I was just making up techniques… how did all of you become Emperors? Chapter 567: Shi Xuan’s Enlightenment Breaks Through

"Since you are so intent on seeking death, this mistress shall fulfill your desire."
With a casual flick of her wrist, Qianhuan Furen summoned violent demonic winds that tore through the cavern, forcing Shi Xuan to squint against the gale.
Even so, Shi Xuan remained rooted to the spot, his grip tightening around the hilt of his long sword.
By the time one could finish a cup of tea, the interior of the cave had been transformed, now overflowing with a sea of thick, white skeletons.
Every single one of these skeletal warriors possessed the peak strength of the Core Dan Realm. They began to advance toward Shi Xuan, their movements measured and rhythmic.
Just as the bony horde closed in, Shi Xuan’s eyes snapped open. His blade descended with sudden, dramatic force.
"Great Wilderness Sword Technique."
A wave of sharp sword energy surged forward, instantly reducing a front line of Bone Demons to nothingness.
The remaining monsters, however, seemed entirely undeterred by the display of power. They continued their relentless charge, swarming toward him like a school of sharks drawn by the scent of blood.
Shi Xuan’s arm became a blur as he swung his weapon, filling the cave with a crisscrossing web of sword energy.
Despite his efforts, the Bone Demons appeared inexhaustible. No matter how many Shi Xuan cut down, they rose again like stubborn weeds, over and over.
Watching the struggle, Qianhuan Furen wore a wicked smirk; she was intimately familiar with this outcome.
These so-called geniuses always believed they could defy the heavens by fighting above their realm, never realizing that within this grand formation, all such efforts were in vain.
The minutes ticked by slowly.
Shi Xuan continued to wield his sword with a steady, unhurried rhythm. A dead zone of several meters surrounded him, through which no Bone Demon could pass.
Yet, he knew this stalemate could not last forever.
Eventually, his reserves of spiritual power would run dry.
Shi Xuan deliberately slowed his killing pace, his mind racing to find a way out of this deadly trap.
Two potential paths emerged in his thoughts: he could either activate the Sword Jade his master had bestowed upon him, or he could gamble everything on a life-or-death struggle, using the pressure to grasp the Secret of All.
Without a moment's hesitation, Shi Xuan chose the latter. He had come here to temper himself, after all.
Simply slaughtering mindless minions wouldn't solve the problem; he had to find the flaw in the situation.
As he parried and slashed, he utilized the Secret of Before to calculate the variables of the battle.
The first deduction failed.
The second attempt yielded nothing.
The third try was also a failure.
...
An entire day slipped away unnoticed.
Observing that Shi Xuan’s spiritual power was more than half depleted, Qianhuan Furen began calculating the perfect moment to strike and seize the destiny of this Son of Destiny.
In the brutal Slaughter Battlefield, constant Cultivation was not the only requirement for growth; one also needed fate. Only with a massive amount of fate could one bypass the battlefield's restrictions and achieve a breakthrough.
In all her long years, this youth possessed the most staggering amount of fate she had ever witnessed.
Fortunately, that luck would soon be hers. The thought caused Qianhuan Furen’s smile to widen even further.
Suddenly, Shi Xuan unleashed a ferocious strike, clearing every Bone Demon within dozens of meters before abruptly closing his eyes.
His aura plummeted instantly. The surrounding Bone Demons, sensing the change, froze in place as if paralyzed.
Thousand Illusion Mistress saw her opening. Her eyes gleamed as she blurred forward, her hand reaching directly for Shi Xuan’s heart.
Now!
The thought ignited in Shi Xuan’s mind. He immediately triggered the Shi family’s forbidden technique, incinerating his essence blood to power his most devastating strike. Such a move would likely leave him unable to use his Cultivation for days.
However, his previous deductions had revealed a truth: if he could strike down the true threat at the cost of his own strength, the illusions in the cave would vanish.
This meant only one powerful Bone Demon truly stood before him.
Clang!
A sharp sword cry rang out as Shi Xuan’s blade lunged toward Thousand Illusion Mistress.
The strike was as swift as a bolt of lightning and carried the crushing weight of a thunderclap!
As the sword moved, the world seemed to fall into a sudden, eerie silence.
The entire cavern felt as though it contained nothing but that single blade, and Thousand Illusion Mistress found herself pinned by its sheer intent.
Shock washed over her face, her heart filled with sudden dread. How was this possible? This brat was supposed to be exhausted—how could he still unleash such a technique?
I have to get away!
Her instinct was to retreat, but the sword tore through her arm and drove straight toward her chest.
Bang!
A heavy thud echoed as Thousand Illusion Mistress’s body was blown apart, leaving only her severed head to tumble through the air.
Clang!
Shi Xuan’s long sword slipped from his fingers and hit the ground. That final attack had drained every drop of his remaining spiritual power.
"You miserable brat! You dared to destroy my physical form? I will tear you apart!"
Thousand Illusion Mistress let out a bloodcurdling scream, her mouth unhinging into a terrifying, bloodthirsty maw.
Shi Xuan felt a violent, invisible force beginning to drag him toward her.
"Master, protect me!"
Shi Xuan roared, finally triggering the Sword Jade he had held in reserve. He unleashed it directly at the floating head of Thousand Illusion Mistress.
A beam of pure sword energy erupted from the jade.
With a resounding metallic ring, the energy pierced through her skull and continued upward, lancing through the very ceiling of the cave and shooting into the heavens.
The terrifying aura of the sword energy rippled across the entirety of White Bone Valley.
Every demon in the valley felt the chill of that power; they trembled in fear, retreating deep into their dens, terrified to show their faces.
Rumble!
With a low groan, the cavern began to collapse. Shi Xuan found himself buried beneath a mountain of falling stone.
Utterly spent of spiritual power, he used his final spark of consciousness to swallow a recovery pill before drifting into a deep sleep.
While he lay unconscious, a dim character for "All" within Shi Xuan’s sea of consciousness began to glow with the faint, ethereal light of the Great Dao.
The radiance intensified, eventually illuminating his entire mental space until the character for "All" was permanently etched into his soul.
A primordial voice resonated through his mind.
"To master the Secret of All is to amplify one's combat strength tenfold."
Waking groggily to the sound of the voice, Shi Xuan opened his eyes. Despite the heavy boulders pinning him down, he felt no pain.
He reached out, grabbed his sword, and thrust upward. The stones shattered instantly. With a casual wave of his palm, he sent the debris flying with a gust of wind.
Huu...
Shi Xuan watched the light filtering through the rubble at the cave entrance and exhaled slowly. He whispered to himself, "It is true; only by standing at the precipice of death and pushing one's potential to the limit can the Secret of All be truly understood. Now, I can focus on breaking through to the Heavenly Origin Realm."
Rather than leaving the cramped space, he retrieved several high-grade spiritual stones from his storage ring and began constructing a formation.
Once the array was set, Shi Xuan consumed another medicinal pill, feeling the surge of spiritual power returning to his Meridians.
He began his advancement. As his internal aura climbed higher and higher, the energy within the high-grade stones was rapidly siphoned away.
A day later, Shi Xuan’s presence erupted like a volcano, shooting straight into the clouds. His Cultivation shattered its previous limits as he successfully stepped into the Heavenly Origin Realm.
