My Celestial Ascension Chapter 885: Earth Immortal Sect
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
Up in the sky, the Spider Queen steadied itself once again, and after touching down, it started scuttling along the wall, its gaze fixed intently on Yuan while it snarled in rage.
"Quite the feisty one, aren’t you?" Yuan chuckled lightly before stomping the ground hard and propelling himself ahead.
Bang! His fist struck right on the Spider Queen’s back, smashing its form against the wall so forcefully that the tough shell guarding its body shattered into pieces.
The instant the shell broke, the Spider Queen got alarmed and started thrashing its huge legs wildly, lashing out at Yuan from every angle.
Yet, Yuan blocked each strike effortlessly just with his hands. His physique was tough enough to endure the Spider Queen’s blade-like legs.
‘Damn! True to a Spirit Grandmaster-level beast... it’s amazingly strong and perilous!’ Yuan pondered while he kept fending off the assaults.
‘No. I need to wrap this up fast. Nightfall is approaching soon, and we still lack any hints about this location or if there’s a secret zone,’ Yuan resolved to quit restraining himself and go all out.
He booted the spider with maximum power, hurling its enormous frame through the air.
Moments afterward, the spider crashed into the wall, the collision rattling the whole cavern intensely.
Several of the Spider Queen’s legs broke from the smash, and a green fluid started leaking from its hideous maw.
Abruptly, the Spider Queen shot a stream of green fluid at Yuan while it fought to rise once more.
The assault came so abruptly and without warning that Yuan just barely evaded it in time.
A piercing hiss rang out as the green fluid hit the spot where Yuan had stood seconds before, etching a deep pit into the rock.
"That was dangerous... I barely managed to escape..." Yuan whispered with a stunned look as he eyed the pit formed by the spider’s poison.
Not letting the spider get another shot, Yuan called forth his sword from nowhere and clutched it tightly in both hands.
All at once, Yuan’s aura surged upward as he enveloped his sword in Sword Aura, his eyes narrowing sharply on the Spider Queen.
"It’s time to end this..." Yuan murmured in a deep tone, a broad smile gradually forming on his lips.
Nyx observed the spectacle in total astonishment. She was utterly stunned by the immense strength shown by Yuan and his wives, even her daughter, who was smashing the giant spiders with astonishing simplicity.
‘What on earth am I seeing?? Is this actually happening??’ Nyx wailed inside, her mind swirling with incredulity as her legs stayed rooted in shock.
Slash! A crisp cutting noise echoed as Yuan slashed his sword toward the huge Spider Queen, and right after, his form materialized behind it.
‘Unbelievable velocity...’ Nyx mused with a blank stare, totally floored by Yuan’s frightening swiftness.
The Spider Queen got cleaved in half in a flash. Its sturdy defensive shell proved worthless against Yuan’s Sword Aura.
Right after Yuan slew the Spider Queen, the leftover spiders grew wildly ferocious. Still, Anna Grace and the rest dispatched them without effort.
Fang Xiaoyan and Xi Meili incinerated all the spiders using their fire, reducing even their remains to charred husks beneath the scorching blaze.
In the following minutes, Anna Grace and the others wiped out every spider. None survived, since Xi Meili and Fang Xiaoyan’s fire seeped into the wall fissures.
"Done. All the spiders are dead now," Anna Grace announced with a grin as she tucked her sword away into her spatial ring.
"I didn’t even break a sweat fighting them... it was kind of fun," Emma chimed in with a bright smile.
"It was indeed," Rose agreed with a nod.
"Fang Xiaoyan, can I trouble you with burning all the spider webs? Clean everything in this room with your flames. We might find some clues here, as this cave doesn’t look ordinary at all," Yuan requested as he approached her.
"Give me a moment," Fang Xiaoyan replied with a nod before promptly releasing her flames to scorch everything in the room and purify the space.
In no time, the whole chamber was swallowed by a blaze, racing outward in every direction.
Yuan formed a minor shield around them with his Qi to guard Nyx from the fierce heat. Though it safeguarded her, she still sensed the gentle warmth grazing her skin.
In a flash, all the spider webs and cocoons up on the ceiling turned to dust. Nothing was left, everything fully cleansed by Fang Xiaoyan’s flames.
After the blaze died down and vanished, the chamber’s heat normalized, but a faint warmth lingered in the atmosphere.
A grand entrance revealed itself at the chamber’s distant end, formerly concealed under the thick spider webs.
