Paragon Of Sin Chapter 1986 Chapter 1978: Inner Ascendant Battlefield
Previously on Paragon Of Sin...
The transition point for the Inner Ascendant Battlefield.
A violent downpour of transparent spatial energy slammed into a white dais, which was carved with complex mystic runes born from the Way of Mysticism: Spatial Rune. Within this energy deluge, illusory runes pulsed in a rhythmic dance, vibrating in harmony with the platform. As the torrent faded, a protective bubble was revealed, containing two individuals: one tall and one petite.
Wei Wuyin and Tilly Winehart had reached their destination at last! The latter, however, was gasping for air in utter shock. Her eyes were wide as she stared at Wei Wuyin’s profile, her expression a constant flicker of deep respect and amazement.
A mere five days had passed since their departure from the Stellar Battlefield's Chaos Realm, far short of the anticipated two-week journey. Following four days of their shared activities, Wei Wuyin had suddenly manifested a sphere of condensed, mystical mystery. Without a word of explanation, he merged the orb into their spatial bubble. Tilly had felt a sudden wave of dizziness as their speed accelerated beyond imagination.
"See," Wei Wuyin said with a hearty laugh, "It worked." Kratos had been complaining incessantly about being a mere passenger. To quiet the dragon, Wei Wuyin decided to experiment with hijacking the spatial shuttle. He reapplied the same modifications that had once altered the Transit Stellar Light, turning the prismatic glow into a grey hue that mimicked annihilation.
He had been slightly reluctant to ignore standard protocols, fearing he might attract the gaze of any existing Overseers or Moderators. However, he eventually realized that Kratos’s agitation was simply a mirror of his own restless impatience. While Tilly was a delightful companion, he could no longer tolerate the crawling pace of the standard transport system.
He reclaimed the Mystic Rune Sphere—a mass of six hundred billion illusory Mystic Runes—and pulled it back into his form. The runes dissolved into his body, flowing through his physique like specialized assistants to his internal systems. Having reached the peak of perfection long ago, he was now prepared for the Stellar-Paragon Physique to bridge the final gap and enter the domain of the Mystic Dao.
Tilly’s heart hammered against her ribs at the sight of the Mystic Rune Sphere. Even though the runes were illusory, her Mystic Core felt a desperate, primal hunger. She almost lunged for it like a predator. Noticing her intense reaction, Wei Wuyin summoned the sphere once more with effortless grace. Tilly’s focus became so absolute that the rest of the world seemed to vanish from her sight.
Holding the orb in his palm, he moved it toward the dazed, hyper-focused Tilly, who looked as if she might start drooling at any moment. Eschewing any teasing, he spoke with a voice infused with Spiritual Strength: "You can touch it."
She offered no verbal response other than a faint, trancelike grunt. Reaching out like a zombie, her fingertips grazed the sphere. Instantly, her eyes blazed with an explosion of mystic light. The Mystic Runes inside her body reacted violently, glowing so fiercely that the light pierced through her skin, bones, and organs. Having reached the Demi-Mortal Lord Phase, she possessed a Refined Physique—specifically the High-World Refined Physique known as the Worldbreaker War Physique. This was a product of the Triumphant World Method, an advanced cultivation technique of the Warring Soul that required 8,000 War Souls.
Despite her small stature, she held physical power capable of shattering worlds, which provided her with incredible stamina. Without it, she would have collapsed from exhaustion during their previous activities long ago.
"Oh?" Wei Wuyin observed as the Ways of Mysticism seemed to wake within Tilly’s body. The sensation reminded him of watching Wu Yu’s ascension to the Earthly Saint Phase. She was currently awakening her Mystic Intent!
"OH! OH! OH! Do it! Faster! Faster!!" Ori suddenly jumped out, shouting for Wei Wuyin to move. Seeing the crushing pressure beginning to weigh down on Tilly, he knew she couldn't achieve enlightenment here. Such occurrences were strictly forbidden in this location.
"Only because this will benefit her," Wei Wuyin said as he put away the Mystic Rune Sphere. He pressed his finger to Tilly’s glabella, wrapping her in Void Energy. With a sharp tug, he pulled her into his Primordial Expanse.
