Paragon Of Sin Chapter 1985 Chapter 1977: Venturing Higher

Previously on Paragon Of Sin...
Wei Wuyin's Globe of Creation crushed the resistance of nearly three thousand zones in the Outer Stellar Battlefield, forcing countless Creationists to surrender. He then extracted their insights, knowledge, and arts, preparing to maximize his gains from the conflict. During this process, Wei Wuyin discovered evidence of two other Bai Xius, one in the Prosperous Ruin Galaxy's Severing Core Pavilion and another in the Buried Sword Galaxy's Sword Pill Sect. With the Outer Stellar Battlefield conquered, Wei Wuyin prepared to enter the Ascendant Battlefield, with Tilly as his Entry Moderator.

"Slow! Slow! Slow!!!" Kratos grumbled, sounding as if time itself was offending him. His frustration was understandable. Having been granted merit and War Souls, Wei Wuyin had earned the right to enter the Ascendant Battlefield as a 'Soldier' despite his current cultivation level. Such an irregular occurrence was rare, yet not entirely unheard of among demonic geniuses, particularly in recent times as the multi-galactic standards for cultivation have advanced significantly.

However, after securing the necessary permit and upgrade, he was forced to travel via a spatial channel from the Stellar Battlefield to the Ascendant Battlefield. This transit lasted two full weeks! The Envoy of Order responsible for distributing the merit rewards had explained that the three Battlefields were structured like an inverted cone, tucked away within a bizarre, secluded pocket of chaotic space.

While entering from the outside was simple, navigating within was far more difficult. Wei Wuyin had briefly considered traveling to the Ascendant Battlefield on his own, but he faced a major obstacle: the marking of an accepted entity. This mark could only be obtained through specific access formations, whether from inside or outside. If he departed without it, he would be barred from returning unless he ascended to the Earthly Saint Phase via an official access formation.

This specific marking was the reason he steered clear of the Nexus Battlefield, which forced the expulsion of any Soldier or Commander upon their victory. According to the regulations of the Battlefield of Order & War, the Nexus Battlefield served as the final stage of its category, and this expulsion was woven into the environment as an unbreakable law.

The second reason—though less concerning for a True Void Dragon—was that this isolated spatial zone was lethally hostile. Even Supreme Sages would find it nearly impossible to traverse, and locating the next Battlefield was a monumental task since they were tucked away within Chaos Realms.

Wei Wuyin had no choice but to endure the sluggish pace under the protection of Tilly. On the bright side, he was no longer subjected to any suppression or pressure during the journey. In theory, this provided a perfect window for advancement; Demi-Mortal Lords could use this time to become Earthly Saints and enter the Ascendant Battlefield as proper soldiers. This was clearly a deliberate design by the architects of these rules.

Unfortunately, Wei Wuyin couldn't take advantage of this opening. His cultivation was still only at the Soul of Mysticism Phase, and the process of ascending would require more than just a two-week window. Consequently, he spent his time accompanied by his escort, Tilly Winehart.

Among his Mystic Souls, only Kratos was vocal about his boredom. Ori and King were focused on Element, who was carefully digesting and refining the Mote of Heaven. Magus had fallen into a deep silence, absorbing the mental crystals packed with the lineages, legacies, techniques, and insights plundered from the Creationists of both the Inner and Outer Stellar Battlefields.

Wei Wuyin’s ruthless theft of fortune and knowledge was certain to provoke a backlash from those galaxies eventually. He had utilized oath-dissolving potions while in a position where their leaders were powerless to stop him. Usually, organizations at every level—from planetary sects to entire galaxies—had safeguards to prevent such exploitation, as the forceful theft of knowledge threatened their very foundations.

Most of the stolen information was of little substance, but the Creationists in the Outer Stellar Battlefield were elites. Mu Yura, for instance, was a false Earthly Saint Alchemist whose ties to a Blessed had provided her with a unique alchemical spell to increase her success rates.

Such ancient Concoction Methods and obscure arts were priceless. Wei Wuyin had been heartless in his acquisitions, focusing particularly on those protected by soul oaths.

For a typical cultivator, such a massive influx of data would be useless—like a glutton trying to swallow more food when their stomach is already bursting. The knowledge would simply clog their mind without providing any benefit. However, for Wei Wuyin—and specifically for Magus—this was not an issue.

