Paragon Of Sin Chapter 1979 Chapter 1971: Mote of Heaven

“DIBS!”
The transit toward the Outer Stellar Battlefield of Order proved far more tedious and slow than the journey to the Inner Battlefields after departing the access formation’s arrival point. Wei Wuyin was left with four hours of downtime. During this interval, he focused his analysis on the speck of heavenly radiance Wen Mingna had provided.
“Her perception is sharp, but her techniques are truly defiant and cunning,” Wei Wuyin noted, his admiration plain.
“You were the one who altered her cultivation method,” Magus pointed out, reminding him of the source of her uniqueness. Her Cultivation Method had been infused with a profound comprehension of the Heavenly Daos and strengthened by the insights of a man who dared to peer into celestial mysteries. Defiant? Cunning? Wei Wuyin was essentially describing his own journey. Setting defiance aside, the Heavenly Daos had labeled him an Exploitative Blessed, a title synonymous with being inherently devious.
This label had been placed upon him long before the Bloodline of Sin was inherited, serving as a reflection of his true nature.
“That I did,” Wei Wuyin admitted with a sense of pride. “However, she is the one actively refining her fate arts and divination spells. She is literally draining the core fortune of San Yongli.” As he spoke, his Samsara Soul Spiritual Incarnation toyed with the golden speck within the Primordial Expanse. He decided to name it the Mote of Heaven.
While examining this fragment of incredibly concentrated heavenly radiance, he detected the principles of the Law of Time within it—specifically, the Substantial Future. It also contained an inferior grade of Akashic Energy that could not compare to his own.
To master the Law of Time and form a Seed of Law, a cultivator needed to experience either an ‘Actualized Future’ or a ‘Substantial Past.’
Actualized meant the event had already occurred!
Substantial meant it possessed the potential to happen!
San Yongli had been yanked from her Actualized Future and placed into a Substantial Past. These two energy types were polar opposites on the temporal scale, frequently resulting in the creation of paradoxical energies. Modern cultivation societies have progressed enough to find rare chances to encounter such phenomena, much like Wei Wuyin had during his challenges within the Endless Void Realm.
“This implies she possesses foresight,” Wei Wuyin mused. He had always been intrigued by her blessing—the 'piece of heaven' mentioned by the Black Skeleton. Was her primary ability the power to see the future? “So, she can forecast destinies!”
As he probed deeper into the hidden power, he realized it functioned as a receiver for the Heavenly Daos. His gaze sharpened instantly. “It isn’t just for predicting fortune; she can actually decipher the intentions and schemes of the Heavenly Daos regarding the Blessed! How terrifying!”
Within the Mote of Heaven, words written in a unique temporal script shifted and morphed constantly. It detailed the path of a female Blessed, predicting her rise to become a Mystic Overlord, her role in leading her Stellar Region through a massive conflict, and the dawn of a new era. It laid out the specific timeline and the blessings she was fated to find to build her legend according to the Heavenly Daos' design. It felt like reading a pre-written autobiography. Only a few specifics were absent, such as her true identity, focusing instead on her future title rather than her current state.
Despite being only a Mote of Heaven, the information it held was staggering. She was truly usurping the destiny of others.
“Heh. The irony. She is a thief stealing fortune before it even arrives, yet now she’s being robbed blind herself. That’s my girl,” Wei Wuyin’s pride swelled as he manipulated the Mote of Heaven. While the data was precious, the purity of the Heavenly Radiance was even more significant.
He had never seen anything like it—except for maybe once or twice: the Karmic Sky. That was the magnificent display of an Empyrean’s blessing that painted the heavens in brilliance. Looking at his Bloodline of Sin tattoo, a wild thought took root in his mind.
Could he... isolate his own Karmic Luck to produce Heavenly Radiance?
Magus seemed to catch his drift, its breathing becoming heavy and erratic. “Heaven’s Gate.” As if their consciousnesses were unified, they arrived at the same conclusion.
What if...
What if they utilized this specific quality of Heavenly Radiance to forge their future Heaven’s Gate? Or perhaps use it to upgrade Athena’s current Heaven’s Gate? Currently, Athena’s Heaven’s Gate was incomprehensibly massive, yet in terms of actual quality, it mirrored any other Heaven’s Gate. This wasn't because his paragonic path lacked the power to improve it, but because of a universal ‘hard limit’ on all Heaven’s Gates. Only size differentiated the common from the extraordinary, even among demonic geniuses.
But the quality itself...
That was a completely different level!
Athena, the two Bai Xius, and Element all reacted to the Mote of Heaven. It made sense for Athena and the Bai Xius, as they were Spirits of Dao who drew strength from their respective Daos and held a connection to the Heavenly Realms. However, Element was different. As a Nascent Saber Soul, it wasn't a Spirit of Dao, though it was closely related.