A plaque dangled over the entrance, radiating a mighty presence. Even though it seemed worn and grimy, the inscription stood out clearly, with bold golden script exuding a draconic might.
‘Earth Immortal Sect’ stood etched on the large plaque in striking golden letters, the force in the words potent enough to unsettle one’s thoughts.
"Finally, what we’ve been searching for..." Yuan grinned while beholding the enormous entrance.
"I never thought something like this would be hidden deep inside a cave. It’s truly surprising," Leah remarked, her face etched with wonder.
"It seems this place once belonged to the Earth Immortal Sect... however, I have no idea what kind of sect it was," Yuan answered with a subtle smile before heading toward the entrance.
His wives trailed right after him and halted in front of the huge entrance.
"There is a powerful array placed on the door... let me handle it," Xi Meili offered before pressing her palm to the entrance and pouring her Qi into it.
At once, myriad symbols emerged, and the entrance flared with golden radiance as the whole region quaked fiercely.
In mere seconds, the entrance swung open fully. Yet, Yuan and his wives faced only pitch blackness within, offering no glimpse of what awaited beyond.
"Do you think it’s safe to enter inside?" Nyx queried Yuan with a worried frown, gulping anxiously as she peered into the void past the entrance.
"We can only find out by stepping inside," Yuan responded steadily.
"I see..." Nyx breathed out softly, resigned yet reluctant to venture into the unknown.
"Shall we head inside and see what we can find?" Anna Grace suggested with a soft smile, taking his hand to go in alongside him.
As they crossed the entrance, Yuan and his wives’ sight hazed over from a dazzling flash that burst before them.
Before they could respond, they stood in an entirely new spot, encircled by soaring peaks and endless structures.
Still, the zone seemed totally forsaken, devoid of any souls. The edifices bore severe ruin, draped in heavy cobwebs.
A dense dust blanket lay over the earth, suggesting no footfall for myriad years. But this was merely the periphery, with myriad more structures and sites visible afar.
"This place is completely abandoned... I hope we can find something here. But judging by its size, searching this place will take us a very long time," Anna Grace whispered while scanning the area.
After all, this was a sect from tens of thousands of years ago. It was enormous—so expansive it mirrored a full metropolis.
Everything existed here, from residences for sect members and disciples, abundant halls, and beyond.
Trial spires stood too, for disciples to hone skills through diverse ordeals. Plus, cultivation grottos, where disciples secluded themselves to boost their cultivation more swiftly.
"This Earth Immortal Sect must have been extremely powerful in its glory days... I wonder what kind of life the disciples used to live here," Yuan pondered aloud, eyeing the distant disciple dwellings.
‘I wonder if it was anything like the schools from my past life...’ Yuan reflected with a distant gaze as recollections of joyful times from his former existence arose.
They quickly reached the sect’s heart, where a towering stone stele loomed, listing the names of gifted disciples who had once glorified the sect with their prowess and renown.
After exploring the sect’s terrain for a few hours, Yuan and his wives at last came to the sect’s primary edifice, the former abode of the sect leader.
It served as the sect’s core—the most fortified spot across the whole domain, brimming with elite defenses and lethal snares. Even inner court disciples were barred from this area.
Just a handful could access it, typically with rare clearance. Without that, only those with unparalleled genius could hope to enter.
But now, the site lay barren, floors thick with dust. It evoked a spectral echo of bygone eras, a mere phantom of its former splendor.
Most arrays had depleted their power long ago or crumbled with time, though Yuan and his wives had to stay utterly vigilant, since lurking perils might persist inside.
"Everyone, be extra careful when we enter. We don’t know what kind of surprise might be waiting for us inside," Yuan warned his wives gravely before shoving the door ajar.
They filed in one after another, moving cautiously and methodically while probing the environs with their Divine Sense for any hidden dangers.
Luckily, entry proved secure, with no snares activating as they went in. Inside, though, they uncovered numerous precious artifacts, among them a few scarce manuals.
With no caretakers left and the arrays inert for ages, heavy dust blanketed the manuals and other relics.
These manuals were mere common sorts, since no sect would expose its prime secrets and valuables so casually.
Yuan and his wives bypassed the manuals and pressed on with their hunt, seeking real treasures or leads that might guide Yuan to a path back to Earth.
Nearly an hour into the search, Aisha unearthed a thorough chart of the full sect, every site precisely noted.
"Yuan, look at this map—this is very useful!" Aisha exclaimed with thrill as she hurried to him the instant she spotted it.
