence, Hellmancer arrived, carrying two corpses that had been shredded into small pieces.

It was evident that Hellmancer had thoroughly tortured the two men from Divine Kage.

"Excellent work. Now, stay here and guard the perimeter," Vritra commanded, quickly transforming the deceased men into soul wraiths to bolster his massive army.

He now possessed thousands of guards; even the weakest among them was a Beginner Lord, while most were far beyond that rank.

"Fiona, let's head to the Phoenix Kingdom first," Vritra suggested, pulling her hood over her head and brushing her warm cheeks.

"Of course, darling," the redhead answered with a radiant smile, overjoyed to have this time together.

Holding hands with their fingers intimately locked, the two flew off.

Even with the weather taking a turn for the worse, it offered a different kind of beauty.

They gazed down at the stunning landscape below, where a thick blanket of white snow covered the world.

The sun was completely obscured, and the conditions were only expected to deteriorate further.

Fiona and Vritra enjoyed the scenery at a leisurely pace until they finally reached the Phoenix Kingdom.

To their surprise, a few guards were stationed outside the gate, keeping watch.

Fiona touched down in front of them, and the snow in their immediate vicinity melted instantly.

The guards were taken aback, but upon recognizing her, they bowed hurriedly. "G-Greetings, Empress! We have been awaiting your return!!"

Fiona didn't spare them a look, continuing to walk beside Vritra with a smile as she chatted about trivial things.

Once the couple had walked away, the guards stood up straight, questioning if that was truly their Empress.

The Empress, known for her constant rage and bloodlust, was speaking so softly to someone?

Had they seen her actual expression, their shock would have been even greater.

"Heh, these people truly live in fear of you, Fiona. You used to be so kind to everyone." Vritra shook his head, glad that she was at least opening up to him more.

Arriving at an empty hall, Fiona turned to Vritra and said, "Darling, give me a moment to summon them all here."

She pulled a glyph from her storage and infused it with mana, causing alarms to blare.

Within a minute, dozens of people came rushing toward the hall, alerted that their Empress had returned.

"Go on, handle your business. I'll wait for you outside," Vritra said. Before she could respond, he began strolling toward a nearby building.

Fiona hummed in response, determined to conclude the meeting as quickly as possible.

Vritra stopped in front of a shop selling various candies. They had a pleasant aroma, so he decided to buy some.

He still had plenty of gold, so the inflated prices caused by the weather were of no concern to him.

"I haven't seen your face around here. Who are you?" Just as Vritra took his candies, a trio of men approached him.

Due to their fire-based nature and high tolerance, the phoenixes were less bothered by the freezing temperatures.

Vritra looked back, sensing they were merely looking to extort money, as the disaster had made everything incredibly expensive.

"Don't mind me... just go away." The three were so pathetically weak that killing them would only serve to stain the ground.

"Hey, guards!! There's a trespasser here! We've caught a thief, come quickly!!" they suddenly began to shout, looking at Vritra with cunning eyes.

With the natural catastrophe unfolding, the crime rate had also begun to climb.
