Global Era of Star trekking Chapter 1762 - 859: The Gathering Storm (Part 2)
Previously on Global Era of Star trekking...
Large clumps of hair began to fall from Yan Ancestor’s head, revealing the rotting, diseased skin underneath.
Even so, this veteran Transcender displayed a savage ferocity. He lunged forward, seized the primary head of the Ten Thousand Headed Demon Snake, and ripped it away by brute force!
"We shall perish together!" the remaining heads of the Ten Thousand Headed Demon Snake shrieked in unison. They immediately triggered a self-destruction of the severed main head.
The center of the battlefield was reduced to a void by the cataclysmic explosion, momentarily obliterating the very laws of space and time.
As the turbulent energy finally settled, onlookers saw a mangled Yan Ancestor, his left arm torn away at the shoulder. The three Abyss Transcenders were in a similarly pitiable state—the Ten Thousand Headed Demon Snake had only three heads left, the Six-armed Demon God was now armless, and the Void Demon Shadow had faded into near-transparency.
The witnessing beings were left in a state of shock and confusion.
The Abyss Demon Race, renowned for their martial prowess and mastery over the Laws and Rules of Chaos, should not have struggled this much in a three-on-one engagement.
Despite their injuries, both sides prepared to resume the slaughter.
A massive axe, radiating the iridescent colors of chaos, manifested in Yan Ancestor’s grip. The terrifying pressure of this Chaos Wonder began to radiate outward with staggering speed.
"That is enough!"
A booming, majestic voice echoed through the emptiness, forcing both parties to freeze. A towering figure as white as snow descended—a Transcender of the Ice Demon Clan from another powerhouse within the Chaos Divine Land.
Shortly after, the "Father of the Sand Sea" from the Sand Spirit Clan, the "Burning Flame Ancestor" of the Heaven-Burning Clan, and seven other local Transcenders from the Chaos Divine Land arrived one by one.
These Transcenders of the Chaos Divine Land could not simply watch as the Abyss Demon Race slaughtered a being of their own rank on their home turf.
Ultimately, the dominance of the Chaos Divine Land over the All Heavens and Myriads of Worlds did not just rely on its unique semi-high-dimensional status; it required powerful native Transcenders to serve as the ultimate deterrent.
"Hehehe, quite the display of solidarity..."
With a mocking sneer, the three Abyss Transcendent Demon Gods backed down, allowing the broken Yan Ancestor to depart.
However, as Yan Ancestor dragged his shattered form along the starry path toward his ancestral home, the unexpected occurred—
A flash of gray sword light erupted from the void, piercing his heart with surgical precision.
This sword light carried enigmatic rules that even a Transcender could not grasp, snuffing out Yan Ancestor’s life force in an instant.
"You... are... high..."
Yan Ancestor’s eyes dilated in horror, as if he had identified his killer.
He never finished his sentence. His trillion-kilometer body began to crumble into dust, inch by inch.
The entirety of the Chaos Divine Land shuddered violently, and a rain of blood began to fall across the countless planes of the All Heavens and Myriads of Worlds.
A haunting wail vibrated through the firmament as the All Heavens Star Sea mourned the death of a Twelfth Rank Transcender.
The various Transcenders turned their shocked gazes toward the source of the sword light, but they found only a fading mist of gray. The mysterious perpetrator, having succeeded in one strike, had vanished without a trace.
"Who did this?!" the Abyss Demon Race Transcenders roared in a mix of shock and fury.
The prey they had failed to kill at a massive cost had been stolen by a third party. Worse, this act would likely cause the other powers of the Chaos Divine Land to point the finger at the Abyss.
At that moment, every observer felt a cold shiver.
A Transcender, a peak existence of the All Heavens Star Sea, had been slain so easily?
To kill a Twelfth Rank being so decisively—even one who was crippled—was a feat far beyond the capabilities of an average Transcender.
Within the Torch highest group chat:
"The heavens are shifting."
Jiang Yuan’s voice came through the channel, heavy with significance.
