MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 927: Questions
Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
Aura Nova drifted down from the sky with effortless elegance, her descent slow and controlled. The iridescent, multi-colored hair that had flowed around her only moments ago began to fade, shifting back into a serene and familiar shade of beautiful blue. That otherworldly aura that had once enveloped her form dissipated, allowing her body to return to its usual, solid state. While her glowing sky-blue eyes lost some of their intense radiance, they remained as mesmerizing as ever, holding a silent depth that balanced immense power with absolute stillness.
The second her feet made contact with the soil, it was as if a transformation had occurred. She instantly reverted to her everyday self. No longer did she appear as the divine architect of reality, a being capable of reshaping existence with a thought. She was once again just Aura Nova—a girl who cherished books, cats, and peaceful intervals just as much as she enjoyed the thrill of a fight.
Under ordinary conditions, the sheer weight of exhaustion would have caused her to stumble the moment she landed. Her mana and stamina should have been completely drained after hours of relentless, high-intensity combat without a single second of rest. However, all fatigue had vanished the instant she triggered Root Access Mode. It was as if time had been reversed for her physical state, restoring her to the absolute peak of her condition as if she had never stepped onto the battlefield.
She stood there now, entirely healed. Her mana core was overflowing at its maximum limit and her stamina was fully replenished, removing any necessity for recovery or medical attention. Her physical form felt responsive, light, and perfectly whole.
A small smile touched her lips—the same expression she typically wore before engaging in a duel. She couldn't deny that she had relished the spar. Well... mostly. The instances where she had actually been hit were far less pleasant, as she certainly wasn't a masochist.
She turned her gaze toward Kingsley, who was currently stretching with the casual air of someone waking up from a long, refreshing nap. With light and steady steps, she began to walk toward him. As she approached, Kingsley was the first to speak.
"Great spar. I really needed that," he remarked, a relaxed smile playing on his features.
Aura Nova blinked in surprise. 'I don't think I've ever actually seen him smile,' she noted to herself, finding the thought somewhat entertaining.
"Yeah," she agreed, smiling back at him. "I enjoyed every second of it." She hesitated for a heartbeat before adding, "I have a question."
"Go ahead and ask," Kingsley answered instantly. His tone was unguarded and open; he clearly felt he had nothing to conceal.
"Is there a specific reason I couldn't replicate your martial techniques, or any of your skills for that matter?" Aura Nova asked directly. Being someone who could usually copy almost any phenomenon she laid eyes on, the inability to mirror his powers had sparked a deep sense of curiosity.
Kingsley was quiet for a moment. He tilted his head, eventually shaking it as he replied. "I honestly don't know," he admitted with total sincerity. Whether it was the laws of the universe shielding him or some other fundamental principle, he simply lacked the answer.
Aura Nova gave a slow nod of understanding. "What about that power you were wielding?" she inquired next. "The one you used to nullify my ice and lightning... and then again during that 'End Of All' technique."
In the world of Cultivation, prying into someone's secret techniques—especially ones of that magnitude—was usually seen as a major taboo or an insult. However, given their relationship, she trusted that he would simply decline to answer if it were a private matter.
"It’s called the Concept of Destruction," Kingsley said. "It gives me the power to destroy things."
He offered no further explanation.
Aura Nova waited in silence, expecting more detail. When none came, she realized that from his perspective, that was the entire truth. Kingsley didn't have a Sect library to consult, no ancient records, and no master to guide him. He had uncovered this power entirely on his own, and his knowledge ended there.
'What exactly constitutes a Concept?' Aura Nova wondered. It seemed evident that even Kingsley didn't fully grasp the mechanics behind it.
"One last thing," she said after a brief pause. "When I froze time... how were you still able to move?"
This was the question that truly mattered to her. The purpose of a spar was to identify weaknesses and fix mistakes before they resulted in death during a real confrontation.
"I used the Concept of Destruction to destroy the time surrounding me," Kingsley explained bluntly, his face remaining expressionless.
Aura Nova let out a soft sigh. 'It doesn't look like we'll be figuring out this Concept business anytime soon.'
"If you have questions for me, feel free to ask," she offered. "I’ll answer as best as I can." It felt wrong to be the only one seeking information; it would have been both rude and one-sided.
Kingsley paused to think. Initially, he didn't feel like he lacked any specific knowledge, but two questions eventually came to mind.
"How did you manage to withstand my final technique?" he asked. His voice held no suspicion, only a genuine desire to understand. If Aura Nova could survive it, then there was a chance others like Anthony might be able to as well.
"My Omniedit ability triggered automatically to protect me," Aura Nova explained truthfully. "As for the specifics of how it neutralized your attack... I'm not entirely sure. I just know my ability intervened."
Kingsley nodded, satisfied with the response. He didn't feel the need to probe further. If the move could be countered, he simply needed to refine it and try a different approach next time.
"Final question," he added. "That last state you entered—Root Access Mode. What exactly is it?"
Aura Nova took a moment before responding.
"It’s a command skill tied to my primary ability," she began. "I don't fully understand its scope myself. I've never had to use it before. Since I awakened at ten years old, no one has ever been powerful enough to push me to that point, so I never bothered exploring it."
She paused briefly before continuing. "I only used it against you because of your unpredictable skills. I felt that if I didn't end things quickly, there was no telling what kind of absurd ability you'd reveal next."
She gave a soft sigh. "To be honest, I'm still learning. That was my first time activating it. But while I was in that state..." She struggled to find the right words. "I felt truly omnipotent. It felt as though if I commanded the Acarnis Galaxy to crumble, it would have happened simply because I willed it."
Kingsley remained quiet for a long moment after her explanation. Finally, he gave a single, calm nod. His curiosity was quenched. With that, the discussion reached its natural conclusion, ending as quietly as their battle had.
