My Celestial Ascension Chapter 927: Matters Of The Heart

Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
Yuan's effortless victory over Countess Isolde in the duel left King Evander and the vampire nobles deeply shocked, shattering their pride and highlighting his overwhelming power. Reflecting on her defeat, Isolde, renowned for her brutal training and unique bloodline, begins to admire Yuan deeply, considering devoting herself to him after a lifetime focused solely on strength. As the nobles depart to prepare for the impending war against the Undead King, Isolde invites Yuan and his companions to her grand castle overlooking mountains and a lake, where they arrive amid her disciplined vampire guards' respectful welcome.

Snapping out of her trance, she turned to Yuan with eyes brimming with warmth and eagerness, as though she was dying to chat with him immediately.

"So, what do you think about my place? Is it better than the Royal Castle?" she inquired, a smile playing on her lips.

"The view from here is much better compared to the Royal Castle... and this place is quite isolated from the bustling city. I like the calmness here," Yuan responded, taking in the scenery around them.

"That’s quite an honest reply, Yuan. I’m glad you like it here," she remarked, then took his hand and tugged him forward. "Let’s go inside. I’ll introduce you all to the members of my family."

"..." Nerith’s eyes widened in shock, her jaw almost hitting the ground from sheer astonishment.

’Isn’t this just like how I pulled him into the bathroom earlier?! But why is she the one leading him now? What does this bloodsucking bat intend to do with him?!’ Nerith raged silently inside, overwhelmed by disbelief and irritation.

Even Yuan found himself surprised by the unexpected development and simply trailed after her as she led him into the castle.

’What on earth is going on? First Nerith, and now Countess Isolde... Am I on the verge of getting yet another wife?!’ Yuan exclaimed inwardly, completely confused.

Anna Grace and the rest could only chuckle lightly as they trailed behind them into the building.

"Elder Sister, it seems you have brought some guests with you. Quite the surprise."

The moment Yuan and the group stepped in with Isolde, a man’s voice rang out from in front.

Seated on a sofa before them was a striking man, leisurely drinking from a cup of blood, accompanied by a woman at his side. They looked like a pair.

"Hmm... how strange... why do I smell the scent of a human... interesting." A subtle, enigmatic smile crept onto his face as he detected their aroma.

"Henrick, behave, or I’ll break that face of yours and skin you a few times," Isolde warned with a fierce smile, her eyes flashing briefly.

Henrick and the woman next to him immediately went quiet. Fear gripped their bodies, making their pulses race like they had entered a horrifying dream.

They shared worried looks before facing Isolde again, gulping down their fear and nodding submissively like well-trained pups.

Isolde then directed her attention to the woman by her younger brother. "Virella, order the servants to prepare tea for my honored guests."

Virella gave a shy nod and scurried off, her steps fading away until she disappeared.

"So, Elder Sister, who exactly are these honored guests of ours? Where did you meet them?" Henrick questioned, eyeing Yuan and the group with confusion.

"Who they are doesn’t concern you. Just remember that I’ll skin you hundreds of times if you try anything funny," Isolde shot back icily, without even looking his way.

She settled onto the sofa and motioned for Yuan and the others to sit. Then she fixed her brother with a stern look.

"You will go and prepare our soldiers for war. I want every soldier ready within three days, and I will not tolerate any delays."

"War?? Are you out of your mind, Sister? Who in the world are we fighting?" Henrick scoffed, rolling his eyes as if it were a prank.

But seeing the gravity in her expression, he gulped hard. "A-Are you serious...? Who are we going to fight?"

"The Undead King and his army of millions," Isolde stated flatly.

"..." Henrick went still, needing a few moments to absorb her words.

"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST SAY?!?!" Henrick bellowed, leaping from the sofa in alarm, his eyes bulging in incredulity.

"I’m serious...did you really think that I would joke about such a grave matter?" Isolde arched her eyebrows as a powerful aura erupted from her.

"T-This is...How is this possible??" Henrick stammered in shock, sensing the world whirling around him.

Drawing in a steady breath, Isolde continued. "The Undead King and his massive army are advancing toward the border day by day. A massive war looms ahead. We’ve already allied with the Demon Empire to battle beside them."

"It is only a matter of time before the war begins, and we must win if we wish to survive. You will focus on preparing our army and march toward the border with His Highness."

"I will accompany Princess Nerith to seek alliances with the remaining two nations as soon as possible. I will only join the battle once I return to the border." She concluded with unyielding determination.

"I-I understand, Sister." Henrick agreed with a nod and promptly exited the room, unwilling to challenge her directive.

He was fully aware of his sister’s formidable abilities and had suffered numerous "punishments" before for defying her.

Lacking both the power and the bravery to confront her fury once more, the very idea chilled him to the bone, bringing back flashbacks of her savage "lessons."

It served him best to obey every instruction unquestioningly, much like a servant heeding their lord.

After his departure, Isolde faced Yuan and declared, "I have something important to discuss with you in private...would you mind coming with me? Alone?"

At her words, Yuan looked toward his mother and the group, curious about their response. He’d already weathered his mother’s anger before and had no desire to repeat it.

"Go with her, Darling," Anna Grace encouraged with a gentle smile, giving her nod.

"Sure. Let’s go," Yuan said, rising from the sofa.

"Come, follow me," Isolde invited with a soft smile. Though she seemed calm on the outside, her heart thumped wildly within.

As they departed, Lily puffed out her cheeks and plopped down next to Anna Grace, her face twisted in annoyance, obviously envious.

"That bloodsucking woman is really trying to seduce my brother. The nerve...!" she grumbled quietly, but her jealousy rang clear to all.

"Calm down, Lily. It’s actually quite beneficial for us. We’ll gain another strong ally. And it seems Darling has taken a liking to her as well, so resisting now would be pointless," Anna Grace explained with a gentle exhale.

Lily sulked and whined, "But she’s a vampire! She might suck him dry if left unchecked!"

"I don’t think she would harm Hubby. After all, even touching me is extremely dangerous for anyone," Emma assured with a kind smile.

"Exactly! And he still insists on doing everything with you, even knowing he might lose his life," Julie chimed in with a teasing wink.

Emma’s cheeks flushed crimson, and the group instantly grasped Julie’s meaning. Yuan’s bold habits were no secret among them.

Nerith, on the other hand, stayed quiet. Deep in contemplation, she pondered her feelings for Yuan. She’d been impressed by his prowess and demeanor since their clash.

Sadly, the border threat kept her from delving into those sentiments fully. Whenever she gazed at him, her pulse quickened, and her body stirred in unfamiliar ways.

’Should I give myself to him...or should I place the war above everything else?’ she wondered to herself, seeking clarity in her heart.