The death of a Twelfth Rank Transcender signaled the end of the long-standing equilibrium in the Chaos Divine Land.
The motives and schemes of the hidden assassin remained a complete mystery.
But one fact was undeniable.
In ten thousand years, the Heaven-Fighting Ruins event would be plagued by unprecedented chaos.
Previously, the Chaos Demon Ape clan held everything in check. Despite the presence of many Peak Clans and Star Sea Dominator Civilizations, order was maintained within the Heavenly Ape Star Realm.
With Yan Ancestor gone, the Chaos Demon Ape clan fell from the ranks of transcendent forces. Although several Eleventh Rank Chaos Demon Apes remained, they lacked the power to repel the greedy eyes of other Star Realms.
It was clear that the Heavenly Ape Star Realm would now become the epicenter of attention for the Chaos Divine Land and various mythical powers from the All Heavens and Myriads of Worlds.
The Heavenly Ape Star Realm was entering its darkest, most chaotic era.
Reaching this conclusion, the five members of the chat looked at one another, their expressions clouded with dread.
Human Emperor City was located right inside the Heavenly Ape Star Realm.
To make matters worse, several Chaos Cities belonging to the Wizard Civilization were also situated there.
This meant the other side would be too occupied with their own survival to offer much assistance.
"We must fortify Human Emperor City’s defenses immediately," Ferdinand declared with grim determination.
"Instruct the stationed fleet to use every Star Crystal Stone in storage. Utilize all high-tier resources, including Eternal Stone Bricks and Chaos Stones, to reinforce the walls. We must push the city's defense Energy Level as high as possible—if not to the Eleventh Rank, then at least to the half-step Eleventh Rank!"
Song Chi’s fingers blurred across his console as he checked the city's stockpiles.
"We have 7.8 million units of Star Crystal Stones, over a trillion Eternal Stone Bricks, and even more Chaos Stones. We have about two thousand years left on Origin Star. During this time, major forces shouldn't move too openly. It's doable."
Jiang Yuan added, "Those are just external defenses. Our personal Cultivation is what truly matters. Ji Heng and I aren't enough. Ying Yi, Ferdinand, Song Chi—whoever is ready must enter seclusion. We need at least three Mythical Immortal Ships. With the Three Corpses Divine Shrine as our foundation, we can hold out even if a Twelfth Rank Transcender attacks."
Ji Heng nodded in agreement.
"Indeed, three Mythical Immortal Ships is the bare minimum for us to maintain any autonomy!"
He and Jiang Yuan looked toward the other three and added, "With the million-year opportunity on Origin Star ending in two millennia, you must decide now. Enter retreat if you must."
Song Chi and the others looked at each other.
They recognized the gravity of the situation and the necessity of Jiang Yuan’s request.
The choice was made quickly.
Ying Yi and Ferdinand spoke at the same time: "Greedy Wolf is still young; I will go!"
They meant no disrespect; they simply worried that Song Chi, who was not even two thousand years old, lacked the necessary foundation.
Song Chi did not argue. He had been preparing the Heavenly Ruins Cang Qiong for its evolution into a Mythical Immortal Ship, but he was still missing several components.
In contrast, Ying Yi and Ferdinand had lived for tens of thousands of years and possessed the vast resources of the Torch Empire. Their preparations were far superior.
The chat fell silent for a moment.
Then Jiang Yuan spoke: "Very well. Ying Yi and Ferdinand, you two will proceed. With two Time Chess Board components available, we don't have to worry about the cost of failure. With your preparations, even if one fails the Cultivation breakthrough, the other should succeed. At least..."
He trailed off, but the implication was clear. No one disagreed.
However, one final problem remained: evolving into a Mythical Immortal Ship required the Energy Tide of a Tenth Rank Star Continent to maximize the success rate.
The energy from one Star Continent was usually only enough for a single Superdimensional Mother Ship's ascension. It might not be enough for two.
They faced a difficult choice.
Should they focus all resources on evolving one Ninth Level Floating Land into a Star Continent, or try to sustain two simultaneously?