He saw four potential ways to utilize this Mote of Heaven. The mote itself was less important than the discovery of what physical heavenly radiance could do for these Spirits of Dao and Nascent Souls.
‘If I can harvest similar energy, can I evolve Element and the others?’ Wei Wuyin wondered. At that moment, Magus nudged his Sea of Consciousness.
“Your Heaven’s Gate! Our Heaven’s Ga—mghm!” Magus suddenly went quiet. Wei Wuyin noticed that Magus’s Mystic Form was being forcibly restrained by the four Mystic Souls.
“What are you four up to?” Wei Wuyin questioned.
Magus’s Mystic Form vibrated, but aside from some muffled noises, it couldn't speak. Wei Wuyin sensed that his mischievous Mystic Souls were brewing a defiant and devious plan. Before he could investigate further, Eden asked, “Will you be giving the Mote of Heaven to Athena or the sisters?”
Wei Wuyin’s focus shifted to the choice at hand. The Mote of Heaven would certainly be helpful, but he wasn't sure of the extent, or if he should wait until Wen Mingna finished her task. This single mote wouldn't satisfy him anyway, and Wen Mingna had left a specific message behind.
It consisted of only two words: “Trust” and “Taste.”
He grasped the first part. She wanted him to stay back and rely on her completely. San Yongli and Tian Yinwu were Blessed individuals growing at an explosive rate, and there was a risk that her piece of heaven might cause issues if interfered with.
She had become careful. She didn't want to alert anyone or ruin the delicate balance she had established. Furthermore, she didn't know his current cultivation level or his new status.
When she extracted this, he was still wandering the lesser galaxies to grow his power; she had no idea he could likely force her plans to completion much faster. However, doing so would rob her of the chance to master the art of siphoning fortune from the Blessed. He wouldn't take that from her. Such a skill would be invaluable later, particularly if he had to face established Empyreans rather than someone like the newly risen Su Yi.
As for the "taste," that was a directive for the Mote of Heaven. She wanted him to test its applications. It was peaceful and held under multiple seals, allowing him to use it without fear of backlash. She had successfully tamed a fortune intended for San Yongli. It was an incredible feat.
“Element! Element!” Ori interjected. Its favoritism was obvious. To King and Ori, Element was practically their offspring. Wei Wuyin found himself agreeing. He knew the Mote of Heaven could likely bolster Athena’s Heaven’s Gate or help the Bai Xius create Mystic-Soul or Mystic-Heaven products, but Element’s reaction was the real unknown.
“Eat,” Element’s voice pleaded. Its intelligence was clearly rising. Was it turning into a Daospark? That thought caused Wei Wuyin’s mind to freeze in realization.
What was the origin of Heavenly Daosparks? They weren't standard Heavenly Treasures or even Supreme ones. Did they originate from... Nascent Souls? Even Magus had no answer for this. No records or stolen memories he possessed mentioned the source of Heavenly Daosparks.
However, if Element could eventually resonate with the Dao of its own making, much like Athena or Bai Xiu, would it transform into a Spirit of Dao? But with its Profound Saber Energy and Profound Saber Meridian... technically, Element was a blend of various Daos from Ori and King. What would happen if it became a Spirit of Dao? The curiosity was overwhelming.
“It’s yours,” he decided, feeding the Mote of Heaven to Element. He needed to see the outcome. He had planned for Element to consume Galactic-grade and Ascendant War Souls to reach the fifth level, but this might trigger something even better. Looking at it another way, improving Element’s Profound Saber Energy usually only changed its quality, not its core nature. This might be the missing piece needed for a true evolution!
Element’s physical form manifested within the Primordial Expanse. Since it was a physical world Wei Wuyin carried, a spiritual manifestation wasn't necessary. The Mote of Heaven drifted toward the blade's edge, and Element dipped its tip into the glow. A violent explosion of golden light followed, so powerful that Wei Wuyin’s Incarnation was blown apart.
Feeling the chaotic energy surging within the Primordial Expanse, Wei Wuyin’s anticipation grew.
He then wondered why Athena and the Bai Xius hadn't tried to claim the Mote of Heaven for themselves. A sudden suspicion hit him.
Sending a Mental Incarnation to his Mind’s Eye, he found the three Spirits of Dao lounging in Little Defiant’s solar essence, huddled together in an intense meeting.
His suspicions deepened.
Ultimately, he didn't press them. Since they hadn't protested his choice, there was surely a valid reason behind their silence.
Wei Wuyin didn't realize that the reason was far simpler than he imagined: Ori had already called dibs!
