Living In Another World With A Farm Chapter 8282: Battle corpse (1)

Zhao Hai encountered dozens of figures, among them a man in a moon-colored robe whose strong yin energy made Zhao Hai uncomfortable. This man, revealed to be Li Ruohai, direct disciple and blood relative of the Corpse Demon Sect’s sect master, confronted Zhao Hai about breaking a restriction. Zhao Hai, knowing Li Ruohai's brutal reputation, spoke to him without deference, hinting at a secret known to him about Li Ruohai and warning him about his impending demise. Enraged, Li Ruohai ordered his cultivators to attack Zhao Hai.

The others failed to grasp Zhao Hai’s meaning, but Li Ruohai’s face darkened instantly. Glaring at Zhao Hai, he barked, "Nonsense! Go, slaughter him! This brat dares to insult me and spout such drivel. I want him dead. I’ll refine his body into a battle corpse and pull out his soul to be scorched for ten thousand years!"

Zhao Hai let out a cold sneer as the cultivators lunged toward him. Forming a hand seal, he roared, "Zhe!" At his command, a pillar of crimson light erupted into the sky, flooding the entire area. The charging cultivators suddenly found their target had vanished into thin air.

Zhao Wuji and Yan Bei, who were standing beside Zhao Hai with their spiritual Qi fully mobilized for a final stand, were left speechless. Such a turn of events was completely unexpected. Once the red glow appeared, the enemy disappeared from their sight, leaving them feeling incredibly bewildered.

Just then, Zhao Hai’s voice reached their ears. "Senior brothers, do not panic. I am casting a spell on you." Immediately after he spoke, the two felt a surge of power wash over them. A red flash crossed their vision, and suddenly, their surroundings became clear once more.

The sight before them left them stunned. They were still standing in the same spot, but the cultivators who were meant to be attacking had frozen just a short distance away. Each enemy was looking around with a vacant expression, as if they couldn't see Zhao Hai’s group or even the comrades standing right next to them.

In total shock, the two stared at the dazed crowd. Zhao Hai remarked, "Don’t be so surprised. They have fallen into my formation, and escaping won't be easy for them." After speaking, Zhao Hai scanned the group. Even Li Ruohai, positioned at the rear, was looking around blankly. Zhao Hai simply ignored him for the moment.

Yan Bei turned to Zhao Hai and asked, "Little Hai, when did you manage to set up this formation? How did I miss it?" Zhao Wuji was equally perplexed. He had no clue when the array had been laid. Despite being with Zhao Hai the entire time, they hadn't seen him perform any setup. The existence of this formation was a genuine shock to them.

Zhao Hai gave a light smile. "I laid it down the moment we landed. There is no need for such shock; it is a minor thing. Hehe, if I lacked even this much skill, how could I have broken the restriction here?" Naturally, Zhao Hai wouldn't reveal the full truth. To him, a formation of this level was mere child's play, nothing to brag about.

Both Yan Bei and Zhao Wuji nodded, feeling a wave of relief. However, Yan Bei soon looked toward the idling Li Ruohai with a worried expression and said, "Little Hai, you aren't planning to move against Li Ruohai, are you? If he is truly harmed, the Sect Master of the Corpse Demon Sect might lose his mind. That old man nearly started a war with other Sects for Li Ruohai's sake. If you hurt him, the danger will be immense. I fear even your Master wouldn't be able to shield you."

Zhao Hai glanced at Li Ruohai and shook his head. "I won't harm him personally, but I won't show mercy to his followers. As for Li Ruohai, well, whether he can find his way out of this is another matter. Senior brothers, move out. Eliminate these guys. Just leave Li Ruohai alone for now."

The two nodded and approached a nearby cultivator. Even as they drew close, the man seemed completely oblivious to their presence. Despite being right in front of him, the cultivator saw nothing. This realization startled the two; they knew these cultivators were likely sweeping the area with their spirit sense, yet they still couldn't detect anything. It was truly impressive. None of the enemies were weak, and the closer they got, the higher the chance of detection should have been. Yet even at this range, the formation held. This proved just how formidable Zhao Hai’s formation truly was.