Inside the Primordial Expanse, Tilly immediately summoned the Earthly Ascension Tribulation Gate! Even though it was an Internal World, Wei Wuyin’s blessing of the Mystic Dao vibrated with power, seemingly transcending time and space to aid the descent within that realm. However, the phenomenon actually sought Wei Wuyin’s personal permission to proceed.
It was a bizarre feeling—having a Great Dao ask for consent to manifest inside him. It appeared that the theories of Ori and King were correct: the Primordial Expanse was a singular spatial world, no different from the vast Void that contained all existence.
"Remarkable..." Wei Wuyin whispered. Shortly after, the sound of approaching footsteps echoed. Two cultivators appeared, taking the roles of an Entry Moderator and a Station Moderator. The first was responsible for processing entries into the Battlefields of Order or War, while the second assigned specific zones and locations.
Both were of the human race.
Tilly had mentioned that Moderators came from various races, but humans remained the majority, reflecting the demographics of the galactic cluster. Their dominance was largely due to their reproductive versatility; humans were universal breeders, capable of interbreeding with any race. This expansionist trait was the primary reason for their massive population.
The Neo-Dawn Starfield, before its destruction by Tiangou, had been a perfect example of this. Figures like Da Shan, Nyla Shur, and Lian Yu all carried bloodlines from diverse races.
These specific Moderators possessed cultivation bases at the Heavenly Saint and Ascended Saint Phases.
Tilly had originally planned to serve as his Entry Moderator, but her sudden enlightenment changed everything. Wei Wuyin was issued his Identity Rune, which featured Ascendant-grade storage for War Souls. His previous Stellar Identity Rune was integrated into it, transferring his accumulated merits and War Souls.
Once the process was complete, he was asked to choose his path: Order or War. Tilly had explained that while he could eventually enter both, he had to pick one as his starting point for the Inner and Outer Battlefields as a Soldier or Commander. Because he was automatically classified as an Ascendant Soldier, he could start in either and switch once he sought a promotion to Ascendant Commander.
He stood at a crossroads.
'Su Mei and the rest are certainly in the Outer Battlefield of War. However, I gave Magus my word that we would use his abilities in the Battlefield of Order instead of relying on alchemy.' While he weighed the options of entering as an Inner or Outer participant, Magus sent a silent, meaningful impulse: 'Take them to the Galactic Battlefield!'
Wei Wuyin laughed at the response. It seemed Magus was setting aside his pride to prioritize the safety of Su Mei and the others. Since Magus was in agreement, Wei Wuyin chose to enter the Inner Ascendant Battlefield of Order as a soldier. The Moderators accepted his decision without much fuss. Seeing his cultivation recorded at the Soul of Mysticism Phase, they likely assumed he was simply choosing a place to die on that violent battlefield.
The Entry Moderator led him away, a journey that took three hours. During the trip, Wei Wuyin was startled by a notification from his Identity Rune. Members of the Neo-Byr Legion had fallen! Checking their status through the rune, he saw they had already moved into the Outer Battlefield of War.
The deaths were few—only about six—but they were the first. He didn't need to do much; by paying a fee in War Souls earned from his merits, he could have them resurrected to return to the fight. Usually, he could perform Creationist tasks for revivals, but currently, payment was the only option. It seemed his minor assistance had made them overconfident and reckless.
In battle, carelessness was a leading cause of death. He sent a spiritual message via the void to Wei Xiaotian and Yan Zhu, then put the matter aside. Those two were clearly aiming for greatness, and he expected nothing less of them.
Lower 44th Zone.
Unlike the Stellar Battlefield, the Ascendant Battlefield used simple numerical designations.
As he arrived at the Inner Ascendant Battlefield, he saw Towers hovering in the sky, adorned with Mystic Radiance Belts numbering from one to three. Most had three belts, while those with only one or two appeared damaged or defeated by recent conflicts. Their aura of mystery felt diminished.
When his own Globe of Creation manifested, though only a meter wide, it bore an illusory Mystic Radiance Belt that made it look strikingly like a Solar Star.
He stretched his muscles.
"It’s that time again—the perfect time to win a war." Grinning, he walked toward the fortifications. The residents of the Inner Ascendant Battlefield had no idea that chaos was about to arrive!