Out of curiosity, Wei Wuyin had once examined the Library of Eden’s functions before Magus became his fifth Spirit of Cultivation. The level of precision and organization he witnessed was staggering. At the time, thousands of Mental Incarnations acted as scholars and librarians. Magus possessed an incredible hive-mind capability.

He had seen a specialized chamber where Magus' Mental Incarnations engaged in debates with one another, overseen by an arbiter who was also Magus. The library was meticulously categorized, but the most impressive part was the section containing condensed, critical knowledge that held only the most essential truths.

Once Magus became his fifth Spirit of Cultivation, the Library of Eden was integrated into his being. Wei Wuyin could hardly fathom the scope of the world created within. He had once seen Ori’s world as a massive white star; was Magus’ world a library the size of a sun? With millions of Incarnations? As a Spirit of Cultivation, Magus might not even need separate incarnations anymore. The constant flow of Enlightened Scholarly Mist into Wei Wuyin’s Sea of Consciousness proved that Magus was perpetually refining theories and correcting flaws in various Cultivation Methods.

Resting on a temporary bed within the spatial bubble, Wei Wuyin reached out to Magus: "How much time do you need to process all of that?"

Lately, Magus had transitioned to sending only perfect, annotated manuscripts of organized insights. These were like textbooks for Wei Wuyin to study, complete with references and clarifications. This allowed Wei Wuyin to learn efficiently without falling into common traps or misunderstandings.

These manuscripts also highlighted frequent errors found in the insights of others and explained how to avoid them. Magus had a way of translating the difficult concepts of cultivation into clear instructions. This meant Wei Wuyin didn't just understand the knowledge; he could teach it or defend it in a scholarly debate.

Magus followed a strict scholarly philosophy: "If you're unable to explain and teach a topic within a subject with a clear lack of bias and understanding of the contentious issues that arise on all sides, you have not learned the topic in question."

This standard was a massive boon to his Alchemy, especially when using the Freestyle Method. If he couldn't justify why a specific spell was the best choice for a certain phase of concoction, he shouldn't be using it at all.

This approach significantly elevated his status as a Creationist.

When necessary, Magus could still share his mind directly, allowing Wei Wuyin to carve knowledge into his very soul.

Meanwhile, Eden was busy tending to the Neo-Dawn Ascension Cauldron, which housed both versions of Bai Xiu. Following the grueling Transcendent Mystic-Heaven grade concoction, they had suffered heavy damage but also gained much. Eden was now acting as a maternal figure, nurturing them within its Mystic Form.

With nothing to do, Kratos continued to moan about the slow journey. Eventually, he slipped into the Mind's Eye to pester Athena like a boastful dragon. His bragging was largely nonsensical, but after Magus had intimately felt Kratos’ unique experiences, the dragon’s strange habits began to make a bit more sense.

"Magus," Wei Wuyin called. The palatial library residing in his Primordial Expanse hummed. Magus remained non-verbal, communicating only through intent and emotion. "Do you still intend to lead the way in the Ascendant Battlefield of Order?"

The library within his Mystic Form trembled with a clear sense of affirmation: "Of course!"

Wei Wuyin had only asked for confirmation. Magus was currently preoccupied with a task that demanded total focus, draining Wei Wuyin's mental energy at a rate nearly equal to his exceptionally high recovery speed. "Alright," he whispered, relaxing once more.

"Tilly," Wei Wuyin said suddenly. Tilly looked up, her eyes watery, making a muffled humming sound because her mouth was full. "Is it possible for someone to take part in both the Battlefields of Order and War during the same run?"

Tilly blinked before nodding. She swallowed and took a breath. "You... you can only participate as a Soldier or Commander in one category per entry. So, you could be a Soldier in the Battlefield of War and a Commander in the Battlefield of Order in the Inner and Outer sections, but not the other way around. Every rank upgrade counts as a new entry because you can't be demoted normally."

"Excellent. Then I can go check on the Prime Ascendants," Wei Wuyin's eyes flashed with curiosity. He wondered about Su Mei’s progress.

Outer Ascendant Battlefield of War.

The air was filled with the screams of the dying and the final gasps of the fallen. Camps were reduced to smoking ruins, and decapitated heads rolled across the ground like weeds.

A sudden, terrifying disaster had arrived!