Meanwhile, Zhao Hai kept his gaze fixed on Li Ruohai. The young man appeared confused but remained stationary, not even bothering to raise a protective shield. Sensing something was off, Zhao Hai watched him silently, waiting for his next move. For a long while, Li Ruohai did nothing, standing there like a lost soul trapped in an illusion. However, this display only made Zhao Hai laugh.

In a low voice, Zhao Hai called out, "Young Master Li, there is no need to keep up the act. Even though you are inside my formation, you can clearly see me. You must be carrying some sort of treasure, right? Are you waiting for me to strike so you can launch a counterattack? I hate to tell you, but your plan is useless. I have no intention of killing you, nor do I dare to, so you can stop pretending."

At these words, a cold glint returned to Li Ruohai’s eyes. He turned his head toward Zhao Hai and said grimly, "Zhao Hai, I didn't realize you were this sharp. But what are you implying? You had better explain yourself clearly, or don't blame me for being ruthless."

Zhao Hai smiled back. "You know exactly what I mean. Hehe, I must admit I admire your nerve. However, I am curious—how did you plan to treat me so poorly? Surely you don't think you can break my magic formation just because you aren't afraid of its illusions? I must say, you have underestimated a formation created by me, Zhao Hai." With a thought, the surrounding red light condensed into a massive ghostly claw that lunged straight for Li Ruohai.

Li Ruohai’s face paled when he saw the ghost claw. He had assumed Zhao Hai’s setup was merely an illusion array. Now he realized his mistake; this was a high-level offensive formation of immense power.

With a cold snort, Li Ruohai waved his hand. Suddenly, a battle corpse with pale skin, protruding fangs, and hooked claws appeared by his side. Based on the aura it radiated, its strength was likely at the Foundation Establishment or even the Dharma Refinement realm.

"Go!" Li Ruohai sneered, pointing forward. On his command, the battle corpse bolted toward the crimson ghost claw. As it moved, it swung its right arm, which expanded in mid-air into a giant claw of its own to intercept the attack.

With a thunderous explosion, the two ghostly claws collided. The red one shattered into pieces, while the battle corpse remained unscathed. The creature let out a roar, its hair seemingly coming to life as it lashed out toward the other cultivators trapped in the array.

Seeing the shift in the battle, Zhao Hai’s expression grew serious. He quickly called out, "Senior brothers, fall back immediately!" He was shouting to Zhao Wuji and Yan Bei, who had just finished off one enemy and were moving to the next. They instantly retreated to his side upon hearing the warning.

Zhao Hai shifted his hand signs and yelled, "Soldiers!" At his cry, the red light above the formation transformed into a massive, rotating magic circle covered in intricate array talismans. As it spun, a crushing pressure descended upon the area. This wasn't just spiritual pressure, but physical gravity. It felt as if everyone had been burdened with an immense weight, making their bodies feel incredibly heavy.

Then, countless blood-red sword lights manifested within the array, shimmering with a lethal chill. Those trapped inside seemed to break free from the illusion, only to see the blades raining down. They frantically summoned their celestial devices to protect themselves.

The sword lights were exceptionally sharp and powerful. Combined with the crushing gravity that slowed their movements, many of the cultivators were instantly wounded as the formation ground forward.

Li Ruohai watched this with a sneer. He performed a series of hand gestures and shouted, "Rise!" The battle corpse reacted instantly, roaring as it swung its arms. Black claw shadows erupted from its hands, striking the blood-red magic circle above.

After several loud blasts, the talismans on the red formation were destroyed. With the talismans gone, the entire array began to fade. The heavy pressure and the sword lights vanished instantly. The trapped cultivators breathed a collective sigh of relief and quickly retreated to Li Ruohai’s side.

Zhao Hai looked at Li Ruohai and grinned. "Hehe, as expected of the Young Master of the Corpse Demon Sect. You certainly have skills. Your battle corpse has reached the refinement realm, possessing a body of copper and iron. Its defense is incredible, its strength is limitless, and it can even use mana. Its fighting capacity is truly remarkable."

Li Ruohai stared at Zhao Hai with icy eyes. "You certainly have a silver tongue, but if this is the extent of your abilities, then all three of you will die today." Despite having broken the formation, Li Ruohai noticed that Zhao Hai didn't look the least bit frightened. This made him hesitate. Unsure of what other hidden cards Zhao Hai might be holding, he refrained from attacking immediately.
