My Celestial Ascension Chapter 922: Arrival Of The Vampire Nobles
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
Queen Carmilla led Yuan and his companions through the city streets, providing a guided tour and directing them toward its most renowned attractions.
The city's ambiance felt truly captivating—chilly, with fog wafting along the pathways, infusing a magical essence into every corner. No matter their path, the vampires gazed at them in wonder and astonishment.
They detected the aroma of humans, and their primal urges began to stir uneasily. The fragrance of human blood thrilled them, since it ranked as a precious treat among vampires.
Countless individuals would gladly offer a fortune for just one drop, particularly after not encountering a human in centuries, much less savoring their blood.
Even though Yuan and his group attempted to disregard the piercing looks fixed upon them, it proved nearly impossible as they pressed on amid the avenues.
The vampires' conduct left his wives a bit uneasy, given that their glances brimmed with clear craving.
"Don’t worry about their stares at you. It’s completely typical for them to act like this upon catching the smell of humans," Queen Carmilla remarked, her face showing some embarrassment.
Yuan merely gave a nod and let out a gentle sigh prior to trailing after her once more, strolling at ease while absorbing the distinctive vibe of the city.
While they advanced, Queen Carmilla addressed them anew. "Vampires like us primarily depend on the blood from various beasts—particularly regular vampires."
"That said, highborn vampires can exchange blood with their mates, nourishing themselves by sipping from each other. They might also take blood from beasts when needed."
"For a Royal Vampire such as myself, I’m limited to blood from my kin, and after marriage, we drink solely from our spouse and nobody more," Queen Carmilla clarified.
Yuan and the rest paid close attention, their interest piqued in discovering more about vampire ways.
"It looks like vampirism brings along plenty of drawbacks," Leah commented naively, releasing a soft sigh.
"Sadly, each race faces its strengths and weaknesses. That’s just how nature works, and we’re powerless to alter it," Queen Carmilla replied with a light laugh.
With a grin, she went on, "Yet there’s a special case. Beyond our mate’s blood, we Royal Vampires can also partake in human blood, and we hold the power to transform a human into a vampire."
"Moreover, Royal Vampires can venture out in daylight. The sun’s rays barely impact us, allowing us alone among vampires to roam beneath its light," she declared with evident pride.
"Moving about in sunlight... I’ve come across tales of that. I didn’t imagine it could be real. It’s almost like your whole kind labors under some ancient curse," Yuan responded steadily.
"You could see it in that light. For us vampires, sunlight means instant doom the instant it strikes. Common vampires can’t last a second under the sun—they incinerate, reduced to mere dust," Queen Carmilla stated resolutely.
‘From what I recall about vampires in my previous existence, it holds true... they’re creatures bound to consume blood for life and doomed by the sun’s touch,’ Yuan pondered inwardly.
‘Now I wonder, how did Earth’s people learn of such details? No traces of vampires exist in records... There has to be some concealed truth at play.’
‘This puzzle will only unravel when I make it back to Earth.’
After wandering for several minutes, they reached a spot bustling with youthful vampires. Above a grand entrance, the bold inscription ‘Vampire Academy’ stood out prominently.
"This serves as the learning center for our Vampire Kingdom. Every young one attends here for schooling. We cover it all, from manners to combat skills," Queen Carmilla explained, her tone laced with pride.
She faced Yuan next and inquired, "Do you wish to step in and explore a bit?"
"I believe we’ll skip it. Time to head back to the castle—the noble family leaders should be nearing arrival," Yuan answered composedly.
"Oh... I nearly overlooked that. Let’s head to the castle, then," she replied, flashing an embarrassed grin.
‘Goodness! How did I let something so crucial slip? I must be losing it...’ she berated herself silently.
—
A fleet of carriages rolled into the city, each emblazoned with the emblems of the Vampire Kingdom’s noble lineages—clans that had governed their domains for more than a millennium.
Common vampires could merely observe from a distance; they lacked the standing to approach even close to the noble kin.
"Check it out! All those carriages racing to the castle!"
"Incredible! What’s driving every Noble Family to hurry over there?"
"I’m clueless... Still, this marks the first occasion I’ve witnessed every Noble Family assembling at the palace absent any grand event."
Astonished murmurs rapidly spread as word of the nobles’ coming circulated across the city.
The carriages sped directly to the castle, holding remarkable velocity despite the thronged roads.
They swept in like a tempest and departed in a flash, leaving the everyday folk in awe.
Before long, the carriages pulled up to the splendid castle of the Vampire King.
The carriage doors flew apart, and gradually, the heads of the noble vampire clans emerged.
"I’m curious what pressing issue prompted His Majesty to call us here on such short notice," an elegant lady with vivid red locks and a passionate air declared upon alighting.
"I share that curiosity," a striking man answered evenly, a subtle smile gracing his lips.
"I hope it’s not too grave... I lack the moment or tolerance to handle another’s chaos," a stunning woman with an alluring vibe noted, her crimson eyes flickering momentarily.
She boasted flowing golden tresses and donned an exquisite red gown that highlighted her elegant form.
"Better to discuss within. We can’t leave Lord Sebastian waiting as we grumble," a mature vampire suggested with a courteous grin.
Butler Sebastian positioned himself at the palace gateway, poised and stately, his stance embodying decades of rigor and duty.
"My lord awaits you all in the throne chamber of the castle. Kindly come with me—I’ll guide you there," Butler Sebastian announced politely, motioning for them to trail him.
The noble house leaders stayed mute and quietly shadowed Butler Sebastian.
The Vampire King—Evander—occupied his throne with an agitated look, anticipating the nobles’ arrival to deliberate their duties jointly.
