MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 928: Not Enough
Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
Once their discussion ended, the pair ascended from the ground nearly simultaneously, tearing through the air like streaks of light toward the observation area where Anthony, Lucian, Aaaninja, and the others waited. As they drew near, the air grew heavy; the lingering traces of their intense confrontation still vibrated within the fabric of space itself.
Rain rested among the spectators, a soft smile touching his lips. Although the sheer, absurd destructive capability demonstrated by both Aura Nova and Kingsley Sky had stunned him to his core, the shock was fleeting. It was quickly replaced by a deeper, more intimate emotion.
Pure joy.
He felt a profound happiness seeing Aura Nova finally cross the threshold into the Cosmos after years of being held back. It was a milestone he had anticipated for much longer than anyone realized.
In that moment, Rain resembled a proud father watching his daughter dominate the field she loved, finally stepping onto the grand stage that had always been destined for her.
Aura Nova and Kingsley landed at the same time, reclaiming their seats with such composure it was as if nothing world-shaking had occurred. Anthony, Lucian, and Aaaninja, who were seated in a group, immediately turned their focus toward the returning fighters.
Lucian spoke first, wearing an invasive, calm grin. "You both went all out, huh?"
"It was only natural that we did," Aura Nova answered as she sat down with elegance. "After all, this was a fight that could have easily led to death."
Lucian let out a soft laugh. "I personally can’t wait to battle you," he remarked, his fascination clear and unchecked. "I love your ability, by the way. Even that last form of yours, beautiful, mesmerizing." Even though he had seen the power of Root Access Mode with his own eyes, Lucian didn't appear the least bit intimidated. If anything, his curiosity had intensified.
Meanwhile, Aaaninja’s eyes were fixed on Kingsley. While Lucian remained preoccupied with Aura Nova, Aaaninja’s attention stayed on Kingsley Sky. He wasn't just intrigued by the result of the duel, but by the fundamental principles behind Kingsley's strength.
Kingsley had accomplished those feats without the use of mana or any recognizable form of energy.
Earlier, Aaaninja had tried to reach into the River of Time, hoping to uncover what made this man so distinct. However, an outside force had interfered, warping the temporal flow and blocking his inquiries.
‘Universal Techniques, huh?’ Aaaninja mused silently.
Kingsley had effectively erased a segment of the Galaxy. While that portion was merely a grain of sand compared to the true scale of the Galaxy, it remained a staggering achievement that could not be dismissed. Aaaninja knew true power when he encountered it.
‘I wonder... are there Concepts of Time as well?’ His train of thought shifted, recalling the exchange between Aura Nova and Kingsley. He had questioned the River of Time directly, but it remained silent. Aaaninja understood the River well enough to know that such silence meant only one thing.
The information was beyond his current level of authority.
Even though Kingsley had fallen to Aura Nova while using his Concept, Aaaninja did not ignore the terrifying potential it held. He glanced briefly at Aura Nova before shaking his head, deciding to set the matter aside for now. When the moment arrived, he would simply face her in combat himself.
Nearby, Veronica, Altheria, and Vega had already crowded around Aura Nova.
"Damn," Vega whispered, eyeing Aura Nova as if she were a literal monster. "So you were this powerful?" She had previously claimed her father’s pocket dimension could contain the fight. It was now clear that she had drastically underestimated both Aura Nova’s might and Kingsley’s. The raw violence they had unleashed far surpassed everyone's expectations.
"It’s nothing special," Aura Nova said with a dismissive, airy smile. "I’m sure every one of us possesses at least that much power."
"Certainly not Veronica and I," Altheria chimed in dryly. Neither she nor Veronica had even reached the threshold of planetary-level Cultivation yet.
Vega and Aura Nova shared a laugh, neither of them disagreeing with the statement.
"But seriously," Altheria added, her voice turning grave, "to think planetary-level beings possess this much power... I couldn’t even see you people move. A single attack destroyed planets, stars, entire solar systems like they were nothing."
"I, for one, wish I had your Omniedit ability," Veronica stated bluntly. "That thing is completely broken." She still had the vivid image of the devastating strikes Aura Nova had chained together, each more illogical than the last.
From the side, Klaus leaned toward Vega with a smirk. "You see how much fun everyone’s having? It’s not too late to join in, you know."
Vega felt an immediate headache. Klaus had been pestering her to join the spar since the moment Aura Nova and Kingsley began.
"Dad," Vega sighed, "this is child harassment at this point."
"Too bad justice doesn’t exist," Klaus shot back with a shrug, showing no remorse.
In another corner, Anthony sat in quiet contemplation, his eyes locked onto Kingsley. While the others were gossiping or reacting to the carnage, Anthony had detected a subtle shift.
A vital change.
‘Something has changed within him,’ Anthony observed.
For a split second following the duel, Kingsley’s presence had sharpened and deepened before fading away entirely. Though Anthony didn't fully comprehend the nature of the change, he knew it was profound. Kingsley had gained a new realization. Perhaps his loss to Aura Nova had forced him to shatter an invisible limit.
‘The Universe’s Blessing is no joke,’ Anthony thought, shaking his head. Yet, he felt no envy toward Kingsley. He had no reason to feel such things.
"So," Aura Nova’s voice drifted from his side, snapping him back to reality. "What do you think?"
Her primary motivation for this spar had never wavered. Her target was Anthony—not Lucian Darkheart, nor Aaaninja Chronisynth Eternos. After all, those two had already suffered defeat at Anthony's hands.
Anthony turned to look at her, his expression steady. "Powerful," he admitted sincerely. "But still not enough. You might lose to Aaaninja or Lucian before you even get to me." A small smile played on his face as his sky-blue eyes met hers.
Aura Nova wasn't discouraged. Instead, she smirked. She was already anticipating her next clash. Whether her opponent was Lucian, Aaaninja, or Anthony himself, her self-confidence remained unshakable.
It was true that Kingsley had pushed her harder than most, but that was expected. If Kingsley didn't have that level of strength, his presence in this spar would have been pointless.
And Aura Nova had no interest in battles that lacked meaning.
